Losing 6-1 is usually not nice lol but fuck it. Hope the lads do the business now. That was our last league game so I can be a fan from now on. Should make the trip with my brother this weekend a bit better

I work on interfaces between materials and what happens at an atomic level when you deposit metals on semiconductors. More recently I've been looking at how they can be used to extract the hydrogen from water. Obviously these areas are hugely important technologically, but I'd rather just do the science and then let the companies figure out how it can be exploited.Originally posted by DeadParrot View PostPringles aren't crisps m8SPOILER

I have a heart warming story to tell you.
A few months ago I saw a man asking for change he stood out as he was reading a game of thrones book. I hate to say i might not have remembered him otherwise.
Then the next time I saw him. He was looking better kept and waiting in a cafe. Isn't that cool? This is a Shashka. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AN3uhImuy6E Ty Menya Ne Ishi. Ti menya ne stoish. 'Do not look for me you are not worthy of me.'

Salt and Vinegar is an easy winner.
Everyone who prefers cheese and onion feels the need to mention how great they are. Cheese and onion crisp lovers are the iphone having, vegans of crisp eaters.
Salt and Vinegar lovers know they are right in their choice.
Big pack of Hunky Dory salt and vinegar crisps would be lovely right about now.
Someone tell me what to do with ebay there fuckersGo big or go homeless.

I think people have a genuine affection for books they're finding hard or simply don't want to relinquish.
I had thousands of books in Dublin. Every single room in my house was coated from floor to ceiling with them. Moved to London and sold the collection due to lack of space
Would have loved to have a big country house somewhere to keep them all, but no regrets really, as i have 15000 books on my PC and when i wanted to reread one of the paper ones i had, i would read it on the ereader anyway.

I'm probably right down the middle when it comes to the format I read; half the time ebooks via my tablet and the other half physical copies. Ashamed to say that some of the electronic ones are from a huge illegal collection I was given a few years ago, obviously all the physical ones are legal! Feel bad about illegally obtaining books, never illegally obtain games/software, but strangely don't feel the same guilt with regard music or films for some reason. Maybe because I so often pay for live music and go to the cinema?

Not sure how true it is that shows are worth more than album sales but I like the point he was making.

So, IPB Eurovision 2016 Sweep.
26 countries participating, going to strike out theTop 2 in the betting - Australia and Russia. Leaves 24.
Need 8 players @ €20. Honour based system, no escrow, so only known good eggs need apply.
You will get 3 countries each in a random draw overseen by me.
Scoring system - your two lowest scoring countries count, add them together and the lowest overall total scoops the whole pot.
(Interestingly this incredibly simple scoring format causes yearly confusion to the Head of Economics and Tricky Maths Stuff at the Sorbonne)
Open to all but much more fun if you will be watching and drunkenly posting as it happens.

For books, I have never paid for an e-book but will only download those by authors I don't really care about. I will always buy the paper version of a book that I respect the author of.
I download tv shows and movies with zero compunction because, you know, Hollywood.
Yes, I would download a car."We are not Europeans. Those people on the continent are freaks."

I'm doing a 30k hike on the Dublin mountain way tmrw in prep for a 42k hike for Barretstown in a few weeks time. I hate fundraising so I was just going to pay in 100 myself for the cause but I'm beginning to feel like I should maybe do more. Any ideas?
