Is it possible to conceive of a worse structure for a competition than the Champions League? Mind bogglingly boring, designed in such a way as to inflate the number of meaningless no contest games between teams that couldn't give a shit to the maximum degree while ensuring that the stakes are as low as possible for the big teams for as long as possible.

Sitting watching it here contemplating putting my eyes out with a spoon. The worst entertainment in existence outside of that Big Bang Theory garbage.

Looking at the same, battery life is very very good apparently. 15 hours doable for very high usage, Danny posted a graph showing 2+ days battery life left on his recently. Worth a gamble at that price imo.

Not sure if this is a feature that has always been there but I only noticed after a recent update, when you type in the same unlock code no doubt people can catch a glimpse and easily figure it out, new feature scrambles the keypad layout every time which I think is quite clever, might be a bit of nightmare if pissed though

One plus battery is amazing, the phone itself is fantastic, I have had both an iPhone and a Samsung and this really is the nuts.
Played IPO and literally did not put the phone down. Spotify playing whilst browsing Twitter,IPB, FB etc. Even squeezed a film in on netflix. 11 hours+ of play and was on 38% when I got home.

Good phone would buy again.

Sinn Fein's numbers are really really soft. They're too variable to not be. One more scandal and they are back to Labour type numbers.

Also think at the next election we will see a "Gilmore for Taoiseach" effect in Sinn Fein. People are happy to say they'll vote for them but the second it appears as if they might actually get somewhere the numbers will have a serious readjustment. Expect to see (assuming there are no more scandals) Sinn Fein peak in the polls about 3 weeks out and then nose dive down into 12-14% territory when people get second thoughts.

Also they will be absolutely hammered by Fianna Fail and Labour for the next year. Not like they have previously. I expect it to get really focused and issue specific. Labour are coming at their left (which is hard considering how many fringe left leaning candidates are out there occupying the left) and Fianna Fail from the right.

20 seats is likely a pipe dream for them to be honest. Expect their vote to be really weakened by independent locals.

Is it ok now to use Wikipedia as a reference ? Not being a dick but a few years ago, once someone quoted a wiki article it was game over, can a student reference them in a thesis ?

I understand why you used them, its probably simpler for a lay man to get through them then say the actual scientific paper and i am sure the wiki article references the paper so all seems to be right with the world again.

They then mangle the knockout stages to the point where you could have a 12 hour debate on whether it makes more sense for the home team or away team to play more defensively at any given moment.

The GAA Championship is obviously a million miles from perfect, but any time I see a "Champions League style" suggestion for improving it these days I immediately puke violently. Can't believe I used to think it was a good idea.

Its mathematically impossible for any game in the first 4 rounds of the groups to be a dead rubber, so theres no way they can be 'by far the most common games'.
Unless you count dead rubbers to mean one-sided games like Chelsea last night.

Knockout stages of the CL are generally fantastic. Two legged ties do lead to some curious situations re attack/defense in the first leg but that's hardly a 'mangling' of the knockouts. I've always been undecided about the effects of the away goals rule, still genuinely don't know if its good or bad.

Soccer is quite terrible at times, some games fade to 0-0, other games are barely watchable hidings, others are 1-0 where a team locks up shop and kills the spectacle.
That's all in the nature of the game, not the format of the CL.

I do the same. Find a review article about a topic and instead of citing it 15 times, cite it once and then the various articles it references further on in the paper.
