Also Nicholes rated Ghizao as his most likely winner today in his betfair column even though he's got two odds on shots in the first two races. Whether that means he really rates Ghizao or the other two were far too short I'm not sure.

You know it's winter when there's a Southwell card every other day, horrific to watch but the track is very beatable. La estrella going for 10 Southwell all weather wins in a row in the 3.10. Think he'll start shorter than his current 1/1 price.Profit before people.

Moville runs off 119 in Downroyal tomorrow. On what I have seen this horse is an absolutely max bet job in this race. I have one concern. I am a little suspect about his ability to go right handed. Assuming this is a silly concern then go ahead and get shopping at the first opportunity.
Are you recommending a straight bet or is it to be e.w.?

In fairness the money was down and he ran pretty well (didn't see the race but sounded like he just blew up a bit).
anyway if you want to lose more or maybe get some back, there is good word for Up tonight in Churchill Downs 8.50 (AP O'Brien). Course its a breeders cup so that has to be taken into consideration. Certainly not lumpage imo.

He just didn't appear good enough to win it in fairness. Gave a good sweat all the same, thought his jumping wasn't great just ok'ish. I'll keep an eye out for him going the other way, there might be something to that.'Mental Toughness is doing the right thing for the team when it's not the best thing for you' - Bill Belichick

De Bromhead has to be a bit slow. He runs the 2 mile Champion chaser over 3 miles in a bog at Down Royal and then doesn't enter him in the one race where he might get the 3 miles and some decent ground.
I'd understand it if he has decided to stick to 2 miles but the clown will probably run Sizing Europe in some other 3 mile chase on heavy ground in Ireland

The way he finished the last day was a sorry sight and if he comes back to defend his crown next year it will be a remarkable constitution shown by the horse.... Not the foolish owners.

Any Chelts thoughts for the day?? The grands crus v CC race looks tough one to call. Will Cue Cards have a slight advantage having a run under his belt this season?
Wanted to take Crack Away Jack on but soon realised that it's a bloody terrible race, which almost made me flip reverse and back CAJ but alas I settled on Marley Roca at 28/1, just a small ew punt. Think he showed a bit of ability chasing last sesson at a reasonable level, hopefully his first run this season was just a cobweb duster and he comes on for that today as it was a pretty flawed performance. Chelts form is also a worry but think there's slight value in the price.Profit before people.

I've backed Grands Cru already for the Arkle ( yes I know mental, I just don't think he got home at Cheltenham or Aintree, the 3m hurdle division is awful apart from the monster) I posted it yesterday on Board horse racing.
I'll be backing him today, over what is probably going to be his trip eventually, I think he has too much speed to be a Gold Cup horse. Although I'm quite willing to be proven wrong there.
Crack away Jack was my big ante post Arkle hope a few years back but got injured ( why these smaller trainers insist on trying their crack novices in open company so early is beyond me, Tizzard with Cue Card, Lavelle with CAJ and I think Webber was going to run Time For Rupert in the Pillar last year aswell until he got sick) so I'll have a token wager on him today on his first start for PFN
Garde Champetre will probably win ( the race where they run around and around in the middle of the course till the favourite is in front and then they run up the straight )

Dunno, could be more plausible than it sounds. My Way de Solzen has already done a stayers/arkle double and dont think Grands Crus is the type of warhorse you need for the RSA.
Only problem its a serious serious Arkle this year.
Out of interest what price would you quote for the Arkle Gimmeabreak?
