Gerry Kiernan looks like he's on the tail end of a serious weekend session.

Once every 4 years and you can't even sit in your blocks and wait for the gun. Clowns like that deserve to be fuck'd out.

Dibaba up there with some of the best looking runners at the Olympics. Usually distance runners are too skinny/boney but she is quality.

That tennis was pure class. Absolutely fantastic stuff.

I think we'll see a world record in the 100m if Bolt can avoid tripping over his feet coming out of the blocks.

The tennis in the Olympics h8ers can move on. Every major player who was fit went. All of them played doubles when they never normally do outside Davis Cup. No way you can look at the final, Djokovic in floods of tears etc and not say a gold medal means as much to them as a slam.

The Brits spending really is quite well done. They certainly get a healthy return on their investment but a big drugs scandal would really hurt them now...

It feels like BBC and Cram have toned it down this year. Johnson even had a slight go in the studio.

Btw if you think BBC are bad with British athletes. Try Colombian TV when a Colombian athlete is competing. They go absolutely mental. When a Colombian guy won gold in weightlifting, I think they were shouting drop it when 1 of his rivals was lifting.

Colombian is leading women's triple jump now so excitement galore.

Johnson is so great on the Beeb. Called them out on encouraging Ennis-Hill to continue last night when she's clearly lost the hunger and just pointed out the bs of a gaitlin/bolt rivalry tonight. "Can hardly call it a rivalry when Gaitlin has only beaten him once in 8 attempts". Brilliant.

Unconvinced by Farah or Sir Wiggo for that matter.

Get on it!! Clearly a very fast track and perfect conditions. Plus Bolt won't want to be in the shade on his last Olympics.

He finished 2nd in his semi so he should have been in the centre 6 lanes imo but he's not complaining now.

Think the false start rule will hinder any world record in the 100m. Bolt has so much in hand he doesn't need to risk getting off to a flier which he'd probably need to break it.

From lane 8. Now, he is the World Champ and I don't (nor RTE could) understand how he got drawn out there so him winning isn't unprecedented. Clearly a case of an odd draw creating the context for a crazy flat out effort sans any tactics.

Slow relative to what? I'd I'd imagine pace picks up in the later half for most if not all distances.
But early pace is irrelevant. He had to run low 27:05 to beat Tanui and the others regardless of what they split for 5km. If they were faster earlier with the same finish time, its no harder for Farah to catch them.

Records and medals are based on the finish. And the fact is that Farah fell and still ran one of the fastest Olympic 10k's ever. For that reason it's really an awful piece of evidence for the "not on drugs" argument.

They go absolutely mental. When a Colombian guy won gold in weightlifting, I think they were shouting drop it when 1 of his rivals was lifting.

Turns out her, and nearly all the top gymnasts from that time are training bloody Americans now! No wonder they are so good.

The only possible reason is that road closures for big games is a bit of a tie in.

Story line, pace, sets, script, acting, fun references, atmosphere etc. Just has everything, particularly for an 80s kid like me. Please let the remaining episodes live up to the glory of the first four. Please.
