How is flying Ryanair with a toddler worse than flying aer Lingus with a toddler? Also, her being ex Ryanair shouldn't matter should it? By the prices I've seen people post here, it's more than a few quid.

Seemed more or less the same when I logged onto AL

Flights I mentioned of E157 are off the Ryanair website.

6 am flight gets in around half 10 given you effectively an extra day.

Plus getting to and around the airport at that hour is alot handier in my own experience.

As for the toddler issue im unaware of a difference between the two apart from paying an extra E10 for reserved seating.

In the hospital now. Blood pressure was fine in docs. So presume sent here as a precaution to be hooked up to some heart yolk.

SATNAV, I got my blood pressure read last week and it was sky high, I thought this unusual as I felt great and could easily whip all the boys in the ‘running the hill’ thread. I waited a wee while and it had come down a bit but was still slightly high, waited another while and it was perfect. Funnily enough when it was at perfect I felt a bit tired (probably from all those BP tests) and not at all keen on taking on the ‘running up the hill’ boys.

I sometimes get slightly dizzy and attribute this to my drinking the bare amount of water. I also build up Fr Jack sized ear wax at times. So what I’m saying here is ANYTHING could have made you a bit dizzy and you are very unlikely to
drop dead at any second. Not a pick on ya. I’d say try some meditation to ease your wee stresses , get some sleep . The doctor/hospital should not just be looking at the BP, you should get some other tests done otherwise you are waiting your time sitting there for a fecking ECG that will show that your ticker is fine .

Failed to pull the trigger on going there when in Manchester last week, place i went was decent but definitely the wrong choice.

My bloods have just been done and ECG. Now waiting on doc to see me. Flying through it up here thank fuck

ah just the smiling politely at people you used to work with thing.
It's a difference of around €60 and I'm assuming it'll be a little less manic in AL/little more comfy . Having never flown with a toddler, but knowing the importance of routine, 7.30am flight means up at 5am. 6am flight means up at 3.30am.
I'm probably grossly over thinking it tbh
I think I'll leave the flights until jan sales anyway, flight is on a monday and not on school holidays so should be ok.

On the way home after an 18 day jaunt. First class rail tickets came in at 49.95 each from Budapest to Heidelberg. 11 hours or so travel time but reminded me again why rail travel throughout Europe really is the way to go. Comfortable, great scenery, decent internet and don't have to deal with airports

No direct flight, would have to fly to frankfurt (1.45h) and then its 45 mins in car or hour on train.

GP's are useless, at least in Ireland. Just throwing out antibiotics. Its the medicinal equivalent of "Say twenty 'Hail Marys' ...".

Went to a doc once with the shingles (was almost flatline energywise) he gave me some concoction to evacuate my bowels. Went back to him again, wtf is wrong with me I can’t move with the pain.

Fk me he sez , that rash, you have a very bad case of SHINGLES, (after he bothers to examine me). I head into pharmacy with the prescription, barely able to move. Some ol wan behind me. Jayz son, looks like you have the shingles there. Pharmacist was aghast when I gave him the new prescription. WAIT? He gave you that stuff yesterday? Shook his head. Now we ask the Pharma guy 1st and the doctor 2nd.

Another occasion my son , passed out, stopped breathing in the surgery (diff doctor) , he gave him oxygen and called an Ambulance. Paramedics arrived, (me nearly puking with shock) , looks like it’s a seizure fever.

Turns out that’s exactly what it was. Doctors misdiagnosed my late sister many times, twice giving her penicillin when she said and was on record as being allergic.

Ok GPs know more than me but in my experience their GENERAL knowledge can be a hindrance. I’ll go to one from time to time but I hedge my bet by looking up symptoms etc to make sure he doesn’t go looking down my throat with a stick when my knee is hurting me.

Yes not unattainable knowledge - you go to med school, then you do a further GP scheme for a few years and then you spend the rest of your career doing mandatory retraining.

Its the hardparts that are important - I am sure someone is saying they are overpaid idiots who throw antibiotics at people with hamsting pulls.

Most of everyones jobs is humdrum stuff, ambulance drivers spend a lot of the time driving but I still wouldn't want to replace them with uber and there are good flight simulators but I would rather a 10 year old with a playstation didn't land any of the planes I use.

They give up from the sheer monotony of going from brightest to not doing much.

My job in NZ was with a large cooperative for healthcare professionals in Auckland. It had approx 160 practices ranging from 1 doctor practice to 30+, it accounted for around 800k people.

I know there was a couple of GPs at the time that had allocated time slots for shorter telephone consultations.
We were in the middle of sifting through the data to check re-visit rates of those who had telephone consults when I left, surveys had gone out based on satisfaction etc.

They also had 24 hour nurses on call, I'm not sure if we have anything like that in Ireland. I'm sure they aired on the side of caution but the general idea with the nurses was, go to the hospital or no you'll be fine, ring GP tomorrow.
