Looks like Carlsen is getting back on top today but Anand is making a better match of it than I expected And tdays game has had loads of crazy shit going on.

Game 3 is well worth looking at for anyone who is interested I like Laurence Trent's commentary. The real problem for SF (besides attracting sufficient middle class support in an overwhelmingly middle class country) will be lining up putative coalition partners. FF would be signing their own death warrant. The fringe left is way too splintered to be taken seriously as potential government material (although it would be funny, Mick Wallace for Transport).

Personally see the most interesting aspect of the next election as being what happens to FF.

Did a fly out 6.30am Friday, fly back 8.00am Saturday and don't bother with a hotel room trip. Never again, too old for drinking a hatful before a game and then more again afterwards, need the safety net of a bed.

It's just awesome. Digitally remastered long lost session tapes, only released, 38 tracks on this, 138 in the whole volume.

You seem to be treating Sinn Fein like they are a normal political party. The Sinn Fein leadership include people who ordered and took part in bombings, shootings, and executions. You don't stab these people in the back for good media or politicking.

Politics (or at least getting something done in politics) is about attaining, and then utilising effectively, power.

As such, there's very little point to voting for micro-parties and independents in the Irish setup. Some of them are no doubt good people - O'Sullivan, Donnelly spring to mind. Got to the jigsaw stage with the daughter now where we jumble up maybe six jigsaws together in a bag, pour them on the ground, and then she speed completes them. They're not big jigsaws, maybe 20 pieces each, but she's unerringly smart at always picking out the right piece, and gets each one done in less than two minutes.

Getting to that dangerous stage of thinking she's clearly some sort of genius.

Is there some sort of standard methodology for computing genius based on jigsaw skills?

Going to get the older kids jigsaws in Smyths tomorrow and see how she fares, but after the last hour or so of skill display I'm thinking of putting a heads-up call into Oxford to expect her on her tenth birthday.
