The Carlsen Anand Chess match is great entertainment
Looks like Carlsen is getting back on top today but Anand is making a better match of it than I expected And tdays game has had loads of crazy shit going on.
Game 3 is well worth looking at for anyone who is interested I like Laurence Trent's commentary. Todays game 6 was a clusterfuck, Carlsen actually made a huge blunder that gave Anand a chance to steal the game but even though you could clearly see change in Carlsen's face and body language the moment he made the move Anand managed to completely miss it!Last edited by Strewelpeter; 15-11-14, 15:28.Turning millions into thousands

The real problem for SF (besides attracting sufficient middle class support in an overwhelmingly middle class country) will be lining up putative coalition partners. FF would be signing their own death warrant. The fringe left is way too splintered to be taken seriously as potential government material (although it would be funny, Mick Wallace for Transport).
Personally see the most interesting aspect of the next election as being what happens to FF."We are not Europeans. Those people on the continent are freaks."

The very few shinners who have a clue will merge with FF in opposition in the next Dail and dump Grizzliy and whatever other murderers and thugs remain, they will be first isolated and then dumped. Boyzone covering The Whole Of The Moon, a little bit of vomit came up.
Passenger and Dido do very good covers though.
This too shall pass.

I can't understand why anyone, least of all a Sinn Feiner, would give FF any preference. You do realise SF have considerably more to gain from the potential demise of FF than any other party?
Did you happen to catch Mehole Martin's speech in the Rail this week? It was pretty much the opposite of what you seem to be hoping for."We are not Europeans. Those people on the continent are freaks."

Game takes my away supporter record to 1 draw and 5 defeats, terrible stuff. Whilst they were all tough games on paper its definitely the record of a jonah.
Did a fly out 6.30am Friday, fly back 8.00am Saturday and don't bother with a hotel room trip. Never again, too old for drinking a hatful before a game and then more again afterwards, need the safety net of a bed.
Haven't seen much reaction yet but we seemed fairly dreadful, really hard to be optimistic either short term about getting out of this group or medium term for future campaigns.

Bought Dylan & The Band's Basement tapes Vol 11 today. First cd I've bought in about two years, it's not on google play.
It's just awesome. Digitally remastered long lost session tapes, only released, 38 tracks on this, 138 in the whole volume.
Get it.I hold silver in tit for tat, and I love you for that

Of course, but I wouldn't be then looking to boot them out of government for making compromises.Last edited by Denny Crane; 15-11-14, 20:40.

It's one thing to back stab some watery d4 career politician, I don't think you do it to Gerry Adams et al. Whatever about the famed Haughey stare, the cold dead eyes of the infamous Adams rage stare has more than politics behind it. I wouldn't turn on him, would you?

As such, there's very little point to voting for micro-parties and independents in the Irish setup. Some of them are no doubt good people - O'Sullivan, Donnelly spring to mind. I even have a sneaking regard for Joe Higgins. But Jaysus, the rest - Lowry ffs. Healy-Rea, Boyd-Barrett, Wallace, McGrath. You might as well wipe your area with your ballot paper."We are not Europeans. Those people on the continent are freaks."

Always makes me laugh when I hear people comparing FG to the Nazis or whatever. None of them would get past a primary contest for the Dems in the states (for being too unelectably leftie). In many ways the most right-wing party in Ireland is actually SF."We are not Europeans. Those people on the continent are freaks."

If SF are to get into Government it'll be 2 elections minimum from now. Actually a hung Dail would be a great result for them in many ways. You are technically correct...the best kind of correct

People claiming that this photo is faked are actually the pinnacle of pathetic conspiracy theorists. The independent is hardly a paragon of unbiased reporting but they're not gonna mess about with something like this!

Getting to that dangerous stage of thinking she's clearly some sort of genius.
Is there some sort of standard methodology for computing genius based on jigsaw skills?
Going to get the older kids jigsaws in Smyths tomorrow and see how she fares, but after the last hour or so of skill display I'm thinking of putting a heads-up call into Oxford to expect her on her tenth birthday.
