On the vegan thing, the reason I'm on another of my periodic ' I really don't want to say it but I think all vegans are frauds' kick is a recent encounter with a pair of preachy vegans who had all the good sensible hard to argue with patter. I was close to being worn down by the sincerity and wholesomeness of their arguments when the next thing they opened a box of marlboro lights and started smoking in front of me, in a closed room albeit inside their own home.

While joking there is an element to truth to that, the only reason I want to earn more is to give away more but I won't inhibit my lifestyle completely, you can't live like that. That is why people often set rules like giving away 50% of their money to charity and spending the rest on whatever they want, instead of being like oh i can't buy these expensive shoes, i could be giving that money to charity and overthinking everything they ever do with money. Seems to me you are equating veganism with diet rather than an ethical framework, that's not veganism, that's a plant based diet. What SP is getting at is that by smoking you are harming those around you, including yourself and wants to know philosophically if smoking is "unvegan behaviour" and why. What he is really asking is smoking unethical. There are not many good street talking vegans, the good ones are usually in a suit at conferences or are lecturers rather than the your average hippy man in the street. Those poeple have likely read books, and listened to talks about it and have a hard time being eloquent about regurgitating and making such information concise. If you stick on cowspiracy on netflix, I wonder what you would think of the environmental aspect?

It's a kindof odd question is all, it's like saying is driving vegan? To answer these cases you have to ask what are the motivations behind their ethical framework. They don't want to harm others? Then smoking that hurts themselves is fine. However smoking that causes harm to others around them would not be. Then you can imagine that some tobacco companies test on animals and that would not be ethical to them either. Did you ask them how they justify it?

Perhaps it is the fact that nobody is a paragon of virtue, that they are striving to be more moral but that does not mean they are saints. It's almost like going "aha you do this one thing wrong, that invalidates all your other effort!" If smoking is bad due to second hand smoke that has nothing got to do veganism alone and should not be asked "is smoking vegan?", "rather is smoking moral/ethical?"

To add to today's general thievery, the thread over on boards BA about Aliexpress is probably worth following. I don't know how it hasn't been closed yet. It's a knockoff site for cheap Chinese stuff. I have noticed for the actual branded stuff you need to search as the seller has it hidden away in some obscure place. It is probably best for small bits and pieces but looking at a few videos on youtube the quality seems very good on things like branded runners, clothes, blah. I'm not interested in buying a pair but was looking at an unboxing video of Beats headphones (17 quid) to show you the kind of quality in fakes. Plenty of the other stuff is Chinese made cheap stuff. I haven't ordered anything yet so can't comment any further on any of the stuff personally. For Ecig stuff it is also suppose to be very good.

Running your own business is the biggest cunt of a thing you can do when the shit hits the fan. I came within about 10 mins of losing it all & still not out of the woods. So frustrating when its completely out of your hands or control & due to other peoples fuck-ups. Whoever coined the phrase "German Efficiency" is clearly deluded. No wonder the pricks can't win a war.
