I tried salvia a couple of times. Mad indescribable high for 1 min then 10-15 min with a cloudy head and your all set. One spin should be mandatory for everyone on the new BBV IMO.

Battery life on the itouch is the nuts.
Jumped on the bus back to Dublin from Letterkenny at 1.45 this morn, pulled out the itouch and was horrified to see it on the last legs and giving me the message "less than 10% battery left". Was sure i was going to have to listen to a load of Drunken Spanish clowns.
Walked into work at 6.30am and itouch still going strong despite almost 5 hours continued use.
On a side note, as i was walking in, some crazy bastard in shorts and a t-shirt jogged past me....nutjob

The earlier bus is 7.45pm and i dont like getting that, so it's my usual option. I need music to travel that distance. I forgot it once, and it was hell...it's the first thing on my checklist. From now on, i'll also check to make sure it's charged!!

What's the policy on holding the door for someone in the workplace? My buffer zone is about 5 feet and anything more results in giving the door a shove which sometimes results in the door hitting the hinge and closing quicker then expected. I think I'm coming across arogant as I never look behind when holding or shoving the door.Hunter S Thompson 1937-2005 - "When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro"

A male patient is lying in bed in the hospital, wearing an oxygen mask over his mouth and nose,
still heavily sedated from a difficult four hour surgical procedure .
A young student nurse appears to give him a partial sponge bath.
Nurse,' he mumbles, from behind the mask 'Are my testicles black?' Embarrassed, the young nurse replies
'I don't know, Sir. I'm only here to wash your upper body.'
He struggles to ask again, 'Nurse, are my testicles black?'
Concerned that he may elevate his vitals from worry about his testicles, she overcomes her
embarrassment and sheepishly pulls back the covers. She raises his gown, holds his penis in one hand and his
testicles in the other, lifting and moving them
around and around gently.. Then, she takes a close look and says, 'No sir, they aren't and I assure
you, there's nothing wrong with them, Sir !!' The man pulls off his oxygen mask, smiles at her and
says very slowly, 'Thank you very much. That was wonderful, but listen very, very closely.

Two dublin lads are about to open a new shop and they are working late putting up the shelves. One says to the other "I bet you some thick Culchie will walk by and ask us what we are selling". Sure enough, two mins later a Kerry lad sticks his head against the glass and says "What are ye selling".
"Arseholes" replies one of the dubs.
"Doing well", says the Kerryman, "only two left".

EDIT: interesting article from Slate on this here
Cameron must be so pleased to have beaten the previous record holder for highest grossing movie
The rights to show movies in a cinema is governed by a film rental contract - film distributors will receive a percentage of gross box office revenues, which percentage typically rises for higher levels of sales. The minimum percentage paid to distributors is 25% but this increases in line with box office performance. Movies that gross more than €10mm are subject to special terms agreements, where fixed percentages are agreed in advance for the first three to four week of a film's release before defaulting to the standard 25%.No Sig To See Here

Actually this could well be the best place for this question. I still intend to use my boards account, and indeed the poker forum a little, but I dont know the email adress from which I set my account up. Has that been sorted out yet? Is there anyway I can get my old account operational again?

Regarding the sliding scale of percentages. I will give an example from experience.
Movies@ Dundrum showed "The Queen" and also "The Last King of Scotland" for over 18 weeks each, in fact, Last King was on show for almost 5 months.
Within the first 2/3 weeks of the release, 55% of the ticket price was sent to the distributors, this included complimentary tickets, discounted tickets also.
from weeks 4-8 the percentage lowered to ~ 40%
Weeks 8-12 ~ 30%
etc
The last showing of Last King of Scotland in Movies@ was one of its most profitable, as the film was still selling out months later and also was one of the last films of the evening to be shown, so people would pick it if their film was sold out.
With Margins on retail, the most incredible figure I saw on this was on the Slush Puppees within the cinema. One 5l jug of "pre mix" makes 30l of slush, 125ml for a small, 200ml for a large. 150 large slushies from one jug = €300 sales price. The slush mix, cups, straws, work out at about €35 for those. The machines are provided free by the slushee manufacturers.
Cinema's are very interesting in the way that they're actually a "front" for another business. Similar to 11811, the thing that they advertise isn't what they're trying to sell, 11811 wants to charge you the "connect" fee, and cinema's want to charge you for their sweets!
EDIT: Blockbusters such as Avatar may have a different percentage scale, these scales are always negotiated independently with the distributors.Last edited by Emmet; 27-01-10, 14:30.

Cinemas sometimes don't get films in, as they are being asked to give up too much of a percentage. Sometimes films will come in purely because they have been offered them at such a low percentage.
I can only speak for the cinema I worked in though. That was how it was handled.

I've never liked Peterborough chairman Darragh McAnthony, he made his money selling off-the-plan apartments in Bulgaria and Hungary and Outer Mongolia to gullible fools. Was incredibly quick with a writ on some property forums as well at the height of the boom.
So I'm delighted to see him getting some flak from the Peterborough fans this year as his side languish at the bottom of the The Championship.
Interesting article where he has blamed all their problems on Darren Ferguson, players showing no passion, tapping up, internal disloyalty etc.
