More than 12 years trying to get a house back from someone not paying their mortgage.
A woman's family had taken advantage of the fact a vigilante group forced out a group of security men who were employed to protect her repossessed home, a High Court judge said.
Bank of Ireland Mortgage Bank obtained a possession order in 2004. After nearly 12 years of postponements and failed legal proceedings to stop the repossession by Mrs McLeish and her estranged husband Thomas, the bailiffs moved in earlier this month.Last edited by Emmet; 28-10-16, 08:52.

I would suggest that this is what you can expect if you spend a few years giving out about, investigating and generally soap boxing on corruption around speeding fines, how uneven the justice system is and how overpaid the legal profession in Ireland is.
Heavy handed indeed but I doubt anyone else would have been able to resit

All the early voting seems to indicate a massive swing towards Hillary, so I was assuming Trump with be well down to the single digits by now, but he just keeps rising day by day. Perhaps suggesting a bias in how that early voting is being reported.Last edited by Denny Crane; 28-10-16, 13:34.

As I said it is indeed heavy handed and that is petty and retaliatory but from the other side should she have been treated lighter than the letter of the law since as a member of the Dail she should be held to the highest standards.
Just my opinion and obv I am biased because I think she is a fool but she essentially decided that she had more important things to wait for the case to be called and yes I do think the judge called her case before he left because he saw that she had left. If I had left before I was called in that case I wouldn't have been recognised so the judge wouldn't have know any different.
Still tho if you spend years complaining about people getting lighter treatment for speeding and then complain when you get caught speeding and are prosecuted to the letter of the law and to the heaviest extent it is laughable.

ohh and have smart watches come and gone?
I'm using a Garmin watch with a built in HRM that records all my runs cycles and swims as well as steps and heart rate. I din't know that any of it means an awful lot but I do find all the data very motivational. The best or worst thing depending on how you look at was getting a connected weighing scales. . When I was losing weight it was easy to keep a record and stick it in a spreadsheet, when its slipping back on its even easier to avoid recording it , with this yoke there is no room for obfuscation or self delusion at all.
As with any of these things the most important part of the tool is the data and it is simplest to stay in the one universe. The garmin app and online tools are free once you have any device and with them having a full range of devices makes them the winner in the space ...IMO
Obv they are taking your data and selling it to potential employers, life insurers and kidney harvesters etc.
The smart watch part is just about useful to glance at messages you don't really need to see but other than that its not up to much.Turning millions into thousands

Hers was the last case on the list, at number 188
Towards the end of the court day, Judge Desmond Zaidan block adjourned all remaining cases numbered from 175 onwards to a further date, on the basis that they would not be heard that day. However, he instructed that Ms Daly’s case, at number 188, be heard.
He is clearly singling her out here
plus
Ms Daly was one of 102 cases listed before Judge Zaidan at Naas District Court.
At a point shortly before lunch, Judge Zaidan directed that all those cases listed from number 51 to 57, and 59 to 101 to make their way upstairs in Naas courthouse to Court Number 3 where Judge Alan Mitchell was sitting.
Ms Daly’s case was number 58.
Why bump 49 cases up to another judge and keep this one to himself? Again he is singling her out because he wants a go at her
Applying the letter of the law re the bench warrant / fine, etc is OK (even if it is way OTT) as it may look like he does not want a member of the Dail getting special treatment but he is clearly going after her with the above actions which is petty and retaliatory and IMO people who hold such an important position should be above this

Obv Daly is poison and a dangerous self obsessed wannabe demagouge but I wouldn't be a fan of Des Zaidan either, he seems to me unnecessarily harsh on minor drugs and a bit soft on motoring. I'm surprised by his behaviour on this I know he is very demanding of the solicitors in court but is usually fair enough with the general punter. It really does sound as if he got a bit overexcited at the thoughts of dealing with Daly.

First World problem alert. I have all my vino stored under the stairs per this:
SPOILER
Only problem is that with bottles all being different sizes etc, it's (a) difficult to stack them without them toppling over and out and (b) it's hard to find a bottle I might want if buried at the bottom of a pile.
Can anyone recommend where I might get racks (either made to order or ready-made) to resolve this appalling problem which besets me?"We are not Europeans. Those people on the continent are freaks."
