Spent E499 on a HP G62. Has a 15.6" HD widescreen. 3gb. AMD Anthlon Dual-core processor.

Seems pretty good already so hopefully I have made a decent purchase. I went online and downloaded Avast security for free as advised by a friend.

I also had a look at monitors and they seem a lot cheaper that I had expected. I might pick one up next week.

Looking for some more consumer advice

I'm looking for a hard laptop sleeve to for a dell vostro 3310.
I've read online that pressure on the back of the screen can cause it to bend and as such i'm looking for a hard laptop sleeve to put the laptop in when it's in my bag.
Anything under a hundred euro will be considered.

Vancouver > Toronto imo. Although I'm not sure why anyone would choose to go to Canada at all. I would go for the Just for Laughs festival, but then I would be too tilted at being around French Canadians speaking French, I can also see going for the wilderness and scenery. But for cities? America > Canada.

Oh without a doubt Vancouver is a great city.
Pacific Ocean, Stanley Park, The Rockies an hour away for hiking skiiing etc. Great night life and a very relaxed policy about certain plants
I lived there for about 8 months working for EA games and it was fucking amazing, kinda place you dream about living.
However, this sounds a little odd, but it is NOTHING like the rest of Canada, it is a huge melting pot of a city, 2nd largest China Town (outside china ), loads of Koreans Vietnamese, Asians of every flavour. It also has quite a large Irish population.
Which annoyed me. I dunno about you but when I'm in a different country I dont want to be constantly reminded of home, no matter how half arsed (the local Orange lodge lead the Paddys day parade )
I quite enjoy the parocialism of other parts of Canada, freezing me nuts off talking about Hockey and eating poutine.
I dont get the Canada>america thing really. Having spent a good deal of time travelling around both...Canada storms it

Could anyone possibly offer an explanation why it takes 6+ weeks to renew your driving licence..............before you could go directly to the motor tax office & it would be processed while you wait & took about 5 minutes. Granted there was no photograph involved but you send those with the application.

IMO 5 working days would sound more than reasonable. We appear to be going backwards despite modern technology. It's something like 14 days to get a copy of a bank statement which before was immediately available......................

I handed mine in on a Thursday afternoon and it was in my mailbox the following Monday morning, and that was in central Dublin.

I also know someone who got the license instantly in the dungarvan office.

Yeah i got mine straight away also, but dave is talkin about a waterford office and we all know they cant find there way to there desk let alone process something so 6 weeks isnt too bad obv send it to wexford person 5.5 weeks after you drop it in so its done within there time frame!

Dave tell them you have to present it in the garda barracks the next day they will do it straight away!
