I'm surprised more isn't being made of the euros slide, the lower it goes the more inflation the EU imports and the more difficult the winter is going to be. It's not hard to imagine Germany crying uncle and giving into Russia, that or drastically raising rates to try and prop up the euro.

IPB The Open Golf Sweep 2022 - Round 1 Update
balfejohn with a nice lead but still a lot of golf to be played. Think it's safe to say Tiger is goosed though.Happiness is not a goal; it is a by-product. ~Eleanor Roosevelt

It struck me at the time that the Beeb (or whomever) want diverse contestants whereas the government definitely do not in their citizens. Yet, as Hitch has pointed out, they have plenty amongst their ranks.

They don't play soccer internationals on Hackney Marshes anymore, or have World Title fights at the York Hall in Bethnal Green. For very good reasons.
So I don't know why they persist in regularly having the Open Golf on this ancient slab of drab featureless land in Scotland. They have about 100 better courses to use.
By all means keep the course open for it's historical reasons, but it no longer merits a major.

It's fairly rampant again. The 'aul lad finally got it as well a few weeks back. Thankfully he'd got all four jabs by that stage but still ended up in hospital for 10 days with it. He's slowly coming back around to normal (or at least normal for him) after being out of hospital for over two weeks now but his little stay there has thrown up more crap that he had been hiding that we need to deal with.
Fun times!

11/10 IMO
Did you watch Night Sky ? JK Simmons and Sissy Spacek, fantastic scifi story, if a little slow paced, left on a wtf cliffhanger only to be cancelled, hopefully someone else picks it up.
Oh, and What We Do In The Shadows is back !This too shall pass.

Admittedly I haven't been paying attention to poker but I've never seen that before?
As it is, they hit capacity for day 1a today which means 1b flight has been pushed from 8pm to 10pm start. So its clearly popular

Lao Lao I have retractions to make on some recent comments. Bambino is certainly superior to do Fontaines. I went back in (in a better mood perhaps) and while the cynic in me still felt they could charge less for pizza if they didn't have 8 (!) Staff working there at once, the pizza is absolutely class.
On the back of the recent lees Charming Noodles cheap eats discussion, anybody tried White Rabbit, can be found in the back of a supermarket on vapel st, or in moore st mall, so it's not fine dining but the food is unreal!!airport, lol

Overheard a player on my table (in an earlier D1) say that it often resulted in the biggest stack going into D2… so must not be a new thing i’d say.Last edited by Degag; 15-07-22, 20:18.

I played one just before Covid and 4 of us regged just as the Turbo closed and we had to wait a few mins till players busted to gradually get in super late. 500 players and 3 out of 4 filled 1st/2nd and 3rd two days later.
Missing the value maybe but fun at the bar definitely
Best buddys aul lad passed away on my way over tonight so had to abandon ship.

Sorry about your buddy's dad.
I might head up for the IPO again in October. Hotel prices a killer though.

Counterpart was another great show, also Simmons, that was binned. Time travel in particular seems to be cursed. I think if there time-travel, or alternate realities, the masses just can’t follow it. Counterpart, journeyman, Time-travellers wife is another one cancelled recently. Although that’s probably a story that doesn’t translate well to a tv show.
On the other have, most time travel stories are a mess.

The brother was over at the game. Free tickets from the woman's family as some work trip got in the way. About as fair weather a supporter as could be . Snuck out for a "quick pint" with the woman's brother.
He worked in a pub out there when he first arrived. Served Coles, Retallic and a few other lads. Said they were all a1 and didn't fancy having to escort them out the door if they were gargled.
