Yeah, tis awkward. Coz for example some people picked a 5/1 shot for the Arc who bombed in a race last weekend and is now 25/1. So good chance they'll have to use a change to have a runner. Or the Harry Kane move might happen during the next few days and a few people would have to burn a change again or accept being on a non-runner.
So I think at best you'd have to be considered to have used all your 5 changes if I accept an entry. I'm loathe to just eliminate someone, so I guess the quicker you can get me entries in then the quicker we can get on track. Is next couple of days a reasonable target, or we talking weeks? If anyone else has any thoughts let me know here or pm, I'm definitely not Solomon.

Final day of the Ashes is Monday 31stJuly.
That's also the day of Irelands last group game in the Women's World Cup, and possibly the last game in that event.
Still nothing from RichieM. Not sure what more I can do, PMs, emails, tagging from here. Has been logged in today.
Normally one of the first to send entries in, so I guess there is 'something up', either technical or in real-life.
Hopefully he gets to me at some stage. I'll accept entries from him but penalise him some change chips, I think that's reasonable.
I guess if Harry Kane is sold or a racehorse gets injured or something before he sends an entry, then I'll have to allow people to change as Richie would have an advantage. That's where it gets messy for me.
Anyway, spreadsheet updated with all entries (Tab 'FULL'), usual please check if I've made any errors. New events from line 26 onwards. 2023 MultiSport Selections - Google Sheets
And Leaderboard updated with imminent events. I do like the way most of the events worked out, athletics medals in particular has a great range of picks.
Received from Riggz. Will give RichieM/Solks a day or two. Can't leave it much beyond Saturday lunchtime as there's a big horse-race which will affect the Arc market, so it just gets messy.
Usual rule that you can make changes to your selections until I post them up.
Just give me the other 21 events some time today or tomorrow Solks. Missing one isn't too critical, decent chance it'll be a blank anyway with us not socring in 270 mins).
Feck . I forgot all about this . I'll take honourable disqualification. Sorry AJ . dont wanna inflict extra work on ya. Tis only few pence . No proper wifi here so snookered myself
Sorry AJ completely slipped my mind. I'll take Kyra Caruso in the goalscorer thing and get the rest of the selections on to you in the next half an hour/.
I'm on Denise O'Sullivan in the imminent WWC Top Irish scorer (could change depending on starting XI).
Will post whatever picks have been sent for this event anyway by 11.
Another annihilation for JV, gap out to 7 minutes now. Just stay on your bike and grab second anyway Pog please.

Received selections from pokerhand, shrapnel, luckforsome, Strewelpeter. And I think I'm complete.

16 hours until the Womens Soccer starts so get busy. I won't be a dick coz ye've paid your money, but at the very least get me that selection + the two horse races + the 100M runner, and the rest can follow tomorrow evening.
Think everyone else has seen the deadline but not sure about RichieM. Seems to have chnaged job so his old email is bouncing. If anyone has a contact then prod him goodly.

I'll get the new picks in tomorrow hopefully. Pity about TDF I have been conflicted all the way through as I love Pog but also like Jumbo mostly for WVA but the TT today was otherworldly and finished it as a spectacle.
I see the golf deadline has gone. Does it end a few days before the event to give yourself some sanity?
With the new events, might just me being, I can't seem to copy and paste them when they are in a spoiler
Could you post a non spoilered version if it's not a pain in the hole?
Thanks muchly for your graft.
Non spoilered table below. Will also put it on the first tab of the google spreadsheet in the first post of the thread (done)
5 day deadline for events helps keep the 'picking in advance' part of the game, so you might be having to pick a horse without being sure if it's declared to run etc.
Also means I'm covered if I have the day of an event wrong (not unknown with my lack of understanding of timezones) or indeed an event kicks off early coz of weather or something.
.
TDF finishes next Sunday afternoon, still looks to be a coin-toss between JV and Pog.
The (British) Open also finishes next Sunday afternoon, though the amount of Rory picks have taken away from it's significance in this game.
And Thursday morning is the deadline for the next set of selections. Todays seems a perfect day to do it with nothing much on the box bar the silver medal play-off between Kerry & Derry.
See posts #111 and #112 for details.
Awesome time trial from JV today. Oddsckecker have it 1/10 JV 9/1 Pog. Pog has a mountain to climb literally tomorrow Queen Stage but it looks all over bar a fall.

Cricket final scheduled for this evening, though seems to be a good chance the weather will push it into tomorrow.
Either way it'll be tomorrow before I update. Essex beat SPs Hampshire in the first semi.
And 4 days to get your selections in for the remaining 22 events in post #111 and #112.
.
Gauff eliminated from Wimbledon early. Swiatek into the last 8 after surviving two match points today. Jabeur plays Last 16 tomorrow. Final on Saturday.
T20 Cricket ends next Saturday. Essex v Hampshire followed by Somerset v Surrey, followed by the final.
2 games left in the Ashes. Khawaja and Stokes lead the way. Brook and Smith aren't out of it. Warner been disappointing, and Ollie Pope is out injured.
2 weeks left in the TDF. Very close so far - 5/6 Pog, 11/10 JV.

No Norwegians can be selected and I'll ignore any goals they score. Seems open enough with Salah, Kane, Rashford, Jesus etc having claims.

OK, YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO DO THINGS NOW
No-one quibbled with any events so might as well go with the 22 mentioned last week.
Ireland women start their World Cup campaign on 20th July at 11am. So that's the absolute deadline.
But realistically the night before. Gives you 13 days for just 22 events. Doddle really.

Any questions or clarifications re events/selections give me a shout.
If life gets in the way and the deadline becomes an issue then let me know a day or two beforehand so I can work something out to be fair to everyone.
This competition is great for interest. Watched the game earlier (1st time) . Great ending to it. My team lost but now i'll be watching this . Super watch.
This is just a drill, you don't have to do anything yet.
I had to stretch a bit to get to 45 events. It's not a great year, no big footie tournament or Olympics.
As always, I'd welcome any suggestions for potential events/angles that I might have missed, tweaks to events, or even 'xxxx is shit, leave it out' comments.
Athletics 100M seems wide open this year and always good to include such a sporting blue riband event.
Medal table without USA looks fun and lots of countries have claims to a couple of medals in specific events. So might reward some research.
Soccer. 'No Norwegians' obviously just to prevent a Haaland pile-on. Not sure if it just leads to a pile-on on someone else but in my head it's open enough.
Womens World Cup top Irish scorer is very meh. But we don't score a lot and any goals seem to come from all over the pitch so might work.
Rugby World Cup Minnows would just be excluding the obvious ones (Big 5 from Europe, Big 4 from Upside Down land). So basically who does best out of Japan, Fiji, Italy, Georgia, Samoa etc. I think it'd get a decent spread of picks which is my object.
I'm really stretching with the Basketball NBA thing. Basically who wins the most games in the first ~30 games of the season.
Anyway, will decide on the definitive list by Thursday 6th July and await selections.
Ireland women play their first game at lunchtime on Thursday 20th so that would be the logical deadline. Gives you 2 weeks. But you can obviously start thinking about it now as most of those events will be on the final list.
Perhaps I'll add 78 new events just to nullify your good position. How's your Iranian U16 Squash championship knowledge?
Please, we all know Iran's underage squash development has fallen apart. Their once in a generation female players of Ailee Nayeri, Hadis Farzad, Fereshteh Eghtedari & Sogol Samoodi are all in their early to mid 20's at this point. They need more grass root investment...
AJ, you have done a stellar job running this competition, not just this year but for the last 6 years.
I think know I speak for everybody when I say, you should take a break. We're all 100% on board with you blowing it up now and not bothering with a further 20 plus events. Put the feet up, take it easy and enjoy the second half of the year...

Bit of a gap now after a flurry of events in early June. Next two up are the Wimbledon final and the T20 cricket, both due on the 15h July.
Cricket group stage is approaching the end, with the Top 4 in each group after 14 games into the quarter-finals.
Housekeeping
Baseball and EPL 31/12 football have appeared on the leaderboard. That's my yearly signal that I can no longer put off coming up with the remaining events, and setting people to work again.
I'll attempt to come up with 22/23 new events to get us to the mid-40s, preferably without going too ridiculously obscure.
Hopefully have something by next week, then pass it to the house to see if there's anything that I've missed. After that will give the usual 2 weeks for you to get selections in.
Would love to know what steroids Lao Lao is on. Thanks a million for sticking a conference league table up. It would have been way beyond my capabilities.
AJ will be along shortly with actual facts but my terrible memory tells me I wasn't always awful at this competition.
2018 - I think I was in with a half decent shout to win/come second with two or three events to go
2019 - I vaguely remember being a respectable mid table
2020 - Again, mid table-ish with little between me and three or four places above me
2021 & 2022 - I blame Covid, it took so much from us in so many ways - in my case, it took my ability to predict things
.
Us Open Golf finishes at silly o'clock tonight, I'll update after work tomorrow evening. 5-3-2-1-1 available and McIlroy and Scheffler right in the mix for points.
Less said the better about Justin Thomas, I'm sure it made sense to me at the time.
England, Australia and Netherlands all felled at various stages of the darts.
Wales (Lao Lao, AJ) v Belgium (no-one), and Scotland (limpwhacker) v Germany (no-one) in the semi-finals.
First game could be fun, not sure if Price, Huybrechts and Van der Bergh can share the same stage without a riot taking place.
Mea culpa. luckforsome changed his US Open pick before the original january deadline by pm from Rahm to Rory, and I actually updated it in the google spreadsheet linked in Post #1.
But I never updated it in my own local spreadsheet so it has stayed as Rahm there all along.

Cool. Just waiting on poker to confirm although he liked the post so that's a good sign. The runners and riders for the multisports conference league will be then be set.
