Train for both as they are quite different and it will keep you interested. I prefer short distance running but getting into endurance training is good as you can enter races and that's where you really get the endorphin overload!

I don't 'train' for anything per se but consider variety the key to keeping it interesting so i try to look for somewhere to run everywhere i go - Cairo and the Burren being my two favs this year so far - and set myself regular challenges - one half marathon per quarter, 25 5Ks 25 days in a row, a trail run or forest run ever so often, and now running to and from work (7K) and sometimes at work (10K).

The latter allows you something to 'train' up to but the former keeps it interesting even when a time or event isn't your goal.

Oh... and why does it not surprise me that Hitch would be straight in with a sub 25min 5K

One of my usb drives is fucked it seems. It is a Kingston 64gb one, almost only used to play files on tv that were copied from my laptop, so never goes anywhere weird. Only about 12-18 months old I'd say. Surely it should last longer than that?

When trying to copy files onto it it stops part way through the first file, then I can't do anything with the drive. If I try to format it, it says it is write protected. This happened a couple of weeks ago as well but I somehow managed to format it and that worked, but it's happened again. I tried various different ways of formatting it, tried ways of removing the write protection but nothing worked.

Any ideas? Buy new ones? Surely the life of a flash drive should be longer than that. It isn't over used by any means.
