With the few crap stories (just kidding Theresa/Rigger) going around, now maybe a good time for me to shill my latest project.

Starting later this year (hopefully late Feb), I'll be running a new storytelling night in Dublin, which will extend to a few main cities around Ireland if it takes off.

The Seanchai Sessions aims to bring you a monthly storytelling night where people tell their own story to a live audience. There is really only one stipulation, it must be true!

Each storyteller would tell their story without any notes or cue cards. It all comes from them

Slows it down a bit when in USA. He is in promos and ads seen by millions, gotta be done. All the talking gets the wrestling fans and rednecks interested, $$$.

Scoozi's. It's an Italian. Not mind blowingly good but it's grand with a friendly and competent staff. Bang on your price range too. Big enough portions too and I'm not exactly a small lad.

It's not a huge place either but every time I've been they've had a reserved area set up for a group and never broke stride with other customers.

I'd say you'd be grand in there. When you go in the front door and turn right there's a decent sized area there for a large group. Like I said it's not a huge place but definitely big enough for your party. Once they have enough notice it'd be madness to turn away a group like that.

Oh yeah coke and party rock n rollers, well I'm sitting here on a Friday night educating myself on the merits of wool socks and where best to buy them. Edgy stuff.

I have never really thought about socks before. I buy cheap crap and put holes in them very quickly. Never thought about different materials. But I will be spending more times wearing socks without footwear in non-home environment over the next while. So sock buying is needed. Wool blends appears to be a good idea.

Does anyone who will admit to knowing anything about this feel like recommending a wool blend sock product and where to get them. Bearing in mind I am not out to impress the world with my socks, so "impactful" is not a chief criterion.

I was sock buying in Debenhams on Monday, the Jasper Conran's were just cotton. Bought some 32% lamb's wool ones which I have on now and approve of. Going to buy some more of them during the week.

Slightly disappointed at the lack of quality wool sock suggestions by the hitherto considered well heeled brigade from here. Bunch of sartorial bluffers when it comes right down to it. Probably wearing brown paper bags as underwear.

No, won't be in the gates head. I'm still working on venues but the plan is to not have in a pub but still have alochol available

Essentially, the story could be about anything, once it is your story and it is true. However, the best stories usually have a bit of an arc to them where the teller went on a journey (not a literal journey) and come out of it on the other side, for better or worse. For example, your story could be about how you adapted to Colm going away to work, what is was like before/what it is like now - Am sure you've have loads more.

It can sometimes be hard to get a story together so that it tells well but that is where I come in, I can help out on that side of things so that before the story teller takes to the stage, they are well polished and confident telling it

Portlaoise, eh? Only reason stopping it would be getting enough storytellers to turn up. You'd need 5 -6 each night, doubt you would get a monthly one there but it could be every few months if there was enough interest.

Realistically speaking though, I would have thought Dublin & Cork would be the main two with maybe Limerick & Galway being every few months

yeah i use ad blocker , this is a message saying to update something or other, you cant close it at all. only way is task manager. looks like an official windows update type thing, obv its not
