I suppose this is why people charge big mark up;
The most exciting moment of the day came in Level 5 when five players ended up all-in preflop in the same hand. After the under-the-gun player raised to 1,100, a middle-position player moved all in for 11,700. Right behind the shove, Mac Sohrabi was in the hijack seat and reraised all in for 23,100. Then, the player on the button called all in for 16,550 before action slid over to Yurel Eminoglu in the big blind. Eminoglu tanked long enough to have two players call the clock on him, and he eventually moved all in as well. Action then fell back on the original raiser, who snap-called, and hands were revealed.
Under-the-gun player: {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Middle-position shove: {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Sohrabi: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Button: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Eminogla: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
A large crowd gathered to watch the board run out {7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades}, and Sohrabi's queens held up to win the main pot worth around 100,000. Eminogla scooped a side pot from the player who held the {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and moved to 150,300 in chips. The other three players were eliminated.

This has to be the most OTT description of a hand ever!
Steve Zolotow Springs the Ambush on Unsuspecting Amateur
Earlier in the day we encountered a fairly common sight on the first day of a World Series of Poker tournament: a lively player with a larger stack than he started with, beginning to table talk as if the tournament was already won.
"See, now I called there, I just called," the player told his latest victim. "That means I might've had a flush draw, but you didn't notice."
With more than 45,000 during the first level of play, the player had plenty of reason to feel confident, and he regaled the table with stories of his strategic prowess.
"Now, I have my reasons for everything I do," the player continued, after opening for a large raise before the flop that many players would not consider to be standard operating procedure. "The number of limpers, my position, who's left to act behind me... there's a lot of factors behind my moves. It's something like a Rubik's cube."
Steve Zolotow, a noted tactician on the felt who has cashed dozens of times at the WSOP, winning two gold bracelets in his long and storied tournament career, decided to join the lively conversation, telling the player not to reveal too much so early in such an important event.
"Don't give away your strategy now," said Zolotow with a sinner's smile spreading across his face. "Just keep on doing what you're doing... it's working."
With the pit now dug and a thatch of fresh leaves laid over his trap, Zolotow returned his focus to the game at hand, and a few hours passed by without incident.
That is, of course, until Zolotow found the perfect opportunity to double through his mark. With the flop of 3 5 2 arranged neatly across the felt, and a bet already in front of the amateur opponent, Zolotow raised it up to 6,500 and stared silently into the ether.
"How much do you have left there?," said the player to the pro, before suddenly shoving his stack forward for an all-in move.
He soon found out that Zolotow had precisely 32,050 in his stack, as the experienced tournament player and veteran of the famed Mayfair Club in New York City snapped him off with 3 3 for a flopped set.
The once confident player could do nothing but turn over A Q in shock, his Rubik's cube suddenly a jumble of discordant colors. When the turn (J) and river (A) failed to deliver a face saving four, Zolotow secured a well deserved double, the predator having laid a trap hours earlier before waiting patiently to ambush his prey.

WSOP update Michael Farrelly
I cashed in 3 out of 5 braclet events that I played in and one Venetian Deepstack. Happy enough with first Vegas trip but could have gone a lot deeper in at least two of the bracelets.
Total life earnings: $328,420. Latest cash: $885 on 01-Apr-2024. Click here to see the details of Michael Farrelly's 92 cashes.
Still in main event, very short stacked, but been there before. It's been a hell of an experience and has certainly helped to identify some leaks in my game.

We have Mizrachi coolering a guy to race into a huge early lead, guys folding KK preflop, A royal flush on the board, Hellmuth getting Shaun Deeb to call all in for 50bb (15k) with AKo and he 3bet to 2800 and called Hellmuths 21k 4bet and other funky stuff. Good catch up!
BIGMICKG isn't in the field, he's back to his alternative alias

We passed by Johnny Chan's table a few times hoping to catch the master in action, but instead we found Mick "Tall Michael" Graydon extracting value from an unfortunate opponent

So how many chips would you have left going into Day 2 of the Main Event if you blinded out for the entire day? Well Tom Dwan has 16,175 and Gus Hansen has about the same because they decided to stay playing OFC for $3k a point instead. I saw a tweet of Gus winning a $135k hand at one stage.
