The Champions League final for the first time ever beat the Superbowl in worldwide ratings this year by the way, I found that interesting. I think with saturday finals now it'll become something very like a Superbowl occasion itself.

Hmmmn. I'm pretty shocked it doesn't beat it every year. I think last season final would have gotten extra ratings just because it was the best looking final in years.

What software do I need to burn a movie from my hard drive onto a DVD?It needs to work in my DVD player.

What type of DVD is best for the task?A rewriteable one would be best.There's loads of the things in the supermarket and I can't tell one from the other.

If your DVD player is DivX compatible, you can just burn the .avi files onto a DVD and they should play away. If you have a standard DVD player, then you need a program such as AVI2DVD which is a step-by-step wizard based piece of software that's incredibly easy to use and free!

Hmmmn. I'm pretty shocked it doesn't beat it every year. I think last season final would have gotten extra ratings just because it was the best looking final in years.

Superbowl just has such a sense of occasion that people with no interest in the NFL watch it, I don't think the Champions League has that though like I said I really think Saturday finals will go some way to making that happen, I'd love to see the CL final viewed the same way.

The stature of the final definitely helped last year, yeah, be interesting to see what kind of final this year is and how they compare worldwide ratings wise this time around.

Most Phillips DVD players support Divx and also have a USB port so you can just copy your .avi file onto the stick, pop it into the USB port on the DVD player & play the thing right off the stick. No burning DVD discs to worry about

Until you mentioned Limerick in that sentence I had no idea what sport you were talking about.

The DVD player I have is pretty crap,I think I will price up one that you mentioned though.

Basically,I'm trying to find the handiest way to watch films I've downloaded on the big screen.

I don't have a HDMI port on the lappy so the other leads are too messy.

I know many of you use media players but I'm not interested in having a library of movies,I just want to watch a movie once and delete.

Maybe a DVD player with Divx is the way to go then?

P.S that would be compatible with cousins stuff,right?

Currently leading La Liga in goals AND assists, some record. Him, Iniesta and Xavi may well be the best three players in the world atm, only Ronaldo could really say he belongs on that list.

I asume your talking about playmakers.midfielders just. Id say Torres would sell for more money than anyone atm. Nobody can touch him for pure finishing.

Torres isn't even the best striker Spain have, for all his brilliance, in my opinion of course, though it's one shared by most of Spain apparently. He is absolutely fantastic don't get me wrong, but I'd take Villa over him, and the players I mentioned before.

Was in the gym for induction today and the training program the guy set me up on didn't even produce a drop of sweat from me. Does that mean it isn't sufficiently demanding? Wasn't sure whether to mention it to the trainer or not, what with being new to gyms...

Id say its just an introduction, do it a few times but do tell him you find it easy!
They start you off easy and expect you to say you want more/find it easy

Much as I love Torres, if a transfer value was assigned to Messi it would be 150m+. If Man City did not have the money they had, there would never have been any talk of a bid greater than 50m for Torres I'd say.

I've been using usb sticks via dvd player for the last 2 years or so. Just recently got a TV with a vga input and find it really handy. It's unfortunate you need a separate cable for the sound, but not a big issue.

So you plug the stick into the DVD player and you need a separate cable for sound.

Er no. I meant you can connect your laptop to your tv via a vga cable and play directly using whatever player you have on your laptop, but you would also need a 3.5mm cable for sound.

If you go for a dvd player with usb input you won't need any other cable. Lidl and Aldi regurlarly have such dvd players for about €50 btw.
