Sam Holden is such a nice cool guy ...
Lee Davy sits down with the former November Niner, Sam Holden, to talk about philosophy, feminism and Page 3.
It's an article about feminism and philosophy.
His twitter is interesting ...fellow philosophy fan and seems really nice
He seems a happy balanced person..i think poker needs more of that personality type. He is interesting because he is interested
Also has really cute accentLast edited by Guest; 21-04-17, 00:04.

I commend religious people who genuinely put people's interests to the forefront of what they do. I don't think this is acting in that vain though.
It's not for the benefit of the women patients the Sisters of Charity will own it. It's for their own.
This order in particular should not be involved they are not suitable given their past.

Sorry for spamming.
Bookies and casinos in general are vermin lol honour they will do anything in there power to not pay and the average punter is only a mug in there eyes delighted he got away with it.

He had to get permission from Tallaght instead.
Being so aggressive it likely would have had detrimental effects on a foetus. So there was a condition inserted that patients would use contraceptives (even condoms, not necessarily drugs).
The ethic committees at Vincents and The Matter blocked their patients from taking part. While other locations went ahead. They may have accepted it after adjustments were made to the study. But any sort of delay is ridiculous. I'd assume that it's a completely standard condition.

Charity in this case doesn't refer to benevolently giving to the poor and needy but to the religious virtue of charity.
Charity is the theological virtue by which we love God above all things for his own sake, and our neighbor as ourselves for the love of God

I'd like to see it run by who ever is most qualified for the job. I don't think their gender has an impact on that.

There is no such thing as an average mug not to me. And people who run casinos or work there are not vermin.I don't think I have ever met anyone I would call vermin in my life. They are just hard working people and generally it's a nice community both company and customer.
The weakness in the law that allows him not to pay fails to protect you if someone refuses to pay you. Other customers who lost would have had to pay up also. So it puts them on an unequal footing. I am certain others lost and were disappointed.
I accept I don't understand the nature of the bookie customer relationship as you or most on here as I don't bet. And I accept it's a nuanced one.
I think O'Shea's actions tipped the balance though and were over the line. Apart from that ...he seems obnoxious.
My brother worked in a bookies part time while in college and he always tried to treat customers with respect. And he certainly didn't see them as mugs.
Of course i need help! HAVE YOU READ MY POSTS!

I do agree with you which is why it can't be owned by an organization run by men and dominated by men.
It's a maternity hospital. It shouldn't be own by an organization that discriminates against women and by an order with huge history of abusing them.
I do appreciate the number of men who put female and male patients needs and humanity above religious dogma. But none of these men are likely to become nuns and own this maternity hospital.
That is actually discrimination I think men should be allowed be nuns if they want to!
You would rock a veil Mellor!
I would make a great pope ..but it ain't going to happen...but fair is fair it's a private religious institution ..that owns some of our public services...
What I am saying is women will never get to shape that on an equal footing.
Umkay ..Imma done now.

Writing an article for a rugby magazine, have to edit it, clean some bits up and flesh others out a bit but this is rough draft to the first half. Easy enough to follow so far?
Lately, it seems that to be successful you must have a good culture and environment. These words are being used more and more frequently but what do they look like and how does one go about creating them?
For me, regardless of what sport or business you are involved with, it is about inspiring people to believe that they are more than just themselves. To inspire them to want to make a difference and contribute to something bigger. Rugby is too tough a sport to just be about 15 players chasing a ball around a field. It must be about something much more.
I believe an inspiring environment should look like an old Roman or Greek temple. A strong foundation, supporting larger base stones which then underpin the columns which supports the roof which promotes who you are and what you believe in.
The foundations are your values, these values should be shared by the entire organization, everyone should believe in these values. You should be proud of your values and what they represent. They may not be public or ever seen but they will define how stable your entire environment is when difficulties occur.
On these values the single most important thing you can do is to create a growth mindset across all levels of the organization. A growth mindset is one developed through hard work, embracing challenges and learning from failures. It stems from praise and research into it has been pioneered by Prof. Carol Dweck at Stanford University. It is rewarding the hardest working player each week rather than the one who played the best, it’s praising players for developing their skills through effort and struggle rather than praising the talent or intelligence.
On this fundamental stone two other key approaches must be present. Firstly, an athlete focused approach. This is where you as a coach provide an environment for athletes to possess ownership of their goals, growth and future development. We do this because it creates a sense of belonging and success is rarely about winning but rather them achieving their goals. The key here is to develop an understanding of why they are involved and how you can help them. This supportive coaching style helps to improve trust across all levels.
In tandem to this a games based approach is essential. It helps with making decisions under pressure, applying skills and learning tactical awareness through an understanding of the game they were playing, what they were trying to do, why they would use a particular move and that there is no universally right or wrong answer. It all depends on your position, timings, skill levels and the situation. This is creating subjective reinforcement. Too often coaches work on skills in isolation and then get frustrated when the skill work does not transfer over to the game. Subjective reinforcement means that the athletes must pay attention to the feelings in their bodies, results of their actions and they are building muscle memory, not just relying on coach feedback.
A growth mindset where the athlete embraces working towards their own goals while recognizing the cues, patterns and scenarios to execute their skills is what we should strive for from these three main ideas.

Architecturally, that looks like a very weird structure, so it might be worth trying not to pile everything on top of each other, and finding another way to create space and linking them all in.
Out of curiosity, did you read Dweck after it was recommended here or had you read it before?

I read an article about Dweck and growth mindset years ago, completely forgot about it until a presentation at the crusaders where somehow I knew the answers to what they were asking to the extent that it was assumed I had read the book. From my understanding the book is not worth reading if you can get the basic concept.

Agree that the Dweck book is not worth reading once you get the concept, but think every parent, educator, person involved in helping developing others etc. should understand it.

Too academic and remote for me Trippie.
It's a rugby magazine not a scientific journal. I'd be expecting some examples, some stories something that a rugby fan/amateur player/amateur coach could take away as a nugget of wisdom and/or entertainment...
. Rugby is too tough a sport to just be about 15 players chasing a ball around a field. It must be about something much more.
I read a great article recently where the journo was talking to a pro rugby agent about the life and the genuinely modest earnings in the pro ranks below the international tier and it was fascinating. You've been at the coal face as a coach for players looking to build a career in a growing professional sports entertainment business. I'd imagine you'd have lots of interesting personal truths to share...talking about motivation and a growth mindset in that "world" could be very interesting.‘IF YOU had not committed great sins, God would not have sent a punishment like me upon you.” Genghis Khan
