If you are moaning about FB posts , flag profiles etc you are just being a cynic. How can Joe and Mary soap possibly process the information/misinformation in a short time. They are simply expressing sympathy, some may be OTT but these are proabably the oversensitive. The BBVs intolerance at times is hilarious from burgers to big bang theory.

Why don't we nuke the Saudis and Qataris? Cuts off ISISs funding, hurts wahhabism and as a bonus we can take over their oilfields

It's obviously more complex than that but that's the gist of it.
Worth remembering that before the first country British forces entered during WW1 wasn't France, it was Iraq.
Most of these states, Jordon, Iraq, Syria etc are less then 100 years old, the concept of an Islamic State was in fact promised by the allies in return for a revolt against the ottomans in 1915. Only the desire to control the oil got in the way.People say I should be more humble I hope they understand, they don't listen when you mumble

Not sure if anyone has noticed but we lost the war in Iraq in the end.

Also not sure they can properly be described as a popular movement, as you'd usually understand it. Seems foreign fighters (from outside of Syria/Iraq) make up the bulk of their forces and brutally oppress the Syrians and Iraqis unlucky enough to live under their control. Doubt many locals would shed a tear if they all disappeared somehow.

Bizarrely enough it's quite a poignant expression on his face that captures the mood quite well. Coupled with the innocent lighthearted stereotypes we have for France it's strangely nice.

Some good reading over the last few pages.
Reckon Dublin is safe enough for a bit. Honda is on the job at the airport, what could possibly go wrong?
On a serious note though, where is safe to go on hols anymore. London is surely a major threat, Africa out of the question. Egypt, Turkey no go. Any sympathetic country a risk. I know its first world problems and odds are with you but it would make you think.

I would say Paris will be filled with military and police and be very safe now.

My favourite defriended dickhead was the girl who 'invited' me to do the profile pic French flag thing. After about three hours of just ingnoring it got a pm pretty much accusing me of being on their side, "we can't let them win, you're either with us or with them". I did ask if my profile pic contained the answer to world peace but I'm still waiting for a response.

In most other religions it is easy enough to dodge the logical conclusions of the dogma but in islam it is much harder.
Crucially because there is no real hierarchy that separates the church from political power there is much more room for separating the personal from the political.
Many Muslims want to be more secular and tolerant but within the structures of most mosque their place in the community and society it is very hard to stand outside.
There is very little room for an equivalent of standing down the back of the church and skipping out to the pub after communion.Turning millions into thousands
