I had New Scientist but I think you could do better, perhaps Nature or National Geographic for something science related.

Nearly six years since I went for Christmas. Had great fun was cheap as well. Heard a lot of people not liking Nha Trang is a great time there a full roast duck for 8 euro bargain of a lifetime. There is a class water park in an island out from it would recommend also a park with a small waterfall ba ho it’s called good cycle or 30 mins in a moped. Do hire mopeds so easy to get around don’t drink and drive full duck in mouth optional. Teresa lived in Hanoi be the man to ask

Sex Education is quite good, comedy drama, a very light hearted show, Gillian Anderson is quite good in it too.

Costumes, cultural references and overall settings are good, lots of throwbacks with no specifics on the actual time/place it's set in.
Not the best show you'll ever see but a nice easy watch.

I watched the first couple of seasons of Stranger Things and also When They See Us. Lost interest in the former and the latter is good but the genre is pretty much exhausted at this stage.

It's been a long time since I was there but Vietnam is my favourite country in Asia. Absolutely loved it.


Hanoi

Binh Minh Jazz club is pretty cool even if you're not a mad jazz fan.

Koto is a nice cafe where pretty much all the staff are street kids getting a second chance in life.

Museum of Literature.

Wander around the old quarter

You can do a trip to Cat Ba island from Hanoi, stay one night on the island, one night on the boat in the south China sea. Midnight swims and not allowed but deadly craic if you get away with it.

Go to a local pub with locals, they will want to talk to you, it's not a scam, they are genuine nice people who are really friendly.

Do Karaoke, they take it very seriously, good craic.


Nha Trang

Wasn't mad about it, was a little seedy but did manage to have a full on argument with Tim Roth over a rake of beers as he was being a cunt and all Billy big balls and I decided to call him out on it, interesting evening.

Defo a place for partying, they do the boat booze party thingy and plenty of bars. The Sailing Club was one of the biggest if I remember correctly.



If you can squeeze it in, stop by Hoi An. Was my favourite place in Vietnam without a shadow of a doubt.

The eldest has been playing Go (Chinese chess) since September in school and we were dragged to a whopping four-hour Go Tourament today. It was actually amazing! All speed Go (10 mins per person per game) and on 9x9 boards to suit their ages. A cool ranking system so they fit seven games each into the four hours and moved up or down the ranking based on how they were doing. Its such an interesting game - there was one or two of the games where we were trying to hold ourselves back from the urge to shout something. Western Europe has clearly been cursed that chess took most of the market for strategic games as Go is way better.

Was watching Magnus Carlsen playing a blitz tournament today and I hurt my brain trying to follow him.
Its a thing of beauty to watch him narrate what he's doing but absolutely head spinning trying to follow.

i.e. there is no basis to void the race. From a betting perspective, if your horse falls or DNF in a 10 runner then its a case of business as usual. Why change that if 0 horses finish.
