Meh. A black Bond would be fine as long as it wasn't done in a gimmicky way. There's really no reason why someone like Idris Elba couldn't play him. That said, at the first sign of a racism subplot it would stop being Bond and start being something else. An inherent aspect of the character is that he is privileged as fuck. They just have to avoid posting him to Apartheid South Africa and it's no big deal.
A female Bond is impossible to pull off IMO. There's only two approaches you can take on it. Either you make Bond With Tits, or you make a new movie about a distinctly female secret agent. Both have already been done a million times are completely uninteresting at this point.

Presumably the various filmmakers have already changed Bonds height, size, accent, eye colour, hair colour etc from that specified in the original Fleming novels.
So is changing his skin colour that much of a fundamental problem?
I am not a huge bond fan and when I watched spectre I thought it was pretty rubbish so I really wouldn't be overly concerned if they replaced him with a horse.
My point however was that Bond is basically meant to be real upper class British verging on minor royalty with a long family history of military service etc etc. I don't think I am to far from the mark to say there are not many black people in England who have large ancestral estates and grand family histories of service to the crown in the same way.
If you are making Bond a self made man who comes from Croydon it is a different film.
I dont really care about Flemmings legacy that much and wouldn't really care if they went down that route but I do think you would be changing the type of film quite a bit if you change his race or gender. I also always wonder why it is he will be black, not Chinese or Indian etc.

I watched the Man from UNCLE yesterday and found it much more enyoable than the recent bonds. The style and the 60's setting lent itself to spy films and espionage a lot better than modern day bond.

Bond's race is not the same thing as his gender or his nationality. Changing each thing has different effects on the character and should be evaluated independently.
In 2015 it's not implausible that a black man could become James Bond. There are some rich black folk sending their kids to Eton etc. They might be rare, but they exist. If treated carefully it could be done without affecting the character or storyline in any recognisable way. Certainly Idris Elba is a good enough actor to portray this accurately.
Anyone who thinks a black James Bond would automatically imply a gangster-rapping spy needs to have a serious chat with themselves.

Recently completed the black belt course, in the middle of my project. One of the best courses I have done although our lecturer was really really good which helped. Some of the statistics is very heavy and I'm not sure how often you'd use it but maybe they don't all focus on that side of it too much.

I enjoy the topic and as a topic its pretty simple to understand tbh, the tools make sense and while there is a certain amount of high faluting aspirational stuff the basing of it is sound. The application in a business sense seems quite difficult to master as it really involves a wholesale culture change for the most part, so a lot depends on your companies attitude towards it. Have visited some Shingo Award winning plants (eg Lake Region in New Ross), and the set up there is fascinating to see, and benefits really easy to see, but takes a long time and a lot of dedication to get to that level. On a personal level there seems to be plenty of demand for the skills as well.
Hate the fucking academic papers and writing mind.
Tell me this, how quick can you complete all the courses up to Black Belt?
I went straight to black belt and that was fine. I was assessed before start but at the end of the day they wanted course participants as it was 12K each so they weren't going to turn me down. One or two on the course wouldn't have been up to it imo. We were tested all the way through and this forms part of the overall assessment
We then get 1 year from the end of the course to complete our project and there is a full appraisal/presentation to get through. Not unreasonable though.
I'd imagine if you focussed on it you could complete BB training and a project in 3 to 6 months and be certified. No idea of what MBB entails but I'd imagine you need a lot of projects under your belt (excuse the pun !!)
Just to add we will be rolling out our own yellow belt training across the org. 2 people did the green belt and it is very handy. Have a project to complete but not as detailed as BB.
Just in case you have to start at the bottom and complete all levels.
