He misses his fair share of easy chances, but the fact he gets in those positions and gives it 110% every game is what makes him stand out.

As a Spurs fan I can confirm that the above is not the case. I couldn't count the number of times he's played for us and barely touched the ball. Many's the time if it wasn't for his pointing and moaning you wouldn't know he was on the pitch.

Also Keane is, as best as I can tell, blind. He is always squinting and rarely seems to see the ball until it is in front of his nose.

I think he applied himself very well in his career overall and has done pretty damn well for a striker with no pace, minimal dribbling ability, no heading ability, and will miss easy chances. His positioning, effort (in the games when he shows up), and ability to link up well with others are what has made him a good player.

Apparently he is also very good for the dressing room, except when he wanted his Liverpool move and then acted the complete cnut I believe.

His current goal scoring is not nearly as good as his past form so saying that you think he is past it doesnt seem so crazy to me. He might get his touch back if he gets regular games at West Ham but he doesn't have it right now. He does whinge an unreal amount. I was a massive fan of Robbies for years so dont take this up wrong but like all sports keeping an over the hill player in the squad can ruin a younger players chances to adjust and develop.

How can you say Keane is not international class anymore, he's scored 11 goals in his last 20 internationals. Yes, he misses tons of chance but so do all strikers that play in a similiar type of role. He's still only 30 and is far and away the best we have and he'll continue to score loads more goals at international level.

When on form, their touch and movement that made them the world class strikers they are is almost second nature but when they're struggling they tend to overthink things and that split second of doubt can make a huge difference.

Like Berbatov is a great example, he might go several games without scoring throughout the season but when he scores you can visibily see the transformation of confidence in his expressions, his sharpness and which explains why he tends to have gotten a lot of braces or even hat tricks in his career.

I tried that, and i told your one on chat that i've tried that about 10 times but it shows up as tournament chips as the balance and not the buyins? When i change it to last 10 admin games, it just seems to select a handful of games. I played a few sats, some razz/omaha hi-lo and a couple of rebuys. Also used a €55 ticket to play a sat for the €320 game on saturday (which i managed to bink ) and i want to make sure that the €55 didn't come out of my account, or that i didn't rebuy/top up in error

Nah went into tournament results and configured it for MTTs and Real etc and it comes up just as tournie chips. If i change from MTT to admin games, it shows what i won but not buyin or balance. It seems like a retarded system and your one on Laddies seemed a bit clueless (chat spoiler below)

Not only that, but people completely miss the point about a "lack of effort". Running around like an idiot, throwing tackles in and getting involved ala Alan Smith may look good and please the fans, but is it +EV for the team? Check Smiths goal record when he was played up front.

Often it's far more important to be constantly running off the shoulder, staying out of the game for long periods and maintaining clever positions. If the mid fielders have a day where they don't see the runs or can't pick you out it'll look like you're lazy and doing nothing when the complete opposite is the case. I mean how many strikers labled "lazy" seem to not only score a load of games but also seem to get far more chances than others? Do people honestly think this is a coincidence?

You can't take a striker who misses a few chances and say "Well put in player x and he'd have scored those" when chances are player x wouldn't have gotten a single one of the chances to begin with because they didn't have the technique movement strength and cleverness to get on the end of the passes or simply be in the right place at the right time. Look at Gerd Muller, he was often considered lazy and disappeared from games, compare his goal scoring record to Emile Heskey. There's millions of examples, Inzaghi being another. He never seems to be involved yet he's always getting on the end of tap ins that "anyone could have scored", weird that isn't it? People have called him lazy, which is a lolstupid thing to say, he's not lazy (He is, in fact, insanely passionate) he's just clever.

BK said it all when he said, trolling or no, that we didn't have Keane to "miss his five chances a game". More pertinently, we didn't and don't have a player capable of getting five chances in a game, until we do Keane is far and away our easiest pick on the team sheet.
