Lol online slot players
Press release from Party a month ago
$45 SPINS UP TO $4,978,336.62 ON THE MEGA FORTUNE WHEEL!
GIBRALTAR, GIBRALTAR -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 12/08/09 -- The Gold Mega
Jackpot at http://www.partycasino.com/, sister site of
http://www.partypoker.com/, has finally been hit and one lucky player
is a staggering $4,978,336.62 better off! The jackpot was by far the
biggest in the industry and is a landmark for the world's largest
online casino!
The lucky player is 'gamago,' a member of the PartyGaming VIP Club,
the Palladium Lounge, http://www.palladiumlounge.com/ from Germany.
He was delighted by his record breaking win.
"I was so shocked when I won the jackpot and the news still really
hasn't sunk in! I have to say I had my eye on the big jackpot but I
really don't play aiming for them, I play for fun. I have won $50,000
and $100,000 jackpots before but nothing on this scale. It is
unbelievable that one spin has given me nearly $5 million!"
The fateful spin came at 20.42ET on December 2nd. The stake was $45
on popular PartyCasino.com Gold Mega Jackpot game, the Mega Fortune
Wheel. The screen exploded with congratulations and colour as
'gamago' turned $45 into $4,978,336.62!
Clearly, nearly $5 million is a life changing amount of money but
'gamago' has no real view on what he is going to be doing with this
record windfall. "To be honest, I don't have any plans on what I am
going to do with the money as yet."
A PartyCasino.com spokesman said: "We would like to congratulate
'gamago' on taking down this monster record Gold Mega Jackpot and
making online gaming history. We assumed the jackpot would reach $5
million and stated as such but this record Gold Mega Jackpot hit
shortly after we published those fateful words! 'gamago' is a valued
member of the Palladium Lounge and we wish him well with his newly
found mega riches!"
ONLINE betting firm PartyGaming reported fourth-quarter revenue up by
a third yesterday, helped by a single gambler who poured more than
half of his Pounds 3.1m jackpot straight back into its slot machines.
The punter grabbed the huge rollover on the group's PartyCasino site,
after PartyGaming hiked the amount it pays out for jackpot wins.
But after withdrawing Pounds 1.3m, he ploughed the remaining Pounds
1.8m into the group's slot machine games and lost the lot.
The unexpected cash injection helped PartyGaming to increase revenue
by 32pc to Pounds 87.2m during the quarter, but the company also cited
strong growth in all four of its divisions - casino games, poker,
bingo and sports betting.
The firm, up 0.2p to 285.1p, said the improvement in its trading
figures would push underlying earnings for 2009 'slightly ahead' of
expectations.
It was a stunning turnaround for PartyGaming, which struggled in the
first half of the year due to an unusually large number of draws in
Premier League games.
Chief executive Jim Ryan is thought to be close to tying up a merger
with Austrian-based rival Bwin, in a deal that would create a Pounds
2bn gaming titan.

Statistics question: If you have a hypothesis and you test it for significance and you get a p value of 0.05? Therefore it is significant and we can reject the null hypothesis. Is this all correct?
Well first of all it depends on the significance level that is deemed appropriate at the start of the test. If we have a 95% confidence interval then you have an ambiguous case with a p-value of .05, but in practice you could always go to a further decimal place and make it greater than or equal to .05 (This kinda highlights a weakness of misapplying results though...). Sometimes a 95% confidence interval isn't appropriate. Also, if you apply a strict above or below criterion to p-values then you won't be correctly understanding the results.
So, in this does it mean the probability value is 5%??? As in 95% of the time our hypothesis is correct or what does this mean in layman/ real world terms??
Dunno anybody who says "probability value"! A p-value of 5% doesn't mean that 95% of the time the null is false. It is just the probability that a a sample statistic of the magnitude obtained would be obtained from this sample size were the null true. That may take some thinking to get your head around (no slur on you, but just saying that this is an idea not to simply look at and say OK. It took me a bit of thinking before I got my AHA! moment with this concept), but it is very very different to saying that 95% of the time the null is false.Foldaramus et foldarabimus

I haven't done hypothesis testing in a while, so this may not be completely up to scratch. But I think if you make it into poker terms to make it more obvious.
Null Hypothesis
AA > KK
Alternate Hypothesis
AA </= KK
At Alpha of .1
You will get a p value of .1805
Text results appended to pokerstove.txt
61,642,944 games 0.062 secs 994,241,032 games/sec
Board:
Dead:
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 81.946% 81.71% 00.23% 50371344 142614.00 { AA }
Hand 1: 18.054% 17.82% 00.23% 10986372 142614.00 { KK }
However, if we take a significance level (alpha) of .3, we can reject the alternate hypothesis and say that with 70% confidence, that AA > KK (as p < alpha)

The correct interpretation would be that we see this value 5% of the time if there is actually no decrease in health from elevated stress levels. Nothing more.Foldaramus et foldarabimus

So im not selected for the jury service again today but its the last day i have to attend and im not going back to work like the previous days, instead i decide to stay and mince around town. Before that i made for the Lillis court room 6 as a ghoul but i was thwarted when i spied an advance group of ghouls being told by the court guards it was full and they cant let anyone else in.
So i go into Capel st/Mary st where i take the oppertunity to get my
hair cut by the blue dress girl lookalike without the buxomness of blue dress girl. I have her pegged as a 90% certainty she's Italian but no she's Romanian. She was asking about holidays and i tell her her about the Georgie Hagi tv ad i seen and ask her to confirm if Georgie Hagi is as much a legend in Romania as i think he is and she says "he was a legend". I picked her up on that point and stated that once someone is a legend they stay a legend even through retirement just to help make her understand that the term legend isnt meant to be a fleeting term.
She tells me she likes Romania and may go back for a week this year but prefers the quiet of the countryside rather than the city towns and the gypsys.
She tells me Transalvania is a great place and i bite hard not to bring Dracula up for fear of it sounding hackneyed so instead just nod along.
I tell her im surprised you like the tranquilty as i had you pegged as a party girl but she tells me she doesnt go out and doesnt drink. She asks me more questions than i deserve to be asked and gives my scalp a good old rub at the end which never happened before at a barbers(Thank god i branched out from Tommy's barbers). Had lunch at an Italian place on Capel st and a pint in tempu bah before stalking the bookies.
In the meantime im dying for a leak so i hit boylesports because as i know they have jacks where pp dont, but theres one goon after the other going in there and as bad as the situation is i have visions of what the standing area is like and puts me off
so i hit the pavement until i come across a mc donalds, now most amatuers bursting to go to the jacks in a fast food joint like this will just walk in off the street and make for the toilets running the risk of getting collared by security despite their customers only policy of toilet useage. Not me, in i stride up to the counter with coinage in my hands making out that im an ordering john whos suddenly changed his mind to make for the jacks before ordering. Not that my vigilence made any difference as the lazy security guard was straddled over a bin facing the opposite direction.
back to bookie basecamp when from inside the bookies i spy a massage parlour across the street and resolve to have a match bet at 5/6 at Meydan and use the proceeds to cover the massage. Instead the bastard gets beat but that doesnt stop me heading across for the massage anyways because i'll be damned if im going to be thwarted twice in the one day.

Does any regular here subscribe to the mindset of samanthajane above? I think it is always one way on the matter in this thread and I'd be interested in someone I know making the argument for owning their own patch above all else.
My longer term view was to get "that stuff" out of the way and be mortgage free in my late 30's to allow me to have more flexibility later in life.
Horses for courses.
