Best thing to do imo is to post hands in the strat section(for the love of god don't start going off at someone in there since no matter what they say you can learn from it, and people will tend to be overly blunt so don't take offence). Other than that you could start reading through the tournament strategy section and pick things up there. There have been some very good threads.

Harrington on Holdem 2 is a bit dated but focuses on end game and is still a good bookmark for building a better end game, hailed as one of the best poker books. It's the only book I have read on poker so obv I can't offer advice on any others.

Check one of Midnitekowby's posts from earlier tonight where he says about the locals in the casino here playing backwards tourney strategy..you should be playing tight and extracting value early and widening your late position opening ranges as you near the bubble.

Put it this way: You know the way you fell approaching the bubble? Well at the very least 2/3 others at the table feel the same way so you should adapt and pick on them as they're less likely to put up a fight as they try to crawl through the bubble

true, best to pick on those u can damage the most, leave shorties and big stax till uve the goods, learn ur push/fold cause most live ft here thats all it is...they'll usually call raises with much better hands then they call shoves , which again is backwards playing

Have a friend who drinks a fair bit (all weekend and one or two evenings a week) and he drinks Heineken with a dash of white. Can't understand it at all. I can see how you would drink a shandy if you thirsty or driving but every time? Wuss.

Reminds me of the time I went to Boyles in Tallaght (junkie city). Went to put a bet on and there was about 4/5 junkies behind me, putting their €1 on the virtual. If a male poster had the same reaction to my comment and subsequently to Zod's as MSN did he would be roundly slagged for it and, in the parlance of the medium, told to GTFO.

CHD is a brilliant example of someone adjusting to the general style of the forum. Initially I couldn't stand to read anything he wrote but I'm actually quite fond of his posting style now. It certainly is not my attitude that has changed.

The QED joke was one I would have used on anyone who posted as she did given the context. It had nothing to do with her gender (nor do I believe anyone has said so) however SHE made it about gender in how she justified her reaction to it. I honestly see no difference between how posters have treated her with comparable outbursts by Bubbleking, SICKPUPPY or (in his youthful days) CHD.

Frankly the only people I see treating Michelle any differently because of her gender are the other women on this forum.

This is not an attack on you, for whom I have the very greatest of respect and affection as you know, or on Michelle. I have made my peace with her over the comment and explained there was nothing meant by it. I'm just annoyed that this has taken on a men -v- women aspect when, really, there is nothing to justify such a narrative.

I don't understand why anyone shops in Nolans. Super Valu in Killester is a way better (albeit a bit smaller) supermarket. Cheaper, quicker, friendlier staff.

It's definitely very worn, outfield looks patchy in part. But the crease should make for some interesting cricket later on in the game. Decent start by NZ.

Sand bar is very nice alright. Also been hearing some very good things about the breakfast in that new restaurant on Vernon Avenue, Moloughneys, although I haven't experienced it myself.

Also needless to say Kinara is just yum yum yum! If you haven't been it is highly recommended, never heard of anyone not absolutely loving the place.
