I like that none of the Denmark people have a horse left in the SuperBowl, so no-one is going to burst into an early lead.

Result 1/40.
Handball - Mens World Cup.
1st. Denmark. 4 points. limpwhacker, RichieM, bohsman, premierstone, Strewelpeter, brady23.
2nd. Norway. 2 points. No-one.
3rd. France. 1 point. pokerhand, ArmaniJeans, bluezar, 5starpool, luckforsome, KevIRL, Flushdraw.
Completed Events.
Leaderboard.
Event 2, the oddity that is the Royal Rumble will take place very late tonight. Market seems to suggest Seth Rollins has the measure of his field, we'll see.
Live on Sky Box Office, hopefully it'll have a clean 1,2,3 and not some farce. New idiot management in work looking over my shoulder so won't get a chance to update until Monday evening.

Seth Rollins does indeed win.
Strowman throws Andrade over the top rope for another elimination. He takes out Ziggler next. Strowman and Rollins are the final two competitors in this match. They end up on the apron together and The architect hits a Stomp to get the last elimination and win the match.

Result 2/40.
Wrestling - Royal Rumble.
1st. Seth Rollins. 4 points. limpwhacker, RichieM, shrapnel, ArmaniJeans, bluezar, mdoug, luckforsome, KevIRL, Flushdraw, bohsman.
2nd. Braun Strowman. 2 points. No-one.
3rd. Dolph Ziggler. 1 point. No-one.
Of our other selections, Big E was 26th, Drew McIntyre put up a disappointing display in 9th place and Andrade Almas bubbled the points in 4th place. 5starpools pick R-Truth didn't get to compete as he had his entry ticket robbed off him by a woman wrestler who competed and finished 7th.
Let us speak no more of this entire event and remind me next year to find something else.
Completed Events.
Leaderboard.
Next event to finish will be the Superb Owl next Sunday night.
Its LA Rams (mdoug, 5starpool) against New England Patriots (myself, Lao Lao, pokerhand) for the 4,2 points.

I go into the lead in scenes vaguely similar to Father Ted and the raffle.
Bit of an unavoidable calendar gap now. Lots in play like Rugby, Ice-Hockey, Darts and Champions League soccer but the next events to complete won't be until midMarch when the Cheltenham Gold Cup and 6 Nations Rugby finish over Paddys weekend.

They've clearly thought this through quite well.
NINE new names will replace the injured Gary Anderson in the opening nine nights of the 2019 Unibet Premier League.
I did a 1200 word preview for a betting site on Sunday morning most of which has to be rewritten now. Fuck you anyway Ando.
For this competition we carry on regardless with points for 2nd and 3rd place league finishers. Harsh on the Ando backers as they lose their runner and also the field is compressed meaning everyone else is more likely to get points. Thems the breaks I guess.
By the way if Ando had been directly replaced by say Chisnall or Lewis then it would be the same - I really don't think there would have been any case for the new player to count as Anderson.

Should be some actual points movement at the weekend.
Cheltenham Gold Cup on Friday. Lots of Native River selections but a few others picked as well - Presenting Percy, Kemboy, Al Boum, Might Bite and Road to Respect (unlikely runner apparently).
Rugby tryscorer finishes on Saturday - Jonny May (Kev, premierstone) sitting pretty at the top currently. Popular pick Jacob Stockdale needs at least one try and probably two to get involved in the placings. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_S...op_try_scorers

Result 4/40.
Cheltenham Gold Cup.
1st. Al Boum Photo. 4 points. Premierstone.
2nd. Anibale Fly. 2 points. No-one.
3rd. Bristol De Mai. 1 point. No-one.
Popular pick Native River was 4th, Presenting Percy 8th. Kemboy unseated at the first, Might Bite pulled up 2 out and Road To Respect was a non-runner.
Completed Events.

Rugby 6 nations top try scorer is next to finish, tomorrow. Looking good for Jonny May (KevIRL and premierstone).

Result 5/40.
6 Nations Top Try Scorer.
A good 36 hours for Premierstone sees him leap to the top of the leaderboard.
1st. Jonny May. 4 points. Premierstone, KevIRL.
2nd. Yoann Huget. 2 points. No-one.
3rd. A 6 way tie I think. .16 point each. No-one we had (thankfully).
Popular pick Jacob Stockdale didn't have God on his side and finished down the list. Teddy Thomas and Stuart Hogg were limited by injuries.
Completed Events.
Leaderboard. Figure in brackets is number of changes used.
A special Green Arrow for Kev, he loves them but rarely sees them in FFL recently.
Bit of a gap again to the next scoring (events don't start finishing in bulk until May).
Next to complete will be the US Masters Golf the second weekend of April.
Lots of obscure stuff like darts, ice-hockey and rugby league are on-going, I'll give an update on them next weekend.

Selections for remaining events.
Quick update on the following which are are in play.
Rugby League
League table after 7 games of 29 in the regular season. Leeds (Strewelpeter) and Wigan (limpwhacker, Flushdraw) have had terrible starts and already look in trouble. Warrington (shrapnel) tip along nicely in second spot whilst St Helens(everyone else) have a 100% start. They did blow up in the playoffs last year after a similar season though.
Darts Premier League
Table after 7 of 16 games. Only the regular season counts and the idea is to get second as I thought MVG would run away it like the last few years. Hasn't happened that way so far. All looks very tight with Michael Smith (SP, AJ, bluezar) the only one of our selection to perform badly. RichieM needs Rob Cross to slow down a bit for a week. Gary Anderson withdrew but his backers have the likes of Wright, Wade and Suljovic to cheer on to minimise everyone elses points.
Rugby Union HCup
Quarter-Finals next weekend. Racing 92 (5starpool) v Toulouse (brady23) is a straight head to head. Everyone else is on Saracens or Leinster who have home quarter-finals and are on opposite sides of the draw.
Soccer Champions League
PSG (RichieM) the only elimination so far. For the rest of us there's a nice even split between City, Barca and Juventus.who avoided each other in the quarter-final draw. City will play Juve in the semi-final if they both win.
Ice Hockey
82 game Regular season is nearly over, which will be followed by six weeks of play-offs.
Only 3 selections between us. TampaBay (luckforsome, mdoug, 5 starpool, pokerhand) have been the best team and 2/1 favs for outright glory. Popular pick Toronto have done fine and will make the play-offs but will meet Tampa Bay early because of the stupid conference system. The other pick Nashville (AJ, premierstone) haven't been great but should make the playoffs and will at least be on the opposite side of the draw to Tampa.

Doesn't the draw only take place 36 hours beforehand now, so the change deadline will have passed? Though we'll have the T16 bracket which is the most important part I guess.

US Masters Golf next to finish, on from Thursday until Sunday. Sky Sports for the 4 days, also live on BBC for the last 2 days.
Probably be a late finish so likely Monday evening before I do an update.
A few people made changesto their selection in the Masters since I last listed remaining events so heres confirmation of what everyone is on.
A good spread of picks and with 5 points to the winner would be a nice one to bink.

Result 6/40.
Golf US Masters.
Points are 5-3-2-1-1. With a 3-way tie for second it'll be 6/3 = 2 points each.
Big tie for 5th as well but no-one we have tbtf.
1st. Tiger Woods. 5 points. luckforsome.
2nd/3rd/4th. Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Xander Shauffele. 2 points each. Flushdraw, RichieM.
5th. Doesn't matter.
Nice win for luckforsome sees him dot up the leaderboard.
Mixed results from changes - Flushdraw gains a respectable 2 points but shrapnel gets a big minus 5.
Completed Events.
Leaderboard. Figure in brackets is number of changes used.
Lots of events in play with Aussie Rules and baseball having recently joined the party. Will do an update over Easter.
Next to finish likely to be the World Snooker on the first Monday of May, followed a few days later by the HCup rugby.

Interesting one in the darts tonight AJ us Rob Cross fans praying for van Gerwen to whoop our mans ass or it's all over for us !! Tampa dumped out of the hockey 4-0 and Nashville and Toronto both tied at 2-2 in best of 7 in their respective matches for those interested. I predict none of us get hockey points !!

SPOILER
Selections for remaining events.
Rugby League
League table after 11 of 29 regular season games.
Leeds (Strewelpeter) and Wigan (limpwhacker, Flushdraw) have had terrible starts and probably need to be perfect from here on in to reach the playoffs (top 5). Warrington (shrapnel) look good in second place whilst St Helens (everyone else) lead the way.
Darts Premier League
Table with 4 games left. Looks like either MVG (mdoug, luckforsome, brady23) or Rob Cross (limpwhacker, RichieM) will get the four points for second place. Daryl Gurney (Flushdraw, 5starpool) has an outside squeak for third place, unlikely though.
Soccer Champions League
After a couple of minor upsets this week the only remaining team is Barcelona (limpwhacker, 5starpool, luckforsome, premierstone, brady23, Flushdraw).
1 point locked up and the chance of more, everyone else will be cheering on Liverpool to stop them in their tracks.
Ice Hockey Stanley Cup
Playoffs ongoing.
Hotpot Tampa Bay were surprisingly eliminated in the Round of 16. Nasville (AJ, Premierstone) are 3-2 down in their best of 7 games tie, whilst popular pick Toronto are 3-2 up.
Aussie Rules
Early days with just 5 of 22 games completed. Table here.
Richmond (11 picks) were surprisingly popular for a team who didn't even make the final last year. They've started fine with 3 wins and 2 defeats, as have Collingwood (limpwhacker, RichieM, shrapnel). Geelong (mdoug) have also had a foamy start. Only one struggling so far is Sydney Swans (5starpool) with just one win.
Rugby Union Heineken Cup
Saracens (limpwhacker, pokerhand, shrapnel, KevIrl, bohsman) already in the final with 2 points locked up. Leinster (9 picks) will try to join them today with a win over Toulouse (brady23).
Baseball
Standings after roughly 20 games of the ridiculously long 162 game regular season, followed by playoffs. Boston, Houston, NY Yankees, LA Dodgers and Chicago Cubs are our picks - all doing OK with LA (pokerhand) the best of the bunch so far. Very early days though.Last edited by ArmaniJeans; 21-04-19, 12:58.

Result 7/40.
Ice Hockey - Stanley Cup.
Our first blank with all selections beaten in the Last 16 stage.
1st. 4 points. No-one we have.
2nd. 2 points. No-one we have.
Semi-final. 1 point - No-one we have.
Semi-final. 1 point - No-one we have.
Completed Events.
Leaderboard. Figure in brackets is number of changes used.
Snooker next to finish. After Ronnies shock defeat all that's left standing is Judd Trump (mdoug, limpwhacker), Mark Selby (myself) and Neil Robertson (Flushdraw). Could well be another blank as Trump and Selby looked off the pace in round one, and Robertson has been Finkel-ed in the snooker thread.

The darts just got intersting. Rob Cross winning 8-1 tonight, and MVG losing 8-5 means Rob Cross tops the league and MVG slips into second.
It can still go anyway with Mensur in the top 4, but needs to play Cross/MVG in his final 2 games. Guerney plays Smith and Wright so he would hope to pick up 2 wins. Wade meets Cross in his final game. It's going to the wire.

More likely to be the Heinken Cup Rugby on Saturday when Saracens (5 picks) go up against Leinster (9 picks) for the 4,2 points. I'm at a wedding on Saturday, will update it on Sunday evening.
