Some fierce soft tackling in the lead up to their winning try, not sure who it was that comically waved at the scorer as he breezed past because of the commentary being in a foreign language

I’ve actually never heard Sean South described as a terrorist before. We are talking about a period of Irish history just post the formation of the Republic and a decade before the civil rights movement in the North. I think that’s a shaky enough description to be fair.

Nah, 5starpool said he shouldn't really call people cunts a while back so that was his not so subtle way of calling me a cunt.

Clare man living in Limerick. I brought my 4 year old to the homecoming in the Gaelic grounds. Sean South was belted out about 20 minutes before the team came out. 10 minutes later zombie was. Everyone sang along to both. Both are Limerick songs.

Also terrorist??? It wasn't Canary Wharf.

Opened that Jameson Black Barrel last weekend when I ran out of beer. Finished the bottle between last night and tonight. Real smoky kinda flavour off it and goes down way too easy.

IF he had been playing I’d doubt Leinster would have lost. Ian Nagle started well than gifts them field position via a daft penalty and then stupid turnover ball to score the winning try. James Ryan easing his way back knowing his position is very secure.

Gareth Davies should have been yellow carded for the knee drop on James Lowe as well. I’m annoyed Leinster lost but they have at least 10 players to come back in so I guess I’ll have to take it on the chin.

Didn't watch it but, will catch up tomorrow, you can guarantee the periodisation of their S&C will be very heavy at the moment, leading up to important heineken cup games, no interest in pro14 this time of the year

Oh I know. They still had it in them to win. Dev toner and Cian Healy were fantastic. Unreal good for a first game back tbh. Fergus McFadden on fire as well.

Sad are the homes round Garryowen

And the banshee cry rings every vale
                                          Round the Shannon side
That city of the ancient walls
The broken Treaty Stone, undying fame
Surrounds your name - Sean South of Garryowen.

Thinking about it this century we've had Early Doors, Peep Show, Extras, Green Wing, IT Crowd, Gavin & Stacey, Phoenix Nights, Detectorists, Smoking Room, Outnumbered, Vicious, Inbetweeners, Car Share & The Thick of It. And theres probably loads I've missed.
But the point is that the whole idea that there's no longer any good comedy on UK TV is a bit mad - ok very little will get 15 million audiences any more but there's still some great quality out there.

No relegation, "no cold rainy nights in Stoke" so to speak as well. The sheer level of physicality and pressure involved in games in England and France make our lives so much easier.

No relegation, "no cold rainy nights in Stoke" so to speak as well. The sheer level of physicality and pressure involved in games in England and France make our lives so much easier.
True but it’s how it should be in the other domestic leagues tbh. There isn’t time to prioritize internationals, European cup and the domestic games. Plus it’s good to give exposure to Rory o Loughlin or Josh Murphy to see what they have.

I'm still only about half way through it as like Sapiens I just read it a few pages at a time. Very good alright, something everybody should read really.

Does he write well? Vaguely remember, but maybe not, trying to read something he wrote on topic similar to Jared Diamond (of Guns, Germs, and Warfare fame), and finding it not being great by comparison. Might be misremembering him though.
Pretty sure I mentioned Diamond before when comparing his most famous to Sapiens and you said something along the lines of "unparalleled genius"(hard to disagree).

The Rational Optimist is similar but puts the focus on progress as being a result of trade, markets before cities where Pinker claims the speed of progress since the Enlightenment is due to changes in ideals, it's just a different positive perspective on how we're at this point in time. How the Mind Works is apparently his best.
