Cardroom withholding funds WWYD?

So, A while back I cashed in a tourney in a casino that I rarely visit.
Told that €70 would be taken from my winnings and available in club credit.
Explained that I don't attend cardroom often but met with blank expression by cardroom manager so decided not to press the issue.

When I visited a few months later I tried to use the club credit but same cardroom manager had no record of withheld funds (computer was broken). He told me he'd investigate and sort me out on my next visit.

Rang the club a few weeks later and told that they found my results and would leave a note on computer crediting me €70 upon my next visit.

Went there two weeks ago and asked about $$$....Nobody had any record of results/funds withheld.

TLDR; Casino witheld funds from prizepool to be paid in club credit. Lost results and I'm out €70

Never heard of Club credit before, lol them calling it that as it's not credit it's your money they won't give you back, can you pm me name of club please would like to stay clear of this place!

If they are being difficult about the whole thing, name & shame. Have never heard of a club holding back a % of prizepool for credit for a player, you have asked to use it twice and can't.

If I was told I had club credit in a club that I shipped a tourney in, I'd tell them to go fuck themselves, u gotta name them, if they post here( which I hope they do, cos it will be funny), then u will have a better chance of getting ur money! Definitely name them, go on!!!!!

Easy work around would be to tell them you want to buy into cash game with that "Credit" (lol out loud) fold a hand and cash out

Ive never heard such crap before whatever about some clubs giving a tourney ticket from a large prizepool this stinks.
They see a guy who rarely plays there come up with this credit lark and shock horror when u return they have no recollection.

I doubt your the first and wont be the last seems like a scam premeditated maybe thats me being cynical.

Id demand my 70 euro throw a fit when the place is full they basically have taken 70 euro out of your pocket would u let someone on the street take it?

Sometimes getting nasty is the only thing that works being nice has got you nowhere say you will out them and make there name dirt and when you get your 70 euro name and shame them anyway wankers.

I see no reason not to name the club if only to let us know that they pay with tournament credit.

I got stung for €100 club credit when the Mayfair Casino on Harcourt st suddenly closed down.
Thought club credit was a thing of the past but nobody really questioned it at the time.
They would work it like 1st 1100, 2nd 700 3rd 450, 4th-6th €100 club credit for the end of month game.

And perhaps an extra line or two will need to be added to the Tournament charter - i.e. whether funds will be withheld in credit, whether receipts for said credit will be issued etc...

Think you're being more than decent in holding off naming them, maybe the email will produce the desired result, but tbh think you should name them anyway, you may not be the first or last to experience these missing records.

When I ran casino taking money off players from winnings was optimal, used to offer holding money back for future tournaments, if they said no, fair enough, other said yeah, used to log it into computer and diary for back up, which they signed.

Would never dream of taking money from players without their say so.

Td - on basis that club credit could be used for reason other than future tournaments, i.e. entry to cash games, play at gaming tables etc..., the above questions may not cover all possibilities.

If i ever ran a card room, i'd be fully in favour of offering tournament credit to players. It would no be with the intention to scam, but just to get them back in the door. I think it's a great idea. I'd also offer pre paid tournament entries minus reg fee and some other promos to get players back in the door.

If i was a regular then it wouldn't bother me in the slightest if they offered tournament credit. Pretty sure you could even nab a fiver off by taking the credit, and do this 3/4 times and it's 100% +EV

Issue resolved. Clerical error by the cardroom. Owner has contacted me and offered a resolution which I'm happy with. I think the issue stemmed from an overly militant TD rather than any premeditated strategy. Shit happens I guess. All's well that ends well.
