Played sabotage while at a house in basel when I was hitching two months back. Have never even heard of the game before but absolutely loved it by the end of it!! Myself and this lithuanian guy were actually in stitches trying to constantly re-bluff each other and had every single other person in the room extremely confused even the ones on our teams. I need more of this!!! haha
Most people tend not to realise that boardgames aren't like monopoly any more, they are actually fun.
Think Zod has played a few. There's always been talk about getting a live game going at some stage, but i can't see it happening. Put the board game on your list to Santa
There is a few versions of werewolf (Lots of cool roles, I generally get voted the sheriff, who gets two votes and gets a shot if he is munched, crowd here would do great with that one ), there's also the resistance
Bluff (and call bluffs!) to victory in this card game with no third chances.
Played everything from exploring mansions and one of you turns evil and kills you all to formula one racing games, whatever people like there is something for it. Pints add a bit of spice and shouting.

If the UK police were motor mechanics their favourite tool for fixing dents in cars would be a bulldozer. What the fck with the international arrest warrants, extradition proceedings against the parents of the five year old kid? I'd imagine they were just highly keen to get their kid proper treatment rather than shitty UK NHS treatment.
Bit of the auld result based thinking there!
SPOILER
What if they were a couple of mongs who didn't fancy missing their holiday? (not as if England doesn't have a history of producing fuckwits like that!)
Parents take kid out of hospital without telling anyone why, fuck off out of the country with him, doctors raise the alarm saying the kid is going to run out of meds...
Aaahhh sur it will be grand!
SPOILER
Find the kid, stick him a hospital bed, work from there!

When I first heard about it the radio news was focusing on the religious issues. Then I read the guardian report about the families reason for it and the beam treatment they were trying to get for the kid. As a parent I can totally empathise with them for this. I would do anything to try and help my kids.

As default though, we'd probably assume they're highly interested in their kid's well-being!
NHS is a fairly awful system and the Spanish healthcare system is well known as being miles ahead. (Spain ranked 7th best in the world, UK 18th; wiki source).
As a sidenote from that ranking list: well played to the Russkis for having the 130th ranked healthcare system. I'd guess you'd have to be deliberately infecting your patients with ebola to achieve a placing like that.
NHS is a bit ropey alright; all more worried about keeping their jobs that treating people
I'm lucky to have a NHS doctor I can get an appointment with fairly quickly
Probably due to the fact they are all Asian and the neighbours are all Chelsea fans (amirite CHD)
Pay for the dentist though!
However the NHS is not the polices job, polices job was making sure the kid is safe!

Is there anyway of knowing which side is correct here? (like, have any non-NHS experts made a comment on it?)
My main question about this is why a parent who does a bit of internet research thinks they know better than the NHS specialists who were previously involved. It's not like they told them that treatment would be great but they couldn't afford it.

you really have to be your own advocate when it comes to healthcare in this country, and i am sure the same goes throughout the world.
Just because they specialise in it does not make them the best either.

Whether or not the treatment should be availible on the NHS is a different discussion. But I can't imagine that taking the child on the run is ever the right thing to do. Even if they got to Switzerland (or where ever), could they afford the treatment privately? But it'll be grand "we have food supplements and Calpol"...FFS
It makes them better than a parent looking at a website.
I would say it was more of a desperation method. So many times we read of people who were told they had something incurable and they have gone elsewhere for a second opinion and getting the treatment done and surviving, and when it comes to your own children you feel you have to try and would prob believe in your own mind because you can not face the thought of your child dying that what you are doing is correct.

Second opinion is fine. They did a self diagnosis second opinion though which is not fine imo. They then got a ferry to France and drove to Spain. If they took a flight to Spain/Switzerland or wherever and got the kid straight into hospital then that's one thing, but unless I'm mistaken the kid wasn't in hospital anywhere when they found him 3 days after leaving hospital in England?

Germany being so low is the most surprising thing on that list. Scandanavian countries fairly low too, they're always top of these type of lists.

I have no idea of the details. And I am not condoning what they have done. I am just saying that the fear of losing him may have them made quick decisions that may not be have been for the best. The fights would have been expensive, they have 6 other kids I think and a boat is a much cheaper option. Who knows exactly what they were going to do.

If they say they were prepared to sell their property, etc to get the expensive treatment, I doubt flights being expensive would be an option. I'm sure more details will come out over the next while though as we don't have the full picture yet.

They have a house in that part of Spain, so i'd imagine they consulted a medical person there on treatment. Might be giving them too much credit though. Obviously this is all speculation, but think the parents have to be given a bit of an assumption of not wanting to harm their kid.
I'm not making any assumptions on that part. I've no idea why it was mentioned in news reports so far that they are Jehovah's witnesses, but I wouldn't be surprised if it had some relevance yet. They have history of denying their kids medical treatment for religious reasons before so may well be the case again.
From what I know proton beam is not commonly used on the brain because of the energy levels needed to target it that deep.
The usual choice for brain radiation is between targeted radiation which targets just the tumour area and is usually used where there is a chance of eliminating or providing a long term respite from a small number of tumour sites and whole brain radiation which no matter what way they dress it up is essentially a palliative care option.
On the wider point you cannot blame the media from going for a knee jerk reaction once they herd that the family are fucking Jehovas.
Also its odd that the family couldn't negotiate to bring the child for what I guess would be in this case seen as an experimental treatment elsewhere if they have the resources to pay for it themselves.
If they say they were prepared to sell their property, etc to get the expensive treatment, I doubt flights being expensive would be an option. I'm sure more details will come out over the next while though as we don't have the full picture yet.
At a guess, I would imagine the air pressure on board a flight would be dangerous for a kid in his condition

By God Spurs were played off the park by Liverpool.
Was having difficulty understanding why Quinn as co-commentator was going on about how great Balotelli was playing. Didn't think that myself. Sterling was amazing though.

Some performance so far from Donegal, but still 20 mins left. Dublin don't look like getting back into it, but if there is any team that can turn it around it's them.
20 minutes in Dublin were 5 points up and playing like the 1/10 was the value bet of the year.
30 minutes later they are 8 points down and running around like headless chickens

Delighted for Donegal. Treated like a Division 4 team this week by the media. Dublin are a great team and will win more all Irelands but Donegal won Sam two years and were treated like also rans.
Had a score on aswell to make it sweeter. Sorry for aftertiming (tried to upload pic of bet but can't figure out how to do it).
Well done to Donegal but can we all just agree that Gaelic Football is the most rubbish sport around?
lol, 3 great games in a row now in the championship and you come out with this crap. The latter stages of the football championship this year have been far better than the hurling.

Ah now, limerick kk was a cracker!! missed tipp cork game though so can't comment. Normally not a fan of the football but the last 3 games have been outstanding, just skip the first 20 mins imo

Limerick-KK was a good game alright, but the 2 quarter finals were both mismatches, Cork never showed up v Tipp.
On the other hand, we've had the 2 Kerry-Mayo classics, todays game, Donegal v Armagh and Mayo v Cork all good/great games.
I'll always favour the auld hurling as everyone knows but the football has been pretty good this year especially at the business end of things
