I really hope Irish water take those notices seriously and disconnect the water from the sub human imbeciles that use them and then charge them the full cost to reconnect.Turning millions into thousands

I think the sub-human imbeciles are the people who welcome the Irish Water, meters and bills, when they already have a water service that they are already paying for.
These protests may be crude and misdirected, but the frustration is legitimate and should be respected.
I for one would be happy with the transfer of the provision of water services if I saw a corresponding tax break, fair metered usage, and profits reinvested to improve system. Not going to happen.Happiness is not a goal; it is a by-product. ~Eleanor Roosevelt

If you don't like having clean fresh water in abundance delivered right into your home at a cost of a couple of cent per litre then dig your own well.
Simple as that.
The argument that consumer services like water should be self financing based on consumption has been done and dusted, the Shinners are the only semi serious political party pretending not to be in favour of it and they don't really believe their own position which is 180 degrees from their position in the North.
If people are concerned about the consumer pays principle being brought in for services that were traditionally paid for out of general taxation I'd suggest there are more significant changes coming down the line in areas like health, education, environment and transport and perhaps there are arguable cases to be made for and against some of those areas.
Whether or not there will be an equivalent write down in taxation is moot. It remains up to all citizens to ensure that all government spending is relevant and disciplined.Turning millions into thousands

Sky seem to own the cables in the apt block so that's the only physical line option.
Anybody got any experience with the reliability of a 4g dongle in south Dublin?

The water in my estate is manky dirty.
People have to install softeners and drink bottled water it's so bad.

Just been for some Pho in Pho Saigon beside Connolly.
Absolutely the best pho in Dublin. If anyone is around the IFSC and looking for something different for lunc, I'd recommend.
Have tried all 3 Viet places in town now and this one is comfortably the best. This may or may not be an original thought of my own.
All efforts were made to make this thought original but with the abundance of thoughts in the world the originality of this thought cannot be guaranteed.

Doesn't Vodafone in Ireland have the same add on as the UK where you can get your home tariff for £2 a day whilst abroad?

As for the case itself, jesus I don't really know. I think the natural human instinct is to side with the victim regardless of whatever evidence is presented. As you said, there was a lot of testifying from a lot of people, a lot of which seemed not to be admissible.

Irish Water is a statutory subsidiary of Bord Gais. Like all State monopolies (Irish Water is clearly a monopoly) the provision of the service is subsumed from the activities of the State. Irish Water simply takes over the services previously supplied by the County Councils and then undertakes the duties required of it by Statute. Bord Gais is a semi-state and therefore so is Irish Water. They are both created by Statute.

So, in short, there is no contract created by the Act.

Maybe there is one individual factor causing cancer in Ireland, but without evidence, assigning it to any one cause is pure speculation. There have been numerous studies comparing civilian health between comparable populations, including before and after data. The only effect that water flouridation has been shown to have is improved dental hygiene.Last edited by AndyFatBastard; 15-07-14, 14:49."I can’t find anyone who agrees with what I write or think these days, so I guess I must be getting closer to the truth." - Hunter S.
