Either make it less or shove preflop. You have 14bb. I'd definitely lean towards a smaller raise than a shove though, but definitely 3x is too big.

Go with a 30 buyin rule for SNGs and a 50 buyin rule for MTTs? 55/45 in my favour, 50/50 if you hit 4 figures. Play through to the end of the month?

Under 100= $5 and below SNGs
100 to 210 = up to $7SNG
300+ = $10SNG etc

Similar for MTTs but higher variance so go with 50 buyins and concentrate on SNGs if you're running bad.
