They're missing Maicon, De Rossi, Pjanic, Gervinho, Destro, Strootman from regular starters. In the market for new centre backs too so I'd expect them to have someone new in there by start of season.

tbh, I think 2.5 is probably bang on the money. Although it could end up that neither Coutinho/Skrtel even ending up playing depending on who else comes in. I expect Lovren will get done. So will that be Sakho/Lovren? I also expect another big attacking player.

Liverpool are fucked this season imo. Defence is a millions miles behind the top teams and Sturridge as the main man won't end well.

Johnson only has a year left on this contact. Liverpool willing to let it run down this season and let him move on next year. He's on huge wages so I'd say the idea is to get the last remaining value out of him this season rather than having his huge wages sitting on the bench. Making football decisions based on business sense never really is a good idea. It's a pity as I do think contrary to lots of people views that he was a top full back when we signed him it's just a pity for him that when he signed he was playing in a very average team. He's now just an average player. This shows his massive decline as a player.

A few big departures but still the nucleus of what was the most consistent side in Europe last season, Manzukic is probably as good a replacement for Costa as they could have realistically gotten. Very little between these sides last season, that price is too big on the cap.

meh. Newcastle conceded at bad times but still managed to get the 3 points. Thought the settled West Ham team would do better against an unsettled Soton but maybe injuries did play too big of a part.

If Chelsea score first vs Everton, I think they could score a few more. Confident about the Chelsea win but not so much about the -1 tbh (it was a treble anyway so that bets dead in the water regardless).
