Haven't punted on it this year like I used to, put two small bets on it today (Scott & Mickelson), enjoying it more though. Used to be about 25 bets deep at this stage with the head bet into betfair instead of really enjoying it and rooting for lads for the sake of it.I hold silver in tit for tat, and I love you for that

McDowell was commentating a few weeks ago. His accent is awful but was really insightful and streets ahead of the rest. Similar to Harrington who has great insight. As a lover of golf it is interesting to find out things that I would not know myself from watching the masters for 20+ years. His rival it seems, had broken his dreams,By stealing the girl of his fancy. Her name was Magill, and she called herself Lil,But everyone knew her as Nancy.

This is Kjell Ove. Who came second at the final table tonight in the Norwegian Championships. I drew this and gave it to one of this family members I think..who said he rather liked it I snapped this just before I gave it away.

There's actually a disproportionate amount of Irish in commentary positions across all sports.
Any Irish person in commentary position is a disproportionate amount!

Hi Mellor.
Well Really I just want to be nice. And post something positive. I don't claim to have all the answers.
I have of late ...been thinking ..how I see the world ...through the matrix or after taking a red pill or a blue.
I see the world through feeling.
So that was my feeling. And I said it.
I have met Trans men and women who were smarter than me ...nicer than me etc ...but they were also nice to me. And even if they weren't .....i still feel ..or am able to feel a little of what it might be like ..to walk that path.
So respect.
And I respect you too Mellor...because whatever we feel ....we are all equal in feeling. We all have feelings.
I support human dignity. And I know you do too just as much as me. And I never want to hurt anyone even if they disagree with me ...as they would feel that hurt equally to me.

The wife did it to get started on python as is now working in the area, so that seems a decent enough recommendation
Idea is to do a machine learning specialism, but you need some python knowledge first.
If I don't get that I'll probably be on the Python train to try and get one of them data jobs. Loads of our PhD grads have been snapping them up. Problem is I've typically got to about page 7 of the programming book then given up because it bores the life out of me.

I assure you ..I am no more saintly than anyone else here. I just express it differently. Or I forget it after I have.
Not being able to find something I am looking for. I swear the fairies moved it ! Not me I didn't lose it!
Being ignored or ostracized I suppose.
Not being able to find what I am looking for though ..yup.Last edited by Guest; 09-04-17, 09:47.

For the record I don't know enough about the about situation to support or oppose the above.
I feel this current rush to take a stance of unequivocal acceptance is not wrong, but flawed. I chose a hypothetical boxing/wrestling as I think it morally very different to running. I presume that we'd all agree that it's never ok for a man to hit a women - isolated statement btw, not calling anyone a man.
I wouldn't claim to know all the angles of the identity issue. But I've read a little bit. Cis, Trans, X, N/A. People are free to identify as whatever they feel like imo. The women in the previous article was transgender. That's her decision. People often confuse transgender with transsexual. But they aren't the sane. Gender is not about sexuality. Gender is about identity.
I read a quote recently that sums it up well;
Sexuality is of the body. Gender is of the mind
The segregation of men and women in most sports is not about gender. Its about sexuality, specifically physical sexual differences.
A transgender women, and a transsexual women and a ciswomen are not identical.

Born a man, participate in male sports.
Born a woman, participate in female sports.
The only question is when there is a person born with both reproductive organs, then it's down to the person to choose their identity. That's so rare that it wouldn't even be an issue.
Don't like it, GTFO.

It's great that you feel that way. But you can't only look at the positive aspects in any situation. There's action and reaction.
There's often limited spaces on the girls team. What if allowing a transgender athlete means another girls gets bumped off the team. Doesn't get her scholarship, and doesn't go to college.
I guess she should have just been better, right.
That's not to mention her opponents than could end up severely hurt.
After how long identifying as a women is a transgender person allowed on the girls team? If some Russian boxer decided he now identified as a women. Is it ok for him to fight Katie Taylor next week?
Why/Why not? She's a women now. Just a strong one, probably didn't mean to break Katie's eye socket.
I'm all for identify, however ever anyone sees it. But i don't turn a blind eye to situations where someone can get hurt.

What if somebody was born a female but has been on male hormone treatment for the last 6 years. Still ok to compete with the women? Of course not.
