Such a great dish. Not that I've had it in Rome but make it sometimes. Although always tempted to just make it a really peppery carbonara.
Also had some version of it in Variety Jones recently, they certainly did not ruin it.
My Wired podcast recommended the Folk Fabrique playlist on spotify, and its quitea wild ride. I've managed to bore myself senseless with my 'liked' music on spotify. But was listening to this blend of African dance folk whatever the fuck on the evening walk and its really something else. Might be worth giving it a go - you'll know after the first song if its your thing. Its all brilliantly different and cool and everything.
Edge of Tomorrow is Cruises best film imo. Cracker.
This may or may not be an original thought of my own.

I didn't bother watching the end of Edge of tomorrow. I enjoyed most of it, the initial conceit was quite interesting but it got really dull by the end. Talking of dull - the latest bond is dreadful. Way too long, terrible plot and boring action scenes. Reni Malek gave a truly terrible performance as the villain, although to be fair the character was terrible. I'm annoyed I went to see it.

What were you expecting? Aside from casino royale all the craig Bond movies have been a mess , can’t remember much of any of them aside from Mexico City day of the dead scene in one of them
Timothy dalton bond movies still safe at the top
Will you ever fuck off with that shite... you are easily one of the worst posters on here for this-Pokerhand
Hectorjelly what was the last movie you saw that you thought was good?

Yeah his Bond character is so fucking dull. You get the impression he thinks it's an actual job he is clocking into. Not a moments fun to be had. At least Pearse was mildly humorous.
If you say you haven't watched The Bodyguard more than 3 times in your life you're a liar. A film that just worked when it was released.
Was a big Prince of Thieves fan as a kid and growing up and would give it a spin again no questions asked. Although that is Rickman's movie. Not Costner. Great score in it. Not the Adam's stuff. That was only end credits.
Last two times i seen him on the big screen were Molly's Game and Draft Day. The latter being fucking horrendous but as a Browns and NFL fan, i was in.
I agree Rickman was supreme in that RH flick . Without him it would have been a car crash. . Costner didnt even try. As for the Bryan Adam's song. Tortured us for months .
Bull Durham and Perfect World are probably my 2 favs.
I’m a sucker for sports movies with him in it.
Some really lol bad sports ones that I still love (Tin Cup, Draft Day, McFarland USA etc)
American Flyers I loved as a kid (Think Rocky 4 with bikes)
Went to see Dances with Wolves in the Savoy and remember liking it at the time but haven’t rewatched it.
His rival it seems, had broken his dreams,By stealing the girl of his fancy. Her name was Magill, and she called herself Lil,But everyone knew her as Nancy.
Think The Untouchables is the only Costner movie I've watched more than once.
Good shout re Untouchables.
And seriously re Bodyguard? I'd imagine it had a massive re run rate on RTE/UTV/BBC(When that was a thing). Or is it just that i grew up in female dominated house that it was on so often?
Chill Insurance really have the market sewn up in terms of their business model. They are ridiculously efficient. Why would anyone go direct to an insurance company - are there lower rates? Can't imagine it.

Got these wireless earbuds a while ago from OnePlus and they are highly impressive. Love the little neck strap, but I think that might be a personal preference.€50 though. Hard to go wrong. Even if earbuds used to once-upon-a-time give you change from a tenner.
Costner hid a bad run of movies after Waterworld that he could never back from. The last time he registered on my radar was some apparently painfully bad movie about being a postman. And the movie, seemingly, was largely just him delivering letters. I always somewhat confuse him with Michael Keaton. Maybe they look a bit similar.
Casino Royale was the last bond film I went to see. For some reason, I got the impression this was supposed to be good.
I'll never forget loudly exclaiming "that's bullshit!" in a packed cinema at the poker scenes
People say I should be more humble I hope they understand, they don't listen when you mumble

Never forget the damage Daniel craig has done with is ridiculously badly fitting suits in the bond movies. Part of the clothing industry conspiracy to increase profits by saving on fabric by convincing men the need to wear suit jackets that look like corsets

I like tin cup a lot more than I should.
Such a fun movie

watched Another Round (Druk) last night, bit of a let down
When I was in small-town Denmark recently it was scared in my brain that every middle aged man was a trainee drunk. Amazing how, when you only know one thing about a country, that becomes the defining feature that you see in their people.
Got a drive from the airport to Rome central from a seeming nice old man in his mid 80s. Guy is a flaming lunatic on the roads... Cut other drivers off and swearing (I think) at them for having the audacity for being on the same roads as him. Undertaking and overtaking performed without thoughts of other cars... I have seen bad driving before but that takes the biscuit!
On the other hand... Italian women

If you get tilted enough that you have had to put someone on ignore it must be extra traumatising when someone then quotes that person and you have to see that persons posts anyway .

Generally it's when renewals come around, going direct-to-seller is best. Chill don't make money off the 1st Year quote - When renewals kick in they are laughing.

I can safely say, I've only ever caught max 20-25 minutes of the Bodyguard once and that was mid way through the film while flicking through channels and then moving on as it was crap.

I do get the female dominated house though, my house was just dominated slightly earlier. I could almost quote Top Gun and Dirty Dancing word for word and have watched them dozens of times and would watch them again. All my older sisters had moved out by 1990 so the standard of movie watching greatly increased from then on!

You think Daniel Craig (as James Bond) is dictated global fashion trends? That’s some pedestal.
I’d have assume who ever was doing wardrobe was easily led by whatever was trendy that day. And looks so dated.
They we’re shrunken not skim imo.

Standard Italian driving tbh. I was heading up the Alps in a minibus, a few years back on my first ski/snowboard trip. Snow and ice everywhere, yet the driver had no problem flinging the minibus blind into every hairpin turn while climbing up the mountains in diminishing light. Best thing to do was close your eyes and not look out the window.

I was of the same view and then stumbled onto Mr Brooks a few years ago.
A really excellent and sinisterly disturbing movie. It seems it didn’t get much traction at the time but if it had I think it had the potential to give his career a rebirth tbh. Anyway if any one fancies watching a disturbing serial killer movie for a bit of light entertainment I recommend it.
‘IF YOU had not committed great sins, God would not have sent a punishment like me upon you.” Genghis Khan
Bull Durham, Field of Dreams... love those baseball movies
Tin Cup thoroughly enjoyed.
Another good baseball movie was with Tom Hanks as the coach of a women's team during WW2. Some great lines for Hanks
"are you crying, are you CRYing! theres no Crying in baseball"
So were you married?
Hanks "twice"
Any kids?
Hanks "one of em was!"

we'd done a lot of walking and decided to grab a cab back to where we needed to catch our bus. got to the taxi rank and found a cab. To my European eyes, the roads looked gridlocked. guy says no problem. i jump in the front, and the wife and kids jump in the back. guy turns up his radio full blast with some heavy techno. guy does a u turn and goes against the traffic, goes around a massive roundabout the wrong way, dodging cars left and right, then down a massive 2 way road, still on the wrong side before cutting across the divide back on the right side.
He then hammers it up the road. Sometimes, he looks at me, winks, then starts swerving like a madman and looking at the kids screaming (and eventually laughing). i'm laughing my head off at this stage. Everyone in the cab is holding on for dear life. swerve-scream-laugh goes on for a good 10 minutes. We finally reach our destination and pay the man, comfortable in the knowledge that we probably just had the craziest cab ride of our lives.
It still makes me laugh now just thinking about it.
What’s in it for western countries if they get involved if China does invade Taiwan- only massive negatives surely?
I'd imagine China won't touch Taiwan unless Taiwan declares independence. Then its a fairly obvious Cuba situation, where you have this US-funded heavily-armed pain in the ass on your border, and its automatic invasion. That's probably why the US has repeatedly warned Taiwan not to declare independence.
The current situation is nothing. Taiwanese domestic defence minister wants approval for billions of extra armaments, so he ratchets up the fear factor. China doesn't want to have billions of armaments aimed against them so they are sabre-rattling. Its all meaningless though, there won't be any 'war' when it eventually comes to it because everyone loses from destroying resources and the China-Taiwan imbalance will be so great.
