Pulled it out of the fridge last weekend and it was about 40 seconds away from going off.

Was absolutely intensely delicious.

They were all Irish, Cashel Blue, a Brie, couple of hard cheeses one of them smoked. Had a nice Tempranillo with it.

One thing I always thought about the EU is that when it works well, it's because of reciprocity and good will amongst member states. Greece doesn't seem to understand that.

Anyway, don't really feel qualified to join in your discussion. Really enjoying the rolling analysis you guys are giving though. The alternative is to follow it on politics.ie, which is just a minefield of lunatics. Even boards has its share of crazies. At least there's some sanity on here.

The other places are cesspits on the topic because so many posters want to use the event as validation of political idealogy / the current government much as those on the left wanted to hold Syrzia up as a new dawn of socialist politics.

I have no idea why the left were so eager to adopt these guys anyway. Left / Right / Center what all Greek governments have shared for a long time is incompetence and a lack of will to tackle the corruption and lack of responsibility in Greek society. You have to remember that the Greek electorate seems confused on the issue too. They elect Syrzia to get a new deal but no seem ready to baulk at going all the way.

Ultimately I think the conversation should be about securing the most orderly exit possible. In the absence of significant social reform, it is the best long term solution for both parties imo.

So by excluding the IMF from their 3rd bailout, Greece are asking for only ESM funds.

Germany contributes 27% of the ESM and so has a blocking vote over any package.

You'd expect that Tsipras would have been doing a little more sucking up and a lot less Nazi references if he'd thought that through no?
