I was hoping you'd chime in! I understand that removing the 8th amendment doesn't legalise abortion, but I assumed that legislation becomes easier to write with it gone (as I said in my second post there).

Well you can legalise it once Art 40.3.3 is gone but whether or not its constitutional afterwards is a little more difficult. You have a right to life. To whom that right extends and to what extent the Courts should protect the unborn under any future Constitutional regime would be unclear. There's an argument for leaving it up to the Courts in the sense that an explicit removal of the previous article would clearly indicate the will of the people but it's really not certain at all.

Can you not prepare legislation even have it ready to be signed by the president pending a constitutional change that it would need to be compliant.

Wouldn't that have been the way it worked for some amendments previously like EU treaties

You can't write the legislation until after the amendment is passed. The Oireachtas must at all times operate constitutionally. That's why they didn't start writing the Marriage Bill until after the referendum passed.

Donkeys has gone downhill a lot. Fuscos is probably the best chipper in Limerick now imo.

The problem i have with Beshoffs is they dont do most of the sundries chippers do. They just want to sell the big money fish and chips!. Everything seems tied in as a combo.
Also last time i was in the Howth one i didnt like the fancy tray they came in. Needs to be in a bag. The Howth one is a bit of a rip like Jack Charltons ones back then. The fish was fresh though.
I havent been in the Dublin ones recently though.

There was a Ramsdens (jackys chippe)on the Long Mile Road,/Nass Road ORDER ON. Was doomed from the offset due to it's location. Was just before the tiger though when the world and their little sister bought a car. Bad timing . Thought Jackie took a hit

Sorry meant to say box. I sent a runner in there for spice burger or sausage in batter and chips but he came back saying they werent on the menu and the fish and chips were the only real option. It was nice hit the spot without being too filling.
Im keen to try the chips in rapeseed oil, the less fat ones.

We do have sausage in batter. No spice burgers though. We will have new season potatoes in around 2 to 3 weeks which will be off the charts good.

No wave/post-rock going back to 1981, the singer is now 60-years-old and the six piece band hosts a topless percussionist called Thor who did a trombone & dulcimer routine the likes of which i've rarely seen.

Brothers of Sonic Youth, sons of Black Sabbath & Neil Young, Godfathers to bands such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor & Nirvana.

Pure awesome. Here's a short doc for anyone interested.

He dragged the whole squad there the day before a qualifier vs Austria (iirc). Half the team took the "Ramsdens challenge" -ie eat some big fuck off load of fish n chips and you get it free or something. I think only Gary Kelly managed it. We lost at Landsdowne the next day anyhow.
