Neighbourly didn't land a blow, very poor run indeed

bet 18,going with irish raider Drinmoy Lad@ 4/1 for a 2 point win in kempton 5.50,the horse has only raced a few times in england and has won just the one time, looks to have a great chance here

bet 19,curragh 5.30 Patrickswell@ 20/1,is down to a winning mark and has a rail draw from 12,but looking back at the history of the race low stall draws are well on top, going to give it just a half point e/w

    Drinmoy Lad 2 point win @ 4/1
    Patrickswell .5 of a point @ 20/1

bet 20,curragh 4.00,Taameer@ 12/1,was very unlucky last time ,finding lots of trouble in running, could be a little value at the price here in this very open race.

no good yesterday, all three well beaten
          bets 21,22 & 23
notice that navan based trainer liam mcateer has two running in Ffos Las this evening, both could have a chance

in the 4.30 Thats A Fret@ 14/1,has only raced outside ireland a few times and his biggest win by far was at the curragh winning a 34k pot over 6 furlongs rated 81,before winning at Catterick over 5 furlongs(todays trip) a few weeks later.has some form at this track with a win last year over distance,3rd last week over 6 at laytown which could be a pipe opener for this with a rating of 68 and has a 7lb claimer on board.

in the 5.30 Strategic Heightsis priced up at 16/1,nowhere last time in Bellewstown, but before that was a half length second when 25/1 up in ayr off 45,the winner of that has gone on to win again since.is today off 49 with Raul Da Silva in the plate with 3lbs ex(also notice that another irish trained horse that i backed yesterday,Drinmoy Lad is in here, worth keeping a eye on)

          going with .5 of a point e/w on Strategic Heights(16/1) and Thats A Fret(14/1) and a .5 of a point e/w double for a total of 3 points

bet 24,going for a 1 point e/w on the Terence O'Brien trained Push The Button@ 8/1 in the bumper in Listowel (5.20) never raced in public before but the market support is very Interesting for this well bred horse.

yup that went well,Push The Button was pulled up after about 7 furlongs,Thats A Fret finished in 5th and the best result of the day goes to Strategic Heights who was a non runner so a point back

off to Listowel again today,in the 3.35 a handicap (3yo) over 6 furlongs, going for Blue Mimosa@ 9/1 (sj pg), as a 2 year old, didn't take long to get into the swing of things just two runs before winning her maiden in sligo over distance on soft enough ground, and going on to win again in sligo over distance rated 77 next time out.has only one run this season finishing well down the field in the curragh over 7 furlongs.but is today off just 68 with 7lb ex,and again back over her winning distance of 6 furlongs, has a very good draw, the going on heavy might be a little concern but with the low weight, draw and right distance, think she could have a great chance after a pipe opener 9 days ago

                2 point e/w @ 9/1
edit just got 9/1 with sj

no joy with blue Mimosa yesterday, the price drifted out to 12/1 before the off which more or less told the story of the race as far as she was concerned.didn't take advantage of the draw and was towards the rear after a furlong or so(was eased into the race)but did stay on past beaten horses towards the end, still think she's nicely treated after looking back at the race a few times this morning, hopefully will come on for the experience and worth keeping a eye on in the tracker imo.

bet 26,going with mamma rosa in the listowel 3.35 @ 9/2,she won this race last year off 71 landing a right touch (backed from 7/1 to 10/3 before the off)winning by 3 lengths in the end.was 4th last time out behind van rooney in killarney over distance and is today off 68,stall draw from 2 also looks fine.a few dangers in the race with Ariyfa coming over from england(think the heavy going is a big concern)and the bolger trained Loreto who finished just in front of mamma rosa in the race in killarney, but has a extra lb to contend with, also think that this could be the target race for mamma rosa, worth a little e/w at the odds.

                  2 point e/w @ 9/2

mamma rosa tried to make all but folded in the last furlong finishing a very tame 4th,with Loreto staying on to land the race, jockey kevin Manning reporting that the ground was very, very heavy.picked the wrong horse so no return

bet 27,in the kerry national going with Start Me Up @ 12/1,the going here over the distance will make this a right slog and with a lot of the market leaders could be under pressure on ground so heavy, start me up at least has some decent form with a few place efforts behind the likes of seabass(on heavy) and sunny hill boy, also has a win to his name over 3 miles in navan on soft/heavy,swans stable not flying with his last win over 2 weeks ago and plenty of runners since, but for me worth a go at the odds

                    2 points e/w @ 12/1

Start Me Up was well backed during the day and ended up going off @ 7/1,finished up in 3rd behind Faltering Fullback who won @ 33/1,(paying a massive 90/1 or thereabouts on the tote)

anyways a profit of 4 points(thank god) bringing the bank to 81.4

bet 28,in the listowel 305,going for a little punt on Rominintheglomin@ 5/1 with pp,landed her maiden over 7 furlongs in gowran park in july on heavy, beating Unanimous who was rated 75 at the time, who has since gone on to win twice beating fit the cove(won here during the week)along the way in galway, she's rated 78 for this but has a decent draw in stall 3 and with trainer john Shanahan quoted as saying "she loves that soft ground,She's a big tall filly who should improve a bit with time" after her maiden win, give it a whirl at the odds

                        2 point win @ 5/1

bet 29,going for a little e/w on Uponthe Hoof@ 9/1 in the Listowel 505,won his maiden last time out over distance in bellewstown by just a neck but was hampered a little at the second last when a horse fell in front of him, that form was boosted during the week when second in that race (Roadtoabbeyfeale) won well again over distance,on the minus side the trainer reports in his words that "he's a bit of a baby" and this is his first handicap with a rating of 109 and has also only ever raced on soft or better, the going here is on the heavy side of soft at best, but he seems to have plenty of ability so just give it a point e/w

                          1 point e/w @ 9/1

in the 6.00 Jouster@ 14/1,just the one win for the horse in Yarmouth(only time the horse raced outside ireland) last month over 6 on good off 64,is today off 68 over 7 furlongs with a good jockey booking, last two runs are poor enough but that was on poor ground, give it a point e/w @ 14s

in the 7.00 he runs Khaos @ 16/1,won her maiden in dundalk this time last year, and did finish a neck second off a mark of 80 with 5 lbs ex,is to day over a extra furlong off 80 so a few ifs and buts but at 16s worth a point e/w @ 16s

more rain over night in Listowel and the ground very much on the heavy side,in the bumper going with Sitcom@ 2/1,second last time in tramore on heavy ground and form of that race was well franked with a few winning since that Sitcom had behind that day
give it a two point win @ 2/1

going with Cerveza Dinero@ 3/1 for a max bet, denis hogan who is based in Tipperary is bringing two over to Uttoxeter and runs the above in the 4.10,good ground looks the key for this horse if history is anything to go by,and with none to be found in ireland this looks like most likely to win of the two.distance is fine and the good going is a major plus.

                                      5 point win @ 3/1

going with a wee trixie for today

in ballinrobe 6.15 Bruff@ 7/1 looks a fair bet,3rd last time out in galway in a hcp chase over todays distance off 95 and is today off 96 with 4lb ex,in effect 3 lb lower for this Steeplechase and with the market leaders going up in the ratings, worth including at the odds

in the 405 fairyhouse September Lily @ 6/1 hopefully will come good after a few near misses, has plenty of experience, not the best thing for a maiden race i guess but has a few seconds behind horses that have gone on to frank the form since, has a cheekpiece fitted for the first time which could help things along, draw looks a negative though.

in the last in fairy house going with Pires @ 6/1,has come back to form with a chase win and a hurdle second, this is a flat race over 1m2f and is rated 80 with 7 lbs ex,won last year over 1 mile 4 furlongs with a rating of 89,and could be very well treated if back to his best here.

1 point trixie(three doubles and one treble) for a total of 4 points (pays 5.5k if they all happen to win)

September Lily went off the 11/4 fav but could only finish 3/4 length 3rd,still worth hanging on to in the tracker, draw didn't help yesterday and should lose the maiden tag in the next few spins

Pires drifted all the way out to 12/1 finished in 5th after the ground went against him, still looks well treated imo at this level and also keeping him in the tracker

Bruff more or less hacked up,worth keeping a eye on,could be a little more to come from the horse
just the one winner with no return,no irish racing to-day,notice that denis hogan is running Cerveza Dinero in Newton Abbot 5.20 but with the ground turning soft/heavy could be better off laying so not backing anything today.

it seems that Downpatrick has got the nod after a inspection at 8 am this morning with soft/heavy going.this track is tight and can be tricky when the ground poor and experience can only help

in the 5.10,a beginners steeplechase, going for a small each way with In The Haven@ 6/1,Clara More(who has a 4th here last year) odds on @ 10/11 will be hard to beat but might have a question to answer on the heavy going, the noel meade trained Dark Prospect(4/1) has never jumped a fence in the heat of battle and again the heavy going could be problem given the history of the horse.in the haven is not a star by any means but does have fairly decent form on this type of ground in hcp chases and also has won his maiden race at the track all be it back in 2008

                                              1 point e/w @ 6/1

in dundalk going with Monaco Mist@ 4/1 in the 3.15,its a maiden race over 7 furlongs, only the one race to look at from a form point of view when finishing second behind the odds on big break, was behind a wall of horses before running on to beat the rest and if the horse comes on from that run could be hard to beat here, throw in the draw from 1,and the jockey/trainer combo, will hopefully put a little meat on the bones of this bet

1 point trixie which is four bets ( 3 doubles & 1 treble for a potential return of 54 points)

mighty start to the October where i managed to find a few races with just a few likely winners and plenty of dead wood and picked the wrong one ...twice hard enough to do you know!Fortify finished second to Beyond Thankful and sitcom was fifth behind Art Of Logistics, both winners well backed

another double for me again in ayr with no irish racing on today

in the 3.40 Arctic Feeling@ 7/2,was second here over distance on the going last month off 81,off 83 today but a lot of these seem to have their best form on better ground.Sovereign Street looks a danger but was withdrawn no less than 11 times over the last year or so.

in the 2.40 going with Red Cobra@ 6/4,second last time on testing ground, looks to have a great chance of popping the maiden tag here
