I've spoilered that huge image for you.
I'm far from familiar with the bible but I doubt it mentions good friday specifically as one you shouldn't eat meat on. It may mention all Fridays though, but I still don't know why butchers would be closed? Pubs are only closed because of licencing legislation, I don't think butchers opening hours are covered by legislation.

I thought the drink thing was religious too. Made law because it was a predominantly catholic country? Some aul wan rang in radio kerry this morning because she was going door to door for charity and some aul lad offered her a drink and she was outraged someone would be drinking on good friday. I hope yer man was on a wind up. No reason for pubs to be closed. Silly law.

Remember eating a pepperoni pizza one good friday not thinking.
Went straight to confession and felt much better.
Bless my father for I have sinned. I ate a pepperoni pizza on good friday.
He gave me 30 lashes with his belt. Thought that was a bit harsh but I never did it again.Last edited by elbows; 03-04-15, 15:56.His rival it seems, had broken his dreams,By stealing the girl of his fancy. Her name was Magill, and she called herself Lil,But everyone knew her as Nancy.

Nothing wrong with a few days put aside of a year to awaken from the trance of consumption. Not sure it should be mandated, but at this stage anything short of that is not enough.
I spent about 3 hours earlier putting Kodi (XBMC) onto my tablet and getting various add ons for it. Is this really better than taking a break from such external trivialities and taking a bit of time to reflect on and contemplate themes such as shame, forgiveness, redemption? I'm not so sure.

Just got a letter off Irish Water about ringing to register, it was addressed to me and they said they contacted the owner of the house.
Our water is full of limescale and we have been buying bottled water weekly for the past 12 months since we moved in. The water is bad enough we have had to replace our shower head and kettle already.
I've no intention of paying so is the best move to ignore them or ring and explain the situation.Originally posted by ArmaniJeansI like this heat - some proper music innit.

I couldn't care less if the pubs are open or closed today. If you want drink you can get it.
I wonder though if the Government said ok Good Friday pubs open but the bank holiday is gone too (ie everyone go to work), how would people feel? Surely if we are going down the multi cultural religious route then it should just be a normal day in general?

Tech help needed:
My beloved and trustworthy laptop decided to not be so trustworthy as of last night.
Here is a file photo:
It is silver, or brushed aluminium or what have you. It's only laptop I've had that has never given me trouble, till now.
I went to turn it on, and the 'ive just turned on' blue light around the on switch comes on, but beyond a split second of the sounds it normally starts to make (fan?) it stops trying, like it just says 'fuck this' and doesn't go any further, nothing on screen, quiet as a mouse.
It hasn't taken any knocks. I'm clueless but I looked up some youtubery videos.
I tried:
- Taking out the battery, holding down the power button to discharge it. Then tried to start it then with battery out and also with the battery in. Same result.
- I checked to see if the ram was unseated. I felt right technical opening up the laptop with a screwdriver but it looked fine, took it out, put it back in.
I tried to find out how likely it is that ram dies/fails and it seems to be a fairly rare occurrence?
Caps lock light doesn't come on. Tried F2 to get into bios but nothing happens, it just doesn't seem to be firing whatsoever beyond a quarter of a second.
Laptop is just over 2 years old, I did order and start using a new charger from laptopchargers.ie as of 10 days ago, no idea if related.
Come to think of it, it blue screened for the first time ever last week, and that is the only time anything untoward has happened.

Didn't really know the Irish Open was on this weekend so it slipped my mind. When I found out earlier I decided I'd get some money out and head out for some cash from bookies... -> bookies closed, banks closed... Duh, I'm a fool!
After actually waking up I thought oh it's okay, I should have a nice bit in neteller from a few withdrawals a few days ago that I can just withdraw with my card-> not in there :/, normally takes 16 hours max wtf!!
Turns out Neteller was DoS attacked a few days back and one of my withdrawals(currently 68 hours later) is still not in my account. So frustrating!!
I go onto boyles chat as I only did a withdrawal 14 hours previous and they say you can cancel up to 24 hours after your withdrawal. The plan being to transfer some money for physical cash.
Sure they said, No problem they said, Cancel up to 24 hours they said. They lied. No they said, it was too late they said, they meant 12 hours not 24 hours they said.
Fuck my life. Enjoy the Irish Open fuckers.Go big or go homeless.
