FIRSTLY NO JUDGES DECISION THIS WEEK. IT'S A STRAIGHT VOTE.
Mary positives.
- Mary has a rock solid fanbase, ie - Irish vote.
- Getting massive publicity over here last week or so, being mentioned on every news program.
- Bad weather gonna ensure a big viewing figure Saturday/Sunday, so plenty of Irish votes.
- Bounce factor from being in bottom two.
- Mary qualifying gives all mentors one act in final.
- Mary more suited to final, as bring in massive Irish figures, great story (checkout lady to superstar) as well as older, granny, larger lady vote. A huge amount of which sit at home, eating icecream, watching Mary fulfil their dreams. Cher's fan's more likely to be spread.
- Star gonna publish voting numbers on front on paper this weekend.
Mary has already beaten Cher before in week when Cher was bottom two. We know Cher can beat Mary (last week), so if it's gonna be tight, how can we not go with Mary when she seems to have so many more positives over Cher.
Prices look wrong to me, I've been betting accordingly last day or so.

SPOILERYeah I saw that hand just after i posted the above. Strange what having so much money in front of you can do. Its easy I guess sitting here saying shit he had kk and its ONLY 30k and he still has 100k left
SPOILERHellmuths call to double him up to $240k was horrific. After the speech, there was less than .1% chance he was bluffing

Extremely tilting watching that episode. LC has played pretty bad imo, but still better than David Williams
SPOILERHellmuths call to double him up to $240k was horrific. After the speech, there was less than .1% chance he was bluffing
SPOILERThe constant talk and overacting was quite funny to watch and Hellmuth saying afterwards he should have picked up on his talking was just lol. He didnt go really nuts though, think it needed tony g there to wind him up. Was also funny to hear Williams talking about wanting to be known for cash games, him and Hellmuth should definitely stick to the tournies imo
Still though, its nice to see a guy on a freeroll be up like 130k, as he said its 3 years wages for him

Being in the library this late is ridiculous
This is inreresting, a genuine article about England's chances of hosting a WC again.
I would put it on par with Ireland winning another Eurovision, its seems to be all about the voting!
SPOILERMartin Peters is the youngest surviving member of the England team that won the World Cup on English soil in 1966. As he and his fellow World Cup legends grow old together, and their successors stumble from one tournament failure to another, fans have got wearily used to the idea that they may never witness an England team repeat the feat.
Now, after this week’s humiliation in Zurich for the England bid to stage the 2018 tournament, an awful reality will hit football fans – that they may never witness a world cup held in England.
“As someone completely in favour of and supportive of international football, something died yesterday,” said Dave Boyle, chief executive of fans’ group Supporters Direct.
Failure to win 2018 sees England’s world cup hosting prospects shrink to the size of a dot on the horizon. After the triumph of Russia and Qatar, the earliest England can next stage football’s premier event is 2026, when Mr Peters will be 82 years old.
But it is worse than that. Several more nations than those competing in Zurich will lay claim to hosting tournaments. It will be the best part of a decade before Fifa revisits its bidding process, by when nascent football powers such as China and India may be ready to tilt at the prize.
Even without strong competition, England’s reaction to the calamity in Zurich shows how remote is the prospect of success. The nation’s football authorities are spitting blood, unable to comprehend how their strong technical and economic case, an impressive final-day presentation and a dazzling line-up of government, royalty and Brand Beckham could pull in only one vote out of the 22 Fifa members, aside from England’s own representative.
The voting system is at fault, said Andy Anson, bid chief executive, when a decision of such import resides in a few hands. Talk of voting collusion was rife weeks before Fifa members arrived in Zurich. Allegations of corruption, which led Fifa to suspend two members, have sowed mistrust among some of the losers – not just England, suggested Mr Anson, but Australia and the US – and suspicion about the fairness of the process.
Should England bid again? “I would say right now, don’t bother, until you know that the process is going to change to allow bids like ours a chance to win,” he told journalists in Zurich on Friday.
Fifa members will doubtless shake their heads, pointing to England’s distant involvement in the running of Fifa committees, and how few England officials engage with the international “football family”.
There are those involved in the England bid who accept that persuading Fifa to entrust the treasured prize in their hands means becoming more indoctrinated in the ways of Fifa. However, most will conclude that such a culture is un-English, and is not for them.
Inevitably, that view will play into the hands of those who want England’s football authorities to worry less about the England team and staging international tournaments, and more about the domestic game. A joint letter to newspapers from the Football Association and the Premier League suggested it was time to get back to what English football is good at doing.
“Today football in England resumes,” the FA and the Premier League wrote. “England continues to be the best place in the world to play, watch and talk about football. Whatever the weather, over 7m people will be playing and hundreds of thousands more will travel to some of the finest stadia in the world to watch the most deeply-rooted professional football in the world.”
This weekend, someone at Fifa headquarters in Zurich will be thinking about the logistics of playing the World Cup in a country during a time when temperatures will be edging up to 50°C. Meanwhile, English club fans will shiver on the terraces in freezing conditions. Maybe English football has decided the climate of international football is too hot for its liking.
