First, Litmanen was signed and sold by Houllier. Crouch was a signing that raised eyebrows at the time, was derided when he went on a long scoreless streak but Rafa stood by him and kept him in the team. When Torres was signed Crouch was not happy to be a backup player and rejected a new contract offer, and then sold for a profit.
Fair enough on Litmanen! However, I don't buy it that Crouch would could not accept being a back up player, he would have been regularly involved. Why can't Rafa manage a successful rotation policy, convince players it works and keep them happy? All top managers absolutely have to be able to do this. Crouch would never have been promised a start at Spurs so why should he expect it at Liverpool and request a move? I'm not buying that.
Bellamy had been a trouble player at nearly every club he went to, yet was sold for a profit. There was also that golf club incident with Riise.
I agree, Bellamy has been a trouble player but Benitez knew that when he signed him.
Keane never got a chance? He started practically every game, did nothing for most of them, and was taken off when contributing nothing with a big sulk on his head. He went back to Spurs where Harry has barely played him this season. Are you saying that the fabled Arry Redknapp is a bad man manager now for not giving him a chance?
I'm not saying anything about Harry or that Keane hasn't been given a chance at Spurs. There's no doubt he's proven himself at Spurs. If he's not doing the business now, it's a different story. I think it's clear he was not given a good run in the Liverpool team in the four months he was there or allowed time to settle before he was moved on.
Villa and Spurs have almost certainly spent more money over the last few years than Liverpool yet have never come close to matching Liverpools league finishing positions. Even this season, in the midst of Liverpools worst season for years, they are barely in a better league position yet there is no public outcry for O'Neills or Redknapps head.
Someone earlier has posted about cash spent since Bentiez arrived and it's clear he has spent significant cash. If you want to compare Liverpool to Spurs and Villa, go for it. Let's lower the Liverpool expectations to those similar to Villa and Spurs. Is that not failure in itself?
In regard to Keane, Morientes, Bellamy and Crouch, Keane and Crouch are not good enough for top four clubs imo but Benitez signed them anyway so he obviously believed they were. If Bellamy or Morientes played for Arsenal, United or Chelsea, I expect they would have been far more successful than at Liverpool because they are class players who have scored goals everywhere, Morientes at CL level.
Obviously I am not happy with Liverpools league position, but to attack one individual for something while leaving others unscathed for the same thing is pure hypocrisy. He is a victim of his own, and the clubs previous, successes, as well as a victim of the media at larges dislike of him.
I understand that he is working in terrible circumstances with the yanks. I also believe that their failure this season is for the most part down to him, his man-management and transfer dealings. He is responsible for the team's position in the league. Every manager is. The Alonso and injuries excuse doesn't stand up when you compare it to United who lost Tevez and Ronaldo and have had serious injuries to key defenders all year. Arsenal have also seriously suffered.

Whatever about Rafa's merits as a manager or Keanes merits as a player the way he treated him was pathetic and showed him up to be a very petty man. He never gave him a run in the team or a chance to settle and immediately sold him off just because he wasn't 'his' man even though Liverpool are woefully lacking in good striking partners/back up for Torres who's a tad injury prone to boot. Putting petty agendas ahead of the good of the team is -EV for Liverpool.

yeah the 22 is super close imo, but shud lean to a fold cos chips are so powerfull in this as a bullying weapon

I hate it whe nmy library is dis-organised. Normally its pretty easy to sort out but i'm stuck with a few albums.
Say, for example, an album has a few guest artists on it, I don't want the library to split the album into "artist", "Artist+guest 1", "Artist+guest 2" etc
I was able to remove the album as various artists by using the "Album Artist" field, but I still can't merge the whole album under the one artist without delete in the guest artists names

I agree with that for every other show I have watched up till LOST. This is my first season having to watch it week to week apart from towards the end of last season. I am pretty glad I am gonna get to experience the final season like this as I think a huge part of LOST is the suspense created from week to week. The discussion plus reflection of the head-fucks, theories and unanswered questions are half the fun of the show.

Nice time to be facing a redundancy situation alright.
I wont know what options I have in terms of applying for internal positions till next week, the Job Descriptions etc wont be available till then. But its quite likely the only ones will be a signifcant step backwards in terms of salary (as much as 50% cut), and career regression - anything from 5-7 years.
What are the thoughts of you guys, with the current job situation and Waterford being particulary bleak, am I best to take the step back if it comes to that or take the paltry redundancy offer?
Had been worrying about my eyes, keep getting headaches, so just back from my first ever eye test. Happy enough with better than 100% perfect eyesight and healthy eyes, just have to figure out how to stop the headaches now.
