FWIW..I reckon the Taranaki v Hawkes bay clash in the ITM cup in a few hours has the Bay way overpriced. They are massive underdogs on every sportsbook I can find..with the best price being 7/2 on Wm Hills. +9 @10/11 aswell. Every team has a huge incentive playing the holders of the Ranfurly shield (as Taranaki are currently) which you win if you beat them. Taranaki have lost their outhalf and talisman Beauden Barrett to the All Black squad after Dan Carter's injury also.

Zebre are the remenants of Aironi and are at home but may take some matches to get used to playing with each other.
Personally dont know enough about them but they shipped four trys last week in the first half against the dragons who are a poor enough team.
If Dan Parks very reliable big boot was playing id fancy a conn win Nikora is hit and miss.
Its on tg4 at 18.05 and the conn team the pack looks good second row and back row esp.
I fancy connacht to win by a score so will have a small wager and watch it on mute.

Dirty day promised in Wellington rain and wind and no Dan Carter or Sonny Bill.
Spread is 25 with all blacks sublime skills less affected by the rain i think.
However crap conditions area great leveller against a tough pack like argies could be a proper slog.
Argies gave away too many penaltys last match away and could be in trouble even if Leguizimon is a great asset to have back.
Still think nz will get the 4 try bonus not sure of theyll beat 25 .

Connacht V Scarlets 15th september @15.00 live on TG4.
Last week we backed connacht this week we have to oppose them.
They play an form in Sarlets and are riddled with injury to key personnel.
A whole new backrow a 20 year old at scrum half and a first start for Dave Mcsharry who along with Eoin griffin provides a very young center partnership.
Facing them in midfield is Scott Williams and Jonathan Davies two internationals and excellent players.
With the massive and skilled George North on the wing can see them causing huge problems and scoring tries.
With weather staying fairly settled feel the Scarlets have the ability to run up a big score.
They have a much more experienced bench too.
Scarlets win -5 pts 10/11 available at ladbrokes william hill and stan james.

Connacht again on tv tonight v Leinster on tg 4 at 8 o clock.
Connacht have a swathe of injuries and Dan Parks makes his eagerly awaited debut for the westerners.
Facing them is a misfiring but dangerous Leinster team who stuttered to a win last weekend against a very poor Edinburgh side i was at the game and they made many individual mistakes but just rustyness i think.
The leinster pack looks a big callow but then u look at the bench an all international front 3 Healy Ross and Cronin not what ya want to see coming on at 50 mins if u a conn player.
The backline is very young and surely Nacewa and Kearney and McfADDEN will deal with
the highballs which will rain down on them all night.
Nacewa particularly is a deadly counter attacker.
Henshaw is only 19 and its a huge test for him used to play with his father many moons ago .
Think it can be close for 55 60 with the leinster bench winning it for them that and a much superior and experienced backline.
Leinster -6pts at 10/11 looks good.
However i have gone for a short double of leinster win at 2/5 and Clermont to beat StadeFrancasi by 13 or more at 8/15
Clermont unbeaten
in 44 games in top 14 and are playing well 5 out of 6 wins againsta stuttering stade side who have rested there captain parisse contemponi and there kicker and full back is benched.
Like many french men they have flown the white flag before a ball has even been kicked.
Clermont getting a 4try bonus and a hefty win looks most likely here.
I should try and get a review before others but hard when teams are not out.
Connacht: 15 Robbie Henshaw, 14 Tiernan O'Halloran, 13 Eoin Griffin, 12 Dave McSharry, 11 Fetu'u Vainikolo, 10 Dan Parks, 9 Kieran Marmion, 8 George Naoupu, 7 Johnny O'Connor, 6 Eoin McKeon, 5 Mike McCarthy, 4 Michael Swift, 3 Nathan White (c), 2 Adrian Flavin, 1 Denis Buckley.
Replacements: 16 Jason Harris-Wright, 17 Brett Wilkinson, 18 Ronan Loughney, 19 Dave Gannon, 20 Willie Faloon, 21 Dave Moore, 22 Miah Nikora, 23 Mata Fifita.
Leinster: 15 Rob Kearney, 14 Fergus McFadden, 13 Brendan Macken, 12 Gordon D'Arcy, 11 Isa Nacewa, 10 Ian Madigan, 9 John Cooney, 8 Leo Auva'a, 7 Shane Jennings (c), 6 Ben Marshall, 5 Tom Denton, 4 Quinn Roux, 3 Jamie Hagan, 2 Thomas Sexton, 1 Heinke van der Merwe.
Replacements: 16 Sean Cronin, 17 Cian Healy, 18 Mike Ross, 19 Devin Toner, 20 Jordi Murphy, 21 Luke McGrath, 22 Noel Reid, 23 Fionn Carr.

Leinster pack is savage if not ball-carrying.
Serious grunt there. I don't think Connacht are going to have much fun at the breakdown.
That being said, it's all grunt and not a whole lot of subtle, and if the referee refs the breakdown strictly, we'll see plenty of Connacht penalties. Parks will kick them. That's about all he does.
Interest bet in TO'H scoring a try. No idea what price, not looking for value. Just think he's outrageously talented. Connacht direct everything through him, and he reads the game brilliantly. Leinster have been leaking trys this year like no other!

Even if conn get ahead up front cant see it that leinster backline is class Macken player super last week has real pace and the rest not bad either.

AIL back today.
Skerries away to Instonians in 2B looks the standout bet. Promoted from juniors last year, have very impressive backline (Chris Keane, Dave Hewitt, Mikey Sherlock etc), been impressive in Leinster Senior Cup so far this year. Obviously tough to travel away in what's a real dogfight of a division but 13/5 and +8 on the spread looks way out of line to me. Would have made it a pretty even game.

I think there is probably easier groups to look for value in as I think this will be the most contended group in the competition and will end up super tight. This will lead to no top points extra spot in the next round cutting down the numbers who get out.
If it s to trade out at a later stage I presume you are really looking for who will get out of the group stages. I think Munster and Ospreys (potential as a second) should make it out and may give you a decent enough price.
If I was punting small for fun Harliquins to get out as a runner up would be mine. Biaritz should take the group and I dont think we will be able be able to repeat last years performance at the stoop. Zebre are no threat obviously. Group has 2 teams beaten badly by the top 2 and head to head for first and second which I would expect the French to take.
Emmet is probs your man as he follows the other leagues a lot closer when I am really just a highlights guy. Love this competition tho
EDIT:
I could be miles out on my thinking tho

not too sure about munster tbh, bringing poc back this weekend,(is it a bit rushed)along with penneys vision for the future.there's little expectation down here but we'll know more after the weekend i guess.at the very least ulster look very clinical and focused, squad rotation and depth might be a problem in later stages perhaps.they have plenty of heart tho.Mattie McGrath wanna-be

Heineken cup time any value tomorrow may have spotted some.
Clermont Avergne play Scarlets tommorow in the stade michelin where they have not lost in 3 years including 11 heineken cup games.
They had a scare last week against Stade but this week there etam looks very strong.
ASM Clermont Auvergne: 15 Lee Byrne, 14 Sitiveni Sivivatu, 13 Aurelien Rougerie, 12 Wesley Fofana, 11 Naipolioni Nalaga, 10 Brock James, 9 Morgan Parra, 8 Damien Chouly, 7 Gerhard Vosloo, 6 Julien Bonnaire, 5 Nathan Hines, 4 Jamie Cudmore, 3 Davit Zirakashvili, 2 Benjamin Kayser, 1 Thomas Domingo.
Replacements: 16 Ti'i Paulo, 17 Vincent Debaty, 18 Daniel Kotze, 19 Julien Pierre, 20 Elvis Vermeulen, 21 Loic Jacquet, 21 Ludovic Radosavljevic, 22 David Skrela, 23 Benson Stanley.
The front five has so much power and brutality in the second row from Cudmore and Hines who also has silky hands.
A very good backline with the potential to rack up a big score if there forwards dominate which they should.
That pack should crush .
Scarlets have a under 20 prop starting who won a man of the match last week in the rabo league but this is a huge step up Domingo and Zirachashveli are really tough customers.
The weather is promised fine a little cloud Clermont will be gunning for a 5 pointer here after Leinster have just edged them the last 2 seasons and i think they will get it
10/11 Clermont win -12 points is the bet.@Boylesports others are -14 -15
Scarlets have some class too though
Scarlets: 15 Liam Williams, 14 George North, 13 Jonathan Davies, 12 Scott Williams, 11 Morgan Stoddart, 10 Rhys Priestland, 9 Tavis Knoyle, 8 Rob McCusker (capt), 7 Josh Turnbull, 6 Aaron Shingler, 5 Johan Snyman, 4 George Earle, 3 Samson Lee, 2 Matthew Rees, 1 Phil John.
Replacements: 16 Ken Owens, 17 Shaun Hopkins, 18 Deacon Manu, 19 Sione Timani, 20 Kieran Murphy, 21 Gareth Davies, 22 Aled Thomas, 23 Gareth Maule.
North is one of europes finest wingers the centers are very good too but without the ball they can do very little and that burly Clermont pack should starve them of it and mangle them in the scrums.

At home they are good and walloped Northampton last year 41- 22 but they ahd the top14 player of the year Chris Masoe at no 8 last year hes now in Toulon.
Northampton have a 5 day turn around and can have discipline issues Hartley and Lawes esp.
They are a throuroughly dislikeable team.
Weather is promised wet and warm 19 degrees Romain Teulet who has a remarkable record with the boot however Castres have only won 1 of there last 10 games against Castres
id avoid it myself Clermont and now Toulon are the only french teams i trust.

Sunday Johnny Wilkinsons Toulon play a poor Cardiff blues team who went down to a Sale team devoid of coinfidence last week.
This week they play a team high on coinfidence and full of power and talent.
Toulon: 15 Delon Armitage, 14 Vincent Martin, 13 Mathieu Bastareaud, 12 Matt Giteau, 11 David Smith, 10 Jonny Wilkinson, 9 Frederic Michalak, 8 Chris Masoe, 7 Steffon Armitage, 6 Juan Fernandez Lobbe, 5 Jocelino Suta, 4 Bakkies Botha, 3 Davit Kubriashvili, 2 Mickael Ivaldi, 1 Gethin Jenkins.
Replacements: 16 Jean-Charles Orioli, 17 Andrew Sheridan, 18 Carl Hayman, 19 Pierrick Gunther, 20 Maxime Mermoz, 21 Benjamin Lapeyre, 22 Nicolas Durand, 23 Simon Shaw.
The pack is awesome with a mouthwatering backrow of Masoe top 14 player of the year last year Armitage should be england possibly lions starter and Argie captain Lobbe as good a back row only bettered by the all black backrow imo.
A quick look at the bench and we see Carl Hayman and Andrew Sheridan ready to spring after 50 mins not what you want if your a Cardiff front rower and evergreen Simon SHAW too.
Will get penaltys off the scrum i think.
They will strangle the Cardiff pack who have some good back Roberts Cuthbert and Halfpenny.
They will spend the match on the backfoot and Toulon have plenty of game winners in there backline.
Toulon -6pts at 10/11 looks like the value available in Boyles and Powers

Beware the vagaries of backing French teams AWAY in Europe lads...not a profitable venture in my experience.
On paper of course, Toulon (and Clermont) should both have easy wins I admit, Toulon have jigged around the team a bit though which may or may not upset the rhythm.
Clermont have lost Hines who is hugely important. Exeter's first game in HEC at home so they will be well up for it. Clermont will want the BP though facing into 2 tough games with Leinster so may be a good bet on 2nd half handicap if they silence the crowd etc.
Wet night in Toulouse forecast, so will take unders in points in Castres v N'hampton. 11/10 under 39.5 looks tempting."Ne jamais perdre sa passsionne...ou s'en, éloigner vite!!!!..EC

Toulon make hard work of it by win by 8.
Winning by 8 with Cardiff out of steam Shaw gave away 2 daft penaltys then a scrum one and they get back in the game however Wilkinson had an easy kick to help those on the handicap.

ulster have named a strong attacking looking team to face the dragons tomorrow night, unbeaten in both the pro 12 and the hc this season,-7 @ 10/11 with boyles,-8 with laddies @ evens

just the four changes from last weekend none of which weaken the team as far as i can see.in attack you have Bowe(15),Trimble(14) and gilroy on the wing and plenty of grunt in the pack, could(should) be a lot of Scoring Opportunities from different platforms also fancy the second half for highest scoring half @ 5/6 with ladbrokes for a smaller bet,one concern i have for ulster which i posted before is the lack of squad rotation, could pay a price for this in later stages of both comps.
in other news good to see JJ Hanrahan get a run for munster and really impressed with rob penneys interview on newstalk the other night, think he called it bang on as to where munster are right now and need to expand as the better teams are reading them like a book over the last few seasons, can only be good for irish rugby in the long run....hopefully.Mattie McGrath wanna-be

ulster ended up crushing the dragons by 27 points scoring no less than 6 tries in total, they really are hitting the ground running with all the tries scored by 6 different players.35 points in the first half sent my highest scoring half bet south.good to see JJ Hanrahan getting the man of the match for munster and Felix Jones scoring a great try in the process, over all a good day in the officeMattie McGrath wanna-be

anyone care to have a look at the Bayonne v Bordeaux game in the top 14 today, seems to be a lot of money around for Bayonne in this, match odds were 1/7 yesterday, now 1/10 and the handicap is gone from 9 to 11 points(still plenty of -10 around),at first glance it looks one to skip given its a bottom of the table clash and last weeks results, just wondering why so much support for Bayonne in this
edit,13 changes from last week with a more attacking strategy after last weeks disaster it seems.Mattie McGrath wanna-be

Saturday November 10th Ireland V South Africa. K.O. 17.30
An ireland team missing our full back our captain and leader hooker and two of our back row Ferris and Sean o BRIEN verses a team in some transition but still quite formidable if the right players are picked.
South Africa at 8/13 to win looks like a great bet even without the ireland team sheet.
Healy cant play a game without recieving treatment Paul o Connell is just back from injury and were liable to get minced up front.
I cannot even if we had our full team and were injury free being
more than 1 or 2 point favs so why are they only 3 point favs?
Now Henke Meyer seems to have his favs from time with the blue bulls but has promised Patrick Lambie will get some game time at 10 whether its against us or not well see.
He is a very skillful player who can play full back as Morne Steyns form was terrible in 4 nations.
Very solid front 5 with big ball carrier Alberts a wrecking ball god help us if O gara gets on the field hell be steam rolled.
It could go very bad for us and cant understand why odds are so close.
We came close in one test in new zealand before a 60 -0 humiliation
South africas last game was a 16- 32 loss to new zealand who are head and shoudlers above anyone but in both games there forwards put on avery brave show something that we would not be able to live with.
The match before that they hammered oz 31- 8
We have won 3 of the last 4 games against them but Meyer is under pressure and wont field to many changes.
Our own manager bloody smirking baldy garden gnome should be gone for his one eyed ness and crap style of rugby we play whilst our provinces dominate europe.
POSSIBLE TEST TEAM: 15 Jaco Taute, 14 JP Pietersen, 13 Juan de Jongh, 12 Jean de Villiers (capt), 11 Francois Hougaard, 10 Pat Lambie, 9 Ruan Pienaar, 8 Duane Vermeulen, 7 Willem Alberts, 6 Francois Louw, 5 Juandre Kruger, 4 Eben Etzebeth, 3 Jannie du Plessis, 2 Adriaan Strauss, 1 Tendai Mtawarira
Ireland team is in tatters missing leaders in lots of positions.
Most importantly Rory Best Ferris and Sean O brien who will be badly missed for there grunt and tenacity and ball carrying.
15. Zebo
14. Bowe
13. Earls
12. D'Arcy
11. Trimble
10. Sexton (capt)
9. Murray
1. Healy
2. Strauss
3. Ross
4. Ryan
5. POC
6. POM
7. Henry
8. Heaslip
16. Cronin
17. Kilcoyne
18. Bent
19. McCarthy
20. Henderson
21. Reddan
22. Jackson
23. McFadden
I predict Peter O mahoney will spend half the match picking stupid fights and the rest the scrum will be in trouble especially if Ross goes off Healy is carrying a knock too.
O connell is just back were going to be very shallow up front.
Would love to see this squad its a rumoured one but still wont be good enough we will need kidney picking on form not from his old school favs.

Think Bent being included is a disgrace despite it being in the rules.
With Healy and o Connell passed fit odds may even drift a little be very difficult for both to play 80 mins.

By the way, I'm not disagreeing with you in general on Kidney...I think he is mostly likely done after 6 nations next year...they just couldn't sack him after a summer tour where the squad was basically flogged really...I mean Paddy Wallace went from the beach in Portugal to facing Sonny Bill in the space of 6 days! That prick Thornley making excuses for Kidney already who has had an easy ride comapred o eddie O sullivan.
The team i copied off boards looks grand Ryan never let us down but has been quiet for munster this year id pick Cronin cos hes irish think strauss is a better hooker though.
Id not have Bent near the squad an insult to irish props injuries show how shallow we really are
if i palyed Zebo would be on wing possibly Kearney junior at full back he played well verses ospreys there last week.
Do you think we will win?

McSharry has been playing well, may get into an A team and will go from there...going on the squads picked though Luke Marshall is seen as the next 12 in line and will get picked for the Fiji game.
I agree on Bent..think its embarrassing tbh.
Our backrow will be crucial. Need a big game from Heaslip as the senior man there. O'Mahony needs to up his game 25% at least and run straight and hard. Henry will have a ferocious battle at the breakdown. If they go well I think we'll win."Ne jamais perdre sa passsionne...ou s'en, éloigner vite!!!!..EC

Will be watching behind my hands I think. It's going to be a brutal game I reckon!
Wont be one for purists expect the ball to be in the air more than in play.
We wont have the pack to dominate a slug fest.

Will have to wait and see what team DK names. I actually quite like the idea of Zebo at 15. Don't know if he'll have the defence or positioning for it, but he'll be good attacking from there.
Still think that if DK had any idea how to use a bench we'd earn 5/6% in probability in every game, but think that he's completely disconnected from the modern game now.

An injury to one of our props early will be a disaster.
Rog from the bench offers very little at this stage same as Doc
delighted for Mcarthy even if because of injuries he gets a start a boost for Connacht.
Heaslip deserves the captains armband.
If i see O gara coming on at 10 and Sexton moving to 12 at any stage ill cry.
