No accommodation booked, just flights. Malaga was the decision but they are unsure which of the sounding areas to go for. City is an option but talks of Torremolinos etc.? Would you recommend Puerto Banus? Usual stag antics really.

Fuengirola waaaay cheaper for booze and food, but not sure what the nightlife is like.
Was about to post a link that I found on booze deals on Boards. Awesome deal today on Amazon for whiskey fans. 2x Redbreast (€62 in Tesco, £35 on Amazon) and 2x Green Spot (€55 in Molloys, £30 on Amazon) ordered for myself. Have family in UK and there at Xmas so easy for me, but you'll need a UK address or have Mocata pick up your order Merry Christmas!

We use it a few times a week. The key advantage is that it has loads of excellent one-pot recipes pre-programmed, and you can cook and brown stuff in it before turning on the pressure cooker part. Actually its excellent for cooking that chorizo+rice dish you recommended ages ago, cuts down prep time to minutes.

Out drinking with one of our Dutch suppliers, he's brought a few of his clients to Dublin for de session.
One French lad, turns over a million a week. Has teeth like he's from Sligo.
Gotta respect a lad worth millins not giving a bollix about getting the delph done.I hold silver in tit for tat, and I love you for that

John Crace in the Guardian nails the level the Tory government is operating at
David Davis knew he had a choice to make. Either to be in contempt of parliament for deliberately failing to provide full disclosure on his department’s Brexit impact assessments. Or to own up to incompetence and laziness. No contest. Incompetence and laziness won hands down. For one thing, they had the virtue of truth. For another, he was just too lazy and incompetent to do anything else.Turning millions into thousands

IrishInvestorBoards, help needed.
I got lump sum from work this year. It's currently sitting in my bank account, but considering the smart move it making it work.
I've looked into term deposit options, and they are predictably total wank. The price of zero risk I guess.
Obviously any option will have risk and return is never guaranteed. What would people consider to be good plays?
I'm guessing responses will be something like;

During the height of our bank crises the west brits on here were suggesting we should rejoin our former overlords across the water. There wasn't a big enough at the time. Hmmm same guys having fun watching those overlords sink in their own excrement .

There's a compulsory pension for all employees in Australia. So my various employers have put away 9-10% for me.
Paying off the mortgage doesn't really achieve anything. As when it's sitting in my savings it's deducted from the debt each month.
Has to be taken into consideration too, something like an index would have to average higher than mortgage rate to be +EV

Originally posted by Hitchhiker's Guide To... View PostWouldn't be rushing to put a lumpsum into the stock market at the moment. The regular monthly pension going into the market makes sense for obvious tax reasons and because thats a 40-year investment plan, but actually putting a lumpsum in seems highly risky.
