Need the BBV's help with a present idea. Am normally very good at this kinda lark but am kinda struggling on this one.
Want to get present for somebody who is not from Ireland, but has lived here for the last six years and is now going home. Want to get them something to remind them of Ireland. It's for a female and I may want to get into her ninnies before she leaves
Any ideas?
And no, a midget dressed up as a leprachaun is not an option.
I really hope these three are back to back on the Sunday night would be a pretty amazing climax to the festival.
Opr
Would love that but reckon at least two will clash and there might be an overlap with the other, that's what normally happens when there is three acts I want to see on
Not a prayer of getting a ticket on the day if what I hear is accurate. Might still get some on Ticketmaster.
On the day I assume you know all the usual tricks for getting tickets? How many are you after. If I hear of any going spare I can sort you out.
I heard a very odd thing on the radio this morning where they sad they may decide to sell the 2000 sideline seats if it was a sell out.
So they would flog some of the best seats in the house at the last minute
I was offered a ticket today Lloyd, it's a 'Cork' ticket but I definately won't be using it.
I'm not sure if it's available if i'm not going to use it personally but I'm not ringing to decline until tomorrow afternoon.
Let me know if that suits and i'll see what I can do. No promises mind!

To try and stop pitch invasions the first 2 rows of all seated areas of Croke Park are covered in an orange mesh that the stewards then hold up at the end of the match. They might sell them given the demand. Simple as.

It was the first 3 rows last Sunday Kayroo. I was 6 rows back so the mesh was 3 rows in front of me
Massive Attack, The National, Mumford & Sons, Fever Ray, Friendly Fires, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Two Door Cinema Club, Juan Atkins, UNKLE, Fight Like Apes, Laurent Garnier (live), Wolf Parade, The Horrors, The Fall, Dennis Alcapone & the Dubcats, The New Pornographers, Bonobo (live), Land Lovers, The Big Pink, The Low Anthem, Jerry Fish & the Mudbug Club, Liquid Liquid, 808 State, Archie Bronson Outfit, Mr Scruff, Field Music, Cymande II, The Tallest Man on Earth, Beardyman, The Alarm, Stornoway, Dam Funk, James Vincent McMorrow, Mixhell, Neon Indian, Dublin Gospel Choir, Messiah J & the Expert, Dandelion, O Emperor, Jackbeats, The Riptide Movement
This guy makes amazingly catchy funk stuff and would be a barrell o' larfs. If he doesn't clash with anyone I'd strongly recommend you go see him!

Yea but if I was going up on Sunday looking for a ticket and theres a chance of getting a ringside seat or the top corner of the top teir ... surely its going to be very messy.
Anyway its ridiculous that they would be making these decisions on the fly, either they need those rows empty or they don't. If they are really going to sell them if they need to is saying that the extra c.€75K is more important than whatever safety consideration they would have blanked them off for.
Dublin bandwagon will re-emerge in serious force this weekend. Hence why, despite the fact I've been to every game this year in Dublin and 1 away league game (work commitments prevent), it's been a pain getting Hill tickets for this weekend. You could set up a deck chair up there for the Tipp and Armagh games but now I have to pull strings to get tickets? I fucking hate fairweather fans.
As for the 1st few rows thing: I reckon it makes sense given how shit scared the GAA are of pitch invasions. Given the winner this year will be the first non-Kerry or Tyrone winner in almost a decade you can be sure people will be wanting to invade the pitch. I don't necessarily agree with it but I see the logic to it.

I saw this one a year or two ago, solid drama, good performances but fairly slow moving. While the story is interesting and the actors are good, not much happens to keep your attention.
A good point. I really like grim and gritty films. The general atmosphere of the film I really liked. Backwater town and impoverished characters.
Of the two films I liked Frozen River a lot more. Really great performance by the lead actress.

Is there not some sort of a 'season ticket' effort available in Dublin?
I know Kev has a Waterford version and my mates in Cork are signed up for something similar.

season ticket is the answer Keith, one of the best things the GAA has done for the regular match going fan ever, and great value too.
Saw Florence and the Machine up in Belfast there this evening, she is really something else. Didnt even notice it was raining til she stopped singing lol
how does that work for championship? we only have one for all the home league games
75 euro for the ticket - covers all 7 league games home and away and the first championship game for your county. After that you have to buy a ticket for all your counties championship games but u get a 5er discount. If your county makes the all Ireland and u have attended 60% or more if their league and championship games u are guarenteed a final ticket.
The tickets are great too, centre of the stand, for example I was 305 lower cusack last Sunday. To top it off they throw in free entry into the league final irregardless of your county making it and optional half price entry to int rules this year. There is also a choice of opting out of one championship game- but why would u want to do that
One of the best line up's at EP, certainly in the last 2-3 years

Are those terms standard across the county Kev or just for Waterford?
Each county having their own terms etc?
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act, but a habit.
I have a season ticket. It gives me admission to all county championship games too but it only guarantees terrace tickets and I've always stood on Hill 16.
I know a lot of people dislike the Hill but the first game I ever saw was the 1995 All Ireland final and it was from roughly the same part of the Hill I've stood on ever since. The place has a lot of good and bad memories for me and I don't want to stand or sit anywhere else on matchday.
Probably illogical but it is sport after all. Logic has nothing to do with it.

I suggest giving her this classy yet hilarious ornament and saying you hope it reminds her of Ireland and then doing your best impression of el tren emoticon. Then again seeing as she is here 6 years she might interpret this as more of a slander on her character. Decent present either way though. She certainly would have no cause for complaint.

Standard for all counties, it's a GAA run thing not Waterford county board. Sone counties might have their own thing that runs seperately but the season ticket scheme started 2 yrs ago is centrally run

Saw that earlier. Fkin insane, the bloke deserves the chance that has been denied of him since he signed.
I'm fkin livid at the thought of him going out on loan!

I'm the total opposite..Saw her at Oxegen in the pissing rain and thought she was septic..sickened I didn't go to see La Roux who was on at the same time :/

This would make little sense unless his wages are a real problem. He is easily twice the player Poulsen is, and offers something Lucas, Masch and Poulsen can't.
It says he was linked with Napoli, I'd love if he went there.
I think in things like this you need to trust your manager. I doubt he's loaning him out for no reason.
Yeah, well aware of the motives and all that but, it leaves me scratching my head tbh.
Rafa got alot of stick last year for not playing him when he was supposedly fit.
If woy is looking to loan him out now there is obviously something else going on.
I'd like to know what is actually going on, the guy is obviously a gifted footballer but there's something not quite right there.
An absolutely amazing, Kubrickesque, video from the most recent shuttle launch.
Nasa put a camera on the solid rocket booster which is the big ass white fuel tank that helps launch the shuttle but pulls away at a certain point.
Watch from 1:45ish on for the real action.
Just stunning.

Yeah it is strange, maybe he's just not settling or something, another thing that struck me from reading that article was that it sounds like Aqui may have demanded regular first team football and because Roy couldn't guarantee it he agreed to a loan deal instead of selling him for a cut down price, since he talks about protecting his value and similar.
TBH, I'd be surprised if Aqui ever plays for you guys again.

I really doubt it's his wages that are the problem.
Relatively, he was a big money signing and as I said above, it's all a little confusing tbh.
I can't see him hanging around on loan deals and all that shite when he could probably get a move to a decent club playing first team football.
Feck me, just saw the biggest spider I've EVER seen (outside of a zoo) in my sink as I go in to brush my teeth, it's body was about the size of a bee, with legs twice as long again. I'm assuming it was a spider anyhow, I didn't hang around to count its legs, had to open up the plug hole to get rid of it and it wasn't going easily!
I always used to laugh at people on boards saying they were freaked by a big spider but now I know the feeling, honestly it must have developed near toxic waste or something, it wasn't natural for Ireland!

Size of a bee?...meh!
Try unpacking a pallet of bananas at 5 in the morning
LOL at croke park at thinking a bit of mesh is going to hold back the crowd of any of the 4 teams left if they win the All Ireland
Not that i agree with the pitch invasions but if Kildare manage to win it this year good luck with a bit of mesh after nearly a century and all that. Not that it will happen mind
I thought he was an awful plonker at the start, still is a bit. I'd kind of like to see him win to piss Corin and Josie off.
What do you like about Sam?
X can be anything, any number, that is what’s CRAZY about X.
Because X doesn’t roll like that, because X can’t be pinned down!

This fucker was in my house a few months ago, couldn't get a steady pic because I was shitting myself that he'd jump onto me.
