    Dannydiamonds super stt notsosecret diary

    Yet another stt staking log.

I haven't grinded stts before on stars so I'll try and find my feet playing $6.50 6/9 man turbos with possibly the odd 45 man thrown in.

Going with the turbos and I feel a 5 min clock is perfect for stts.

Bohsman has given me a startup roll of $200 and i'll stick to the 30 buyin rule before attempting to move up,i'm confident I can beat the bigger buyins so I'll try and get a decent volume in and get moving.

3/4 tables to start off and hopefully add a couple when I get comfortable with them.

I just played 2 6 mans to get a feel for them and won both, can't beat a good start!

I'll get started properly this evening.

The 45 man $6 games are usually the ones that I grind. It's very time dependant but these things are infested with regs. It's tough and the variance is sick bnut I reckon they still are beatable. Adjusting your calling/pushing ranges against the regs is key. Alot of the time though, you are just flipping for the dead money.

I play a lot of $6+50s and $15+1s 9man so hopefully I bump into your fishy ass.

One bit of advice (and you probably know this already) is to quickly work out who the 15+ tabling regs are. On your left they are exploitable in the early levels as they don't bother defending their big blind for the first 3/4 levels. Also a nonpush 3-bet from these players is always (close to 100%) KK+.

I decided to stick to the 6 mans tonight after the good start and they're what i'm used to.

I ran well and played 26 games in total with 12 cashes(eight wins and four 2nds).

                  Starting balance: $200
                  Games played: 26
                  Cashes: 12
                  Closing balance: $268.60
                  Profit/loss : +68.60

A good start and I hope to build on it over the next couple of days and move up as soon as I can.

I saved a few hands, playing turbos doesn't give much scope for interesting hands tbh,i'll post a couple anyway.
I'll remember to save a couple of bust out hands tomorrow!

These first two just demonstrate my lifelong losing battle with queens.

I kept the faith with the 6 mans tonight, they suit me better and i'll probably give the 9 mans a miss altogether. I might have a crack at a couple of 45 mans tomorrow night though.

I ran pretty well overall but had my fair share of doggings to boot. I did win more than my share of 50/50s which will usually see you doing well!

I played 20 games and had 10 cashes(five wins and five seconds)

                    Starting balance: $268.60
                    Games played: 20
                    Cashes: 10
                    Closing balance: $318.70
                    Profit/loss: + $51.10

So, i'm up $118.70 after 2 nights and 46 games which is a great start, the variance will eventually kick in but for now i'll try and milk the run good for all it's worth.

My favourite hand of the night..

                      Didn't play any stts tonight.
I played a few mtts on ipoker instead, busting my balls for a couple of mincashes.

Will be back in the saddle tomorrow night!

Good stuff Danny. Decent return so far so hopefully keep the run good going as long as possible. I'd push the A7dd hand pre btw

I only played eight $6.50 6 mans tonight. I was running horribly and just wasn't in the humour to keep grinding with the badness coming my way. It'd be too easy to plough on but I wasn't in the mood for it so best to leave it for the night!

Played 8, with only 1 cash which was a win.

                            Starting balance: $318.70
                            Games played: 8
                            Cashes: 1
                            Closing balance: $290.10
                            Profit/loss: - $28.60.

Up $90 after 54 games which is still decent but was just not in the mood for it tonight, will come battling back tomorrow!

Lost a few hands with the usual AQ v AJ and the jack hitting, losing races etc.

Anyone who plays stts knows the score, I was behind all the way here, but was just going like this, so I had the sense to call it a night!

Played only a few games tonight, 9 in total, finished on the + side for a few quid, about $27.
I'll give a full rundown tomorrow night including those games, wrecked now. I actually managed to cash in 6 from 9 but ran horribly heads up with 5 seconds!

I played 22 $6.50 6 man turbos tonight. i have to include the 9 games from last night too, so a total of 31 games.

                                  Starting balance: $290.10
                                  Games played: 31
                                  Cashes: 15
                                  Closing balance: $353.20
                                  profit/loss: + $63.10.

After running badly hu last night I pulled up the win% tonight. 7 wins, 8 seconds from 31 games the last 2 nights.

In total i'm + $153.20,about 24 buyins after 85 games,I don't expect it, but long may it continue!

I'm getting a good feel for the games now and esp what certain bets tend to mean in the majority of situations.

I have loads of hands saved but I'm not going to post them.
In 6 max turbos there aren't really any interesting hands/situations,it's all pretty much formulaic and I don't see much point in it.

If you'd prefer I did Bohsman, let me know,it's no hassle.

I will post this little beauty though.

I hadn't played at all this week until today for a variety of reasons.

Today I played 23 $6.50 6 man turbos, did ok but ran pretty bad heads up(5 firsts and 6 seconds). That might not seem to be to bad a %, but I think i'm pretty strong headsup and there's usually some play left by the time we get down to two players in these,so would hope to do better in general. I'll have a tally of my seconds to win ratio after my games tomorrow actually, as this has a huge bearing on your overall results.

                                        Starting balance: $353.20
                                        Games played: 23

My inlaws are arriving On Saturday for the weekend so I will have plenty of time to play. I hope to get in a decent volume over the weekend.

                                          Never really got into STT

played about 10 or so of them (the 9 man ones)
                                          after reading this thread

They are rather enjoyable chilled out yokes (so far)

always be raising seems to be the key!?????

                                          Happy days!

I put in a proper grind today playing 50 6 man $6.50 turbos.
11 firsts and nine second place finishes is a decent result but the last hour or so was a killer, with only one cash in my last 10 games. It's one long game afterall so won't let it bother me.

                                            Starting balance: $383.70
                                            Games played: 50
                                            Cashes: 20
                                            Closing balance: $429.50
                                            Profit/loss: + $45.80

I've played 158 games in total and i'm up $229.50 from my initial starting bankroll. I can't ask for anymore than that,it's a fairly chunky roi, albeit from a small amount of games.I'll make no apoligies for running good.

It gives me a bit of leeway now though to consider moving up to the next buyin level.
I'll see tomorrow, I might try and get another one or two winning sessions under my belt at the $6.50 level for a bit of comfort bankroll wise before moving up or start by mixing both.

Will definately start the move up from the $6.50 games tomorrow. I've no fear about my ability to beat the bigger buyin games but i'm trying to be disciplined.

Just played 10 $6.60 6 man turbos tonight. Wasn't put off by the bad night I had just was tired after the golf today.

Finished slightly in the black with 2 firsts and 2 seconds which won't be at all bad for the confidence heading into tomorrow. Heading back in the right direction at least.

Stars was acting up earlier and was having trouble registering for stts, got a few in but knocked them on the head for a while until they sort themselves out.

Decided to have a stab at the $11 100 seat gtee for the mil and the $11 250k during the enforced break. I was informed I was put in a queue no less for both and had to wait!
No luck in either i'm afraid, although I got a bit of momentum going in the turbo satt.

I'll be heading back to the stts shortly as soon as it looks like all's running normally. It's a balls as I was going to try for a good session tonight, all the loons come out on Sundays!

Nice flop, bad river in the turbo satt.

I'm going to try and get at least 200 games played in the coming week and hopefully get back to a point where I can start moving back up to the $13 games. I'll start mixing games next time around as opposed to a blanket jump up incase I encounter the horrors of my last attempt again.

Nightmare when this happens Danny. Are you playing the lot at 6mans? I haven't played a 6man in my challenge yet, just the 9mans. Sickest thing, is that the jump from $6.50 is to $16.50 in 9mans and there's nothing in between. Can't afford to go on to much of a downswing! Run good and get back to $13s and drive it on

Yuk, such a shitty session of badness.

26 games played with one win and five seconds, that pretty much tells the story.
I opened wordpad to save a couple of hands late on in the session just to be able to post an example of the madness.

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then is not an act, but a habit.

I haven't been well the last couple of days so haven't been playing, the break seems to have done me good after the stuttering over the last few sessions.

I played 35 games tonight with 11 wins and finished second five times. Good to get back on track.

Sickest thing, is that the jump from $6.50 is to $16.50 in 9mans and there's nothing in between. Can't afford to go on to much of a downswing! Run good and get back to $13s and drive it on
Sorry Tony,I never got back to this.

Yeah all my games have been 6 handed turbos, they're what i'm comfortable with. I played a bunch on ipoker before and also played alot of the 5 handed games on microgaming back in the day.
That jump up in buyin in the 9 mans is a bit much. The jump in the 6 handed games is a little more manageable at least.
Last time out I went for a blanket jump for a session up to the $13 games, it was a bad night to run bad!
I'll integrate the games over a night or 2 next time incase the same thing happens,it's a balls to undo a couple of nights grafting in a couple of hours.

Playing 6 man turbo 5dollar on i-poker, I find the blinds go up very fast and it just becomes a shove! Whats the blind levels on turbos on stars?

The turbos on stars have a 5 minute clock as opposed to 4mins on ipoker. The blind levels are quite different too, the repeat of the 100/200 level with a 25 ante makes a huge difference on stars.
They're labelled 'turbos' but there's more than enough play in them for an stt afaic. One game lasts approx 40 minutes. The ten minute clock doesn't appeal to me at all,way too long.

I haven't played any stts this week as i've been grinding various tournies, i'll probably get the ball rolling again this evening.
