Griffith College and UCD both used to do good IT conversion courses but I can't find either course now, they could have dried up. Depending on exactly where you are coming from if you find the right course and much more importantly have the aptitude for it then with the Electronics background you would be very employable. I'll keep rooting around and if I find something I'll point you towards it.
As I said to Theresa the other night , Software development is something that if you wanted to do it you would probably be doing it already. To get a feel for it I'd highly recommend working your way through K&R as a starting point and see how you feel about it then. Edit - Actually it wasn't earlier but is now. Must have been in the latest update. The Megavideo links are working fine. Click on the mrbrownee70.com link then click on Alternate Method in red and it will bring you to megavideo page which has the option "View on Megavideo" to stream.

Fire up tor and mgeni, set mgeni to UK (1st time you use these you will have to do something with a password which is clearly prompted and explained) and away you go imo.

Not sure how good it is. I've only used it a couple of times.
I've uninstalled it and re-installed but it keeps happening.
Could be my laptop (it's old), but I'm not gonna use that software again.I hold silver in tit for tat, and I love you for that

Was it a full movie you were converting? I know I had problems converting a really long one (>2.5 hours), though it worked fine for 2 shorter files.Last edited by ComradeCollie; 28-10-10, 21:55.Gone full 'Glinner' since June 2022.

A little while ago there was mention in this thread of a device that wirelessly acted as a network server sort of thing that auto downloaded files from synced devices and uploaded them to other devices on the network.

Are they worth doing if you already have a degree?Originally posted by daire View PostDepends, I know lads that did them straight out of school as a stepping stone into courses they didn't get the points for and stuff and it worked out well for some of them. What are you looking to do specifically? I might have heard something good/bad/indifferent about it. PM if you want.
If you're looking for something to improve business skills/IT/whatever as a complement to what you already have there's probably something more suitable than a FETAC, they're usually used to get into other courses or trades.Originally posted by UraiseIfold View PostOriginally posted by hotspur View PostThey are a national educational awarding body. They award lower level stuff which is below degree level whereas HETAC awards stuff above that outside of the university sector. Here is the national framework of qualifications: http://www.nfq.ie/nfq/en/FanDiagram/nqai_nfq_08.html
The question is what is the course you are thinking about? FETAC don't run education, they just accredit. Some courses would give you a necessary qualification for the profession such as FETAC level 5 certificate in child care. Others look like a load of bollocks.

This kind of thing is exactly why I love this site - I can post a fairly specific question and have a ton of answers in less than an hour.
Seriously, IPB is the fucking nuts.

LOL Banks!!
Came in this morning and the boss turns to me and tells that there is $1,000,000 missing from the company account. Phoned up the bank, and they tell us they are in the process of fixing it.
Turns out they mistakenly withdrew $1mil from our account and noticed the mistake and were trying to clear the transaction to get it back in before we noticed. Surely the sensible thing would be to give the company a heads up so nobodys panics or freaks out if they check the accounts.

5th in the 22$ six max on stars for 555$, final table went kind of shitty,
lost a 600k pot with A9dd vs JJ on a J3TKddd board money went in and river paired up
and another 600k pot with AK into KK, i was playing so aggro i can't ever fold AK,
ah well profit for the night and played for the win overall happy enough,
SPOILERin fairness lucky to make the final table managed to chop with AJ vs AQcc on TT6cc flop lolz
as well as getting 55 to 99 and AJ to beat AK

Bad time to be looking now most of these courses would have started last month.
If you ever move to Dublin I recommend the following one
I did it myself two years ago. I'll prob never use it as I enjoy finance more but it's definitely a good course. There's full and part-time options. When I did it there were reduced fees as it was covered by the EU but not sure if that's still the case.
I'd defo go for a grad dip if I were you though. It's a level 9 qualification (same as a masters degree).

Don't forget the clocks go back this weekend.. One of my earliest memories is thinking people had to return the clocks to the shops to be fixed for some reason.
Why doesn't our clock go back? I'd say to the mother. It did go back she'd say. However I was monitoring it very closely and it went nowhere. I wondered why I was being lied to, so this led me to also doubt her other assertions, like vegetables were good for you and such. oh yeah, clocks go back folks.
