I honestly think he'd be better suited at Bolton or Blackburn than Liverpool. He's consistently shown an inability to get the best out of his quality players. Gerrard ended up playing that role behind the striker as a result of him running out of strikers not as a result of Benitez identifying it as his best position. His best before then was from the left of midfield. I disagree with most of what you say. Benitez has achieved alot with Liverpool. Just because they challenged for a change last year and dropped back to fighting for CL football while having a huge crisis at the club doesn't make him a bad manager. He is doing nothing wrong.

Alonso is a huge loss and they had some injuries at bad times this season. Last year Liverpool had the luck go their way alot, they were never going to compete for the title this year.

follow this thread,if that doesnt work post in that forum explaining that malware bytes cant complete the scan,u may have to change/delete items in the registry which is a mighty pain in the arse.

In general their would be uproar, personally I'd be happy enough and willing to give him time. At Liverpool he has a average squad with maybe 5 top players. At Chelsea he would have a class squad that would really suit his system. If Ancelotti was sacked there is a lack of top managers out there and a man who knows the Chelsea team well and the Premiership inside out would be ideal, Benitez fits this description perfectly. He could put out a team like this....

Mikel - Essien
Anelka - Lampard - Malouda
Drogba

Alex, Bosingwa, Zhirkov, Cole, Belletti, Sturridge, Kalou, Deco, Ferreira, Matic and Kakuta all slip in to that. With that kind of squad he would succeed. If was given money he would have to buy top talent and not decent players like he has in some cases at Liverpool as Abramovich would force him too. Some of his decisions and tactics are questionable but there is no doubting he is a top manager.

If he leaves Liverpool this season and Chelsea go without a Champions League title over the next few seasons he will be a front runner to replace whoever is sacked for not winning everything. Unless we could get Mourinho back or someone like Guardiola in then I would not mind having Benitez at all.

People questioning him this year really should read more into it and look at what he has had to deal with at Liverpool this season. The owners are muppets, he lost a very good player and a class player in the summer and Gerrard and Torres have been plagued with injuries this year. He is up there with the best and if he got the Chelsea I'd be happy.

Any full account would look at evolutionary psychology, attachment, I suppose Alfred Adler would be bound to have some interesting things to say on competitiveness if you look for it, and social psychology.

Thanks very much for pointing me in the right direction. Most of what I've found thusfar relates to peoples reactions and behaviour when in competitive circumstances so I think I'll have to delve a bit deeper into my Athens account to find physiological material. Google has revealed a few good discussions by people wondering the same thing though.

Part of why I'm studying it is out of pure curiosity. I think it's enthralling to observe competitiveness in group situations and watching as either rivalries develop or hatred and jealousy. There's also a level of pure focus and concentration that's associated with competition, a single train of thought which is difficult to derail. Learning how competitiveness is structured will possibly help me explore how to derail and reach such competitors (from a marketing perspective).

If not, then it will surely be interesting.

Apparently the Boardman bikes are the best you can get, but couldn't really justify that expense.

It's been a while but the best bikes were always the Dawes Galaxy and Super Galxy, these are for touring so would be ideal for long excusrions, make sure you have secures locks as they as expensive. Every cyclist should have a Galaxy in my view. Toured Ireland on a Dawes, best holiday ever.

Robert Lucas definitely deserves the award for his article in The Economist last year arguing that the financial collapse was a perfect example of efficient markets and how it was proof that governments need to stay out of financial markets.

90% of that list is retarded. There are like 4 people in there that might be considered for it, but the rest have done excellent theoretical work. Theoretical work can obv have holes in practice, but all the rest have definitely contributed positively to knowledge.

There is nothing wrong with theorising a couple of steps removed from reality. That contributes to understanding hugely. Basic poker strategy mainly comes from theorising with a couple of assumptions that are known to be incorrect, but the conclusions are relevant in understanding interactions of other variables. The problem is with people neglecting to think about some perhaps unrealistic assumptions and attempt to apply any theory or thoughts directly to the area to which they apply. People should be sensible enough not to blindly follow some economic hypothesising, and if they do then blaming the economist is retarded.
