Heart update - minor rant
Today I had my stress test here in Malta. Went in good spirits, expecting to hear all is fine and dandy. Sure I have had countless heart scans, halter monitors and ECG done in Ireland.
I go in, get wired up and they get started. I was taken off my blood pressure meds on Sunday in prep for this. Been out walking and trying to get my cardio fitness a BIT better. Running up and down the stairs too lol.
The test seems ok, They stopped it after 10 mins after I had been running for a few mins. The Dr was beside me and chatting on and off. Things going great. At the last stage I did I was feeling a bit out of puff but didn't break a sweat. The Dr called the other one over and they pointing at something. They stop the test and I get a chair put behind me and was asked to sit.
They kept watching the charts and said they wanted another opinion off another cardiologist. I feel kind of panicked at this stage. I then after 2 mins get asked to stand up and they keep watching. I knew from my fitbit my HR had gone down a good bit anyway.
Got unplugged and asked to get dressed and wait in the little room just outside. They come out and explain about my ST depressions worsened in my last stage and at recovery and they concerned. They then get another cardiologist to look and bang, I have to come back for a mibi scan where they inject a dye into my arm and make me do the stress test again and see where the problem is.
Not done a stroke of work today, been in a bit of a daze tbh. The thought of heart surgery scared the bejesus out of me. I will know more in 6 months when I see the cardiologist after all the tests are completed.
Trying not to worry about it, but it's difficult
They saw in Malta some of the ECG I had done in the last couple of years in Ireland and said it was showing then. How the fuck was nothing mentioned? I have seen Cardiac departments in Letterkenny General, Sligo, Crumlin and the MaterDei.
Not fucking happy!

I predicted that this would happen so I'm not at all surprised to see that the N7 from Kill to the N9 junction is actually moving a small bit better than a normal Friday despite the route being a sea of cones, narrowed lanes and no hard shoulder.
Fairly sure that if at peak times they always put a rigorously enforced variable speed limits and had the tow trucks in place to take every minor prang off the road immediately there wouldn't be any need to be building extra lanes and bigger junctions. The trick is to make it difficult for people to continue driving like idiots.
The fucking morons who get a bit of a bump and refuse to move their car off the road until the cops arrive should be put down... instead they get a fucking 60K jackpot courtesy of out bewigged friendsTurning millions into thousands

Then to:

Thoughts and suggestions? This may or may not be an original thought of my own.
All efforts were made to make this thought original but with the abundance of thoughts in the world the originality of this thought cannot be guaranteed.

There's supposedly talk that the proximity of Phase 3 to the town will allow for more footfall in the town. I've thought for a while now that the town/businesses have done a poor job thus far in capturing some of those customers.
Best of luck with the unit if it goes ahead.

In 8weeks, 8kg would be a big loss. With water loading you could do lose another 4 in a week.

There's a major flaw with fitness goals and competitions centred around weight loss.
You're going about things all wrong if there's an 'end goal' or a goal weight. Of those that dont fail most don't maintain, they chalk the achievement off and slack off.
Achieving mental and physical fitness should be the goal, a goal that never ends. Weight loss usually naturally follows but it doesn't have to. Focus on improving the health of your heart, your lungs and your mind rather than your waistline and the experience will be far more rewarding and enduring.I hold silver in tit for tat, and I love you for that

5 minute job and it claims to be within reasonable accuracy of a full dexa scan. Whether it is or not, it's very handy for keeping an eye on progress. You can see a copy of the report it produces on that page.
Obviously they'd be delighted to let you try it out if they thought you were thinking of joining... (which I could only recommend anyway. I travel from near Naas 4 times a week.)

In your case it’s beating a 5k time.
In another’s it’s bodyfat% or “goal weight”. It’s all well and good to say oh just do fitness for your health, mental and physical but without something to measure and assess you won’t keep it up and so won’t realize those related benefits. This may or may not be an original thought of my own.
