I'd say it'll often be more profitable to play completely unbalanced against most opponents you find at micro and small stakes, perhaps even up to the lower mid stake games.
I agree with this.
When you say CBet in the first hand do you mean donk bet when we are oop?
Im generally the pfr, 65% cbet has been working fine at 50NL, would be nice to get some extra ammo in against the regs tho. Ive been struggling a bit whenever I move up, running bad aswell in fairness. Also I've just checked my stats, seems my c/r is actually at 5% so may just have been a small sample size from the datamining villain.
Have generally been c/raising sets, overcard+draws as in BLs example, small to medium pairs on low flops, like c/raising light on the turn (ty beluga) and will nearly always c/raise from ep in multiway raised pots. Enough?
I would check raise as the PRF <1% and its mainly vs aggro fish
Whats your preflop stats? I remember playing vs you a few yrs ago on ipoker and you were ridic tight. But I think you were under rolled?
Just remember, raising a cbet and c/r should be treated differently. Generally I will have a higher raise cbet % as I have position and its so hard for the villain to continue. I will raise cbets with sets, draws, overpairs, gutshots, over cards, weak made hands etc..
I will c/r using the same kind of hands too, but not with the same frequency as they can call/float alot easier and it can be difficult to play the rest of the hand OOP.
I also recommend introducing donking to your game as regs really dont know how to deal with it. You have to me prepared to fire 2-3 barells.
Also, I wouldn't just blindly apply these 'theorems' to you game. If you learn how to hand read better and learn from experience you will be better able to identify these spots yourself and also realize the certain caveats associated with them.
Cheers for that, playing 21/17/3. As far as the theorems go, I had been doing a lot of it before anyway, certainly helped me get extra value out of houses and put words onto other things I had been doing.
Without a doubt they do help put into words what you have seen and generally make you more aware of it. I am just saying not to be too reliant on it and realize that there is no real blanket statement that can be applied to poker.
I think 65% cbet is leaving a ton of money on the table. Generally you'll find you acheive a 50% fold to cbet meaning even in a vacuum with no equity it's profitable. Checking stuff like good ace highs back is overated as it opens you up to getting bluffed. Without reads to the contrary I'd be cbetting 95% of the time in heads up pots.

I think at 50nl this is very good advice especially if you pick good spots to fire 2 and 3 barrels. I don't like checking back flops just because we've marginal showdown value. If it'd be a profitable c-bet with air it'd sure as hell be a profitable bet when we can actually sometimes get called by worse and folding out opponents decent equity share in the pot is never a bad thing. It also just makes us harder to play against.
"In the world, there are many kings but there is only one God. I am God, I am El Tren" :{)
Bet the flop for God's sake! As played raise the turn, the aim here is trying to get his stack but you're not building the pot at all. Meh folding looks ok on the river but getting there that way is the main problem in the hand.
Villian is 35/30 with a 3b of 18 over 50 hands. He has generally been very aggressive. Is calling down the right line or should i just raise the flop or turn?
Andy: What zuutroy said. You MUST bet that flop imo. You're cbetting 100% of the time with AJ and air hands, so do it when you flop a beautifully disguised monster. I suppose i'd fold the river as played, but i'd swear a lot at myself for letting that situation arise.
Shano: Looks fine, he has a lot of air in his range here so calling down looks nice.
Hero is a friend of mine, hes a pretty big winner on PTR and would probably have a Laggy image. Hes a 2knl reg and does play higher. Villan is Foxwoodfiend who I wouldn't have much reads on but is/was a coach for DC.
Flop: ($515) 8:spade: Q:diamond: A:heart: (4 Players)
smyrell05 checks, sanne-88 checks, HERO checks, 41 Lucky Boy bets $390, smyrell05 raises to $1,050, (1 folds), HERO raises to $1,365 and is all-in, 41 Lucky Boy raises to $1,840 and is all-in, smyrell05 calls $790
Just a general question. Game has gone 4 handed. UTG is a solid enough player and hasn't been getting his chips in with anything ridiculous so far. He has been raising with rundows aswel as premiums. Only top 2 paid.
Id this an insta fistpump ship?
Call and ship any part of the flop i connect with?
Fold?
I reckon UTG calls here >90% of time pf?
Does my hand lose much value because of the 3 suits, or would it gain much extra value if it was double suited?
Really good week for me after a terrible 2 and a half months so far this year. Heres one of the bigger hands too, not sure what he was up to tbh,he's a reg with no history with me.
fuck me anyone else think online poker is rigged??????????? lol put in 8k hands this week so far and im like 15 buyin downs! (Super Micro level but still) can not get a hand to hold up at all! My stats are like 21/16/45AFq
Anytime i try to slow play or check the turn to induce bets on the river i get screwed, im not gettin any action with my big hands no matter what way i play it! OMG just so pissed no online poker for next two weeks!

It could be just variance. Post up some of your biggest loosing hands.
Also, where can I get my hands on RedJoker's 3bet vid?
Knew I should've quit the cash and stuck to the SnG's, down 3 buyins in 220 hands. Set over Set, Overpair vs flopped house in 4bet pot, top two vs completed flush.
Gonna start playing pokers again after a long break, would anyone be generous and recommend somewhere good to play? It's really something I never kept track of. Probably just gonna be slumming it at ssnl for awhile until I learn how to play again.
I moved to FT recently from ipoker, only playing 25NL at the moment but it is so much softer than ipoker it's unreal.

What makes the day interesting is that we try to transform it into something that is close to art." - Arsene Wenger
Stars, FT are pretty tough. iPoker is tougher than the rest, but is a lot softer than tilt and stars. You also get v good rb, but have to put up with lots of nits, shorties and regs. If you want to go smaller sites you have to put up with less liquidity, and often the games can be just as tough. I play b2b mostly, and some of the regs are quite good, and it suffers from a lack of fish. Only a handful of shorties on the site though, and lots of very mediocre regs. I dunno about other sites.
I'd bet the turn, he's not folding a king (he has quite a few in his 3betcalling range IMO; KJ, KQ maybe even worse if it's suited) and he might continue with QJ, JJ, QQ and maybe worse PPs. If he called the turnbet I'd probably check/call the river because I don't think he calls 3 streets with anything except for a ten, 88, KQ or maybe KJ.
I like the check on the river after you've checked the turn, he can bet some flushdraws he's picked up on the turn which he might bluff the river with too, he might bluff with QJ too or bet for value with worse kings. I think shoving is a bit thin after he's bet the turn.
Must have had some read on river. He had A5dd the fcking nit. Is c/r better here as fd missed? I think he'll check behind any 1 pair hand though but call a bet. He was 40/10 after 20 or 30 hands.
Very nice red line , very nice.
Serious question are u working or playing fulltime, shouldnt u be moving up???
I'm working full time, no plans to change that unless I take down the Irish Open. I guess I am moving up!! Played some 5/10 and 10/20 the other night when there was a very good spot in the game, but in general I guess I have been pretty selective with games I have been playing when taking shots at higher levels such as 2/4hu and 6max. 100nl HU has been my bread and butter for the last few months and I am basically crushing that pretty well at the moment. For heads up it can be pretty much impossible to play anyone at 100nl to 400nl so I just load up a bunch of HU tables across the limits at 4 sites and play whoever sits in.
I have about another 1k to go before I get out of a $13.5k downswing so bankroll is only getting back together again as I only had about $2k in my roll about 6 weeks ago. If I had of busted in that downswing I doubt I would have played semi-seriously Like I have been for the last 2 years.
I am looking forward to posting that graph were I was basically at the peak in poker winning to losing $13.5k over about 80k hands or so. Hopefully I will be posting next month but seeing as I have said this I will no doubt have jinxed it and cue another 5 figure downswing.
after 10k hands of 6 Max my 4 biggest losing hands are
AA
JJ
AKo
44
@digiman Well done sir, keep it up! and Run good in the IO
Hehe good topic. I've done 25k hands of Rush and QQ is my biggest losing hand. I've pegged it back a little bit recently but it's still a crazy statistic. It goes to show how long you have to play for for your stats to average out.
"I can’t find anyone who agrees with what I write or think these days, so I guess I must be getting closer to the truth." - Hunter S. Thompson
I have no plans to ever play rush but I would assume from the structure that JJ and QQ will get mugged more often than not in 20+ BB pots. I read that shortstacking can be profitable in rush. Might be a good idea to drop limits and take out any frustration after getting mugged in a big pot at your regular limits in regular speed games.
Sure stick to the random junk you 3bet and call 3bets with and fold all the premiums. Winning tactic for you.
And digiman, wp sir. Jealous of that red line.
4 biggest winning hands for me
AQo
KTs
A7o
KK
in that order! problem with alot of my big ands is the only time im gettin action is when im going to lose them i havent won more than a 10BB pot with AA, A7o my new friend!
Thoughts on this hand? Its from 2+2, I am confused by/uninterested in the debate that has occured on its thread, want to see what people here think is the best line.
