Hi All,
Am heading to NYC for a week and plan to spend 2 days days and 1 night in Atlantic City.
Any advise on places to stay/places to play would be great. Thanks.
Probably wouldnt advise 2 days down there unless you have done NY a few times.
Ive been to AC 3 times (7 days roughly). Ive stayed in two different hotels one was a holiday inn type about a €10 spin from the Boardwalk.
I stayed in the Resorts the second time as i was there for 4 days i wanted a pool and spa area. The rooms were dated but large. Id probably recommend the place really.
Check out a few prices for the dates your going and post them. If you go midweek it will be dirt cheap.

Borgata is the nuts as a poker destination. Prob a bit pricey to stay in but Harrah's & Golden Nugget are nearest to Borgata (walking distance). Poker Room is amazing.
Discovered a great iPhone app while I was there. Bravo Poker Live - it lists all the live games US-Wide so you can quickly see what games are running closest to you (GPS based), waiting lists/times e.t.c. - check it out.

Have to agree here, Borgata is the place to stay. Poker room very impressive and rooms pool spa restaurants all 5 star. Closest thing to a vegas style resort.
Go straigt for the Borgata, by far the classiest joint in town and the best place to play
This. Borgata has the best poker in AC by far and is a decent spot also for shows/bars/restaurants etc. They also have a poker rate so enquire about that. The ACES train goes direct to AC from Penn Station and takes about 2hrs 15mins iirc. Borgata is a 5min cab ride from the train station. You will need to register for a players card so bring a passport as they won't always take another form of ID. Borgata gets busy at weekends so watch out for check in queues. Do as much as you can online before arrival and check the poker schedule in advance if playing tournaments.
If you are more of a cash player check out Parx Casino in Pennsylvania. About 2 hrs from New York and they have a decent poker room. Lots of cash action and definitely softer than the borgata. You would need a car though.
