Rounders blasting away from the front as per usual and despite a host of respectable performances in behind, he just wan't going to be reeled in on Day 1. Significant late headway by ionapaul and hitch and eagle eye stayed close to the pace all day. Rounders though is a master judge of pace and it's going to take a serious performance to reel him in.
Watch out as ever for Pat Custard easing into a threatening position. He has plummeted down the handicap in recent outings but if he retains even a glimmer of his old ability, he could be a serious threat to the principals.
Expensive purchase GAB was never sighted on his racecourse debut. El Shambles looks one to put away for a campaign over the jumps. At least that's what I think they meant when they said he looks like a lepper.
