Ryanair have 40 Million in the bank so the scheme can't apply to them until that is all used up?
A small business with say 100K in cash reserves and half a dozen employees and are closed down; will they have to use up all their reserves before they can apply the scheme
Sounds to me like its going to to exactly what its intended to prevent lead to anyone who isn't going to cost more in redundancy payments being laid off and to all sorts of exploits like breaking service etc.

Since we're quizzing, I'll do a round. Years back there was briefly talk of doing an IPB night out with a table quiz, and I did up some questions that didn't really see the light of day. Not the most difficulty, but I liked this round. Most people know the longest, or highest or biggest, a lot even know the 2nd in each of these things, but the 3rd?
All answers correct as of 2013 when I initially did these questions up, but I don't imagine any of the answers have changed.
SPOILER
1 What is the 3rd largest planet in the solar system?
2 What is the 3rd largest great lake?
3 Which team has the 3rd highest number of English football league title wins?
4 What is the 3rd largest county in Ireland?
5 Who has won the 3rd highest number of golf majors?
6 What is the 3rd longest river in the world?

8 Who is the 3rd oldest member of U2?
9 Which country has the 3rd highest population?

The obvious flaw is that many workers in the hospitality and retail sectors (for whom the scheme was really designed) would be financially better off on €350 per week than 70% of their average earnings.

You would assume first Italy, but very quickly the USA, will be top of the pops very shortly.
Surely the real fear is not the first world, but rather the third world where you have vast city-slums, little to no health care infrastructure and social distancing will be virtually unenforcable."We are not Europeans. Those people on the continent are freaks."

Nothing higher than 5 so far. I'll post the answers in a little bit.
On a sidenote I had considered asking about the 3rd highest mountain, but it was an answer I'd imagine no one would get other than a very keen mountaineer.

I mentioned Italy would quickly be surpassed by Spain but yeah USA are going to be in the most trouble.
I thought the same but Michael Ryan mentioned on the radio that many 3rd world countries have dealt with epidemics in the recent past and are actually more prepared than many 1st world nations in a number of ways, mainly socially.
That's not to say they won't suffer badly but it may not be quite as bad as you'd intuitively believe. Also, some more indications that seasonality will play a part so hopefully that it can be effective to some extent.
