I could just be having a brain fart but quick query from live tourney recently:
In a hand and player, asks, 'how much are you playing?' - my stack is clearly visible, in neat stacks of 20. I say, 'approximately 120k' (which was correct). The guy then gives an inquisitive look to the dealer who then begins to count my chips and says, 'yeh, he has just over 120k'
I wasn't really bothered by this, nor by being asked, but I thought dealers were not in a position to count a player's stack (until it crosses the line!) and that as long as the the chips are visible etc it's the other players responsibility to judge stacks accurately?
I thought this is akin to asking what's in the pot but maybe I'm just confused?
Thanks
